That is a shame Caz, such an upheaval, but hopefully you will get somewhere nice and convenient. Meanwhile keep all your stuff downstairs.

Morning all, another dreary day here, headachy weather. trying to get up the energy to go to work later. I'm so disappointed in my tomato seeds, the only one which is showing promise is the Black Krim tomato, the red, pink, yellow and purple ones are all non-productive to date. I got these "heritage" seeds last year and couldn't plant because of all the upset with the house, the dog and moving. Now I was motivated and only one is really showing any progress. very frustrating, was trying to avoid paying for plants.LOL. been busy all morning with a friend who is devastated as they may lose their house. her OH was injured in december and wasn't covered by unemployment insurance. Life is smacking them in the face, their daughter is disabled and the bathroom reno alone was $10K to give her some independence. Now they may lose it all. And I can only listen. Sending hugs to all who are in need of them today. Mary

Hi Mary
I am sure you 'only' listening is a great help to your friend. I hope they find a solution. We have very hot sticky weather here. Lovely to see the sun but half an hour gardening requires an hour's rest!!

Well I am glad I am not the only one with a dining table that isn't fit for use :-))
Some of the paperwork is quite important but I just can't yet!!!
Stayed out of bed cos Mad Moo came over with doughnuts and we nattered for about 2 and a half hours, it was nice to see her. I am fighting to keep awake now until OH gets home.
Deanna what good news for you, one worry out of the way :-))
Caz our house is on 3 floors, I can't remember what the top floor looks like, social services still haven't sent someone to inspect our bathroom *yawn* I hope you get sorted soon.
Ann you always sound so sensible, make me feel totally inadequate, when the paperwork topples onto the floor I may be forced to look at it :-((
Love to everyone (especially those looking in but not able to post yet)

Don't hold your breath Sue, it took over two years for them to come to inspect our house. They gave me a lot of hand rails, banister and grab rail for stairs and a bath lift. We have been to look at the sheltered housing we are going into and it's lovely, can't wait to move now, our stairs look more and more like a mountain lately. Just need to sell ours quickly if we can then.

No girls , that was said 'tongue in cheek' love. the doctor said it was all fine, but Allan is not fine.
the doctor is only palming Allan off. As long as he gets to see the Cardiologist soon. Then I will be happy. He took his chair out in the garden and did a bit of gardening... pottering really, but he looks so pleased with himself, so if he is happy.. that is good.
Elaine, that is what Allan is like and it is so worrying isn't it? hope your man gets on okay on Wednesday... just wish they would sort Allan out too. They are not asking for much, just a decent life to live.
Mary how awful for your poor friend and her family. you just want to do something don't you? It is so unfair... SURELY his work could help them??? The little man/ woman just don't seem to get any fair treatment do they?
Caz, I was like that before we moved into this bungalow. I was still able to do bits and pieces, like make the beds, and the washing, cooking. I used to collect the dirty washing and throw it down the stairs. Any cups or water glasses, I used to put at the top of the stairs... crawl down backwards, and move the bits every couple of steps! Looked like an idiot, but I was alone so who cared?? The stairs then became a *nightmare* for me. I was so happy to get my move. Hope you are sorted soon Caz. x
Ann, that sounds good to me.... will you come tidy my filing cabinet when you are finished? ;-0)
Better go again. See you all tomorrow. tell JP taht we are nearly there... Love, Deanna XXX

Yes I hope JP is watching. I bet she will come bounding in at the last minute to pip us at the post! Well i hope so anyway.
Sue, it is easy to be sensible with other people's problems, not so easy with your own.
I have got all red blotches on my lower legs. Looked it up on the net and it is from walking a lot yesterday in the heat. apparently quite common in walkers over 50 and golfers. Called golfers Vasculite or something similar. doesn't itch, just looks a sif I have got something nasty.
Sorry deanna, i thought you meant Alan really was fine. I hope they find something for him soon then poor man.

I am not having a good day today.... Do any of you feel like this? A great day and then I seem to PAY for it later! Still it is a beautiful day, Tony has taken Allan down to the clinic for a blood test. I need to go too, but will leave it until Monday... no great hurry. Hope you all have a good day. Do you mind if I don't mention you by name? I am just desperate to go back into the living room!!

Morning friends - I have not started my day well. had a fire in the kitchen. All I wanted was a cuppa, turned on the stove to heat the kettle, and apparently turned on the wrong light, on which Megan had placed yesterday's post. Multi envelopes on fire - all I did was go to the door to let the dogs in and my house is full of smoke. Lost my new insurance policy papers, lost some kind of a statement from the company who oversee my work pension plan. Still haven't got my tea.
Wretched papers remain my nemesis, another "aha" moment, if I'd sorted them when they arrived, there would not have been a fire. mercifully no other damage done. I'm beginning to think I shouldn't be allowed out alone!!!!! I'm shutting down the pc now so I can make myself do some work in the garden. Have a good day all, forgive me for not mentioning names, my brain is smoky LOL Mary

Mary, that could have been dangerous. Maybe it is not wise to use the top of your cooker for storing paper. Glad it was not more serious though.
Deanna, I hope that your day got better. sorry it was not a good one to start off.
Lovely day here and forecast to change tomorrow so we have spent a lot of time sorting out the hosta bed at the end of the garden, and re-arranging the hosta and grass pots. I managed to do quite a bit before the back creaked and I came in. Then this afternoon we went to the local garden centre and bought a few more plants, 4 pot geraniums, an osteospernum and two more bush fuchsias. Tony is busy potting them up, by the sound of it accompanied by the local blackbird who is singing his heart out.
Not many around today so i hope you are all OK. Gt Gt Nephew still has not got a name apparently Mum and dad can't agree on the name. Have heard he has dark brown hair and blue eyes (which will quite likely change). My sister didn't like to ask about skin colour..- My Gt niece is half Morrocon, her Moroccan Father white but grandparents were black. baby's father is Nigerian. I bet baby is beautiful.

Hi Ann Don't I know it was dangerous. I don't use the top for storage or meal prep but for some reason both my daughters do!!! However I should have been more alert when I switched it on!! Been out for a drive to pick up some Echinacea from a lady on Plantcycle. I thought I was receiving 1 plant but she gave me nine babies. She's going to call me when she separates her hostas and ferns. On the way back, I stopped at the side of the road where an Italian lady often sells plants from her home. I got some tomato plants - large already - 3 cherry tomato, 2 beefsteak and 2 Big John tomatoes. the Big John ones last year won at the Fair in october - a 4lb tomato !! I'm about to give up on my seeds . . . this should keep Sarah Happy for a few months. She adores tomatoes. in fact she adores food.Esp fruit and veggies. back outside for an hour. Hope everyone is feeling OK, the suns out here, makes such a difference to the mood. HUgs Mary

Still no-one about? Had a bad night last night, been awake since 4am. Didn't have much sleep before that.Eddie seems to have had a bad turn in the night. He was talking to "the invisible man" & twitching all over the place. At one point I was supporting him so that he didn't fall off the bed. Today, I would say that he is only about 95% "with it" not sure if I can cope like this!

Elaine, well done on going out on your own, hope your 'way up' continues.
Angela, i am here at the moment, quiet on here isn't it? Things always seem worse in the night don't they. is Eddie on morphine? That can make people spaced out. If you can't cope don't be afraid to ask somebody for help (Dr, nurse etc)
Either people are too ill to post which is worrying, or they are so well they have no need to post which is good. Either way people please let us know you are OK.
