Sharron

Sharron Report 22 Sep 2008 11:39

I put up a thread suggesting a meet for we who have had narcissistic mothers which didn't meet with any enthusiasm but it has been suggested I start a support thread.

It is evident that many people on here are coping with the effects of narcissistic parents and partners.I feel that some of you are probably not ill with depression at all but reacting in a perfectly normal way to a form of abuse that is hidden. In effect many of us are or have been taking medication for somebody elses disorder.I was. Narcissism must be costing the NHS millions, maybe they could start to acknowledge it.

Anyway, as the Health Service finds it easier to not support us, do you think it would be a good idea to start a specific narcissism support thread?

Hi everyone,

Betty, your story about that poor woman dying, whilst dear hubby had his girlfriend downstairs, is worse than mine.I am still feeling very unsettled about it though.
Gail, how are you today, did the bath help you to relax a bit? How horrible for you, especially as you were so happy on your recent birthday.
I am very bad at remembering names, hope it is not becoming a senior thingy.I only want to wish all of you a peaceful day, without any strife, if possible.
Love to all from Eileen xx

Forgot to add this:

Joyce, I sent you an e-mail with the address of that on-line shop where you can buy English tea etc.

Will ask other daughter if she knows someone, in this country, who is willing to bake a Christmas cake for you.

Hi everyone.
DUTCH, sent me a lovely get well card today.... well to me and Allan. He was quite impressed Joyce, he did not expect to be included.

Tony took Allan to the hospital, and i am sitting here waiting for them coming back.

I have been answering e-mails and and there is no way you can ever beat the e-mails, can you?
you answer ten and ten more appear!!
I am not complaining, I just love my e-mails... if I did not get any I would feel so rejected.
Getting very hot in here now so I must go and have a cool from my fan.
See you later .

YorkshireCaz Report 23 Sep 2008 17:43

Hi all, been busy all day with my sister, just managed to get on. I am fed up at moment, as most will know I went to see another Neurologist yesterday, went with hight hopes of getting somewhere. I came out no wiser than I went in. He looked at all my results of scans, x-rays, mri's and blood tests, in fact my file is massive, couldn't believe it when I saw it. He gave me a good going over with tests and his little hammer, balancing tests and standing up tests, everything.
All he could come up with was that he didn't have a clue what was wrong, although something clearly is. He said everything points to MS, even to the loss of sight in one eye then it coming back slightly but not being able to see red, a classic symptom. But I'm too old.
There is one thing he said it could be but it is so rare he doesn't think it will be that, the name is so long even he couldn't say it properly.
So, I have got arthritis all over, proved, I have secondary cancer, proved, I have FM, proved, I have degenerative spine disease, proved, damaged nerves in spine, proved, slipped discs, proved. Something has made me disabled and nobody can tell me what, it's beyond a joke now. My sciatica he said will have been caused by my jerking legs, they get quite bad and would have pulled my back disturbing my discs. He is leaving my back alone for the time being as long as I can cope, he said if he operates there is a chance that I could end up paralysed, lovely.
I'm sorry for moaning on but I really have had enough now and don't know how much more I can take.
Oh yes, Dutch told me she would be with me in spirit, she was, the doctor was Dutch lol.

Love and hugs to all.

Deanna Report 24 Sep 2008 14:25

I have just come off the 'General' threads... the sadness on there today is dreadful. have you been on today?
I'm very upset by the trauma in the lives of two of the women on there.
It certainly put my problems in perspective, so now I am not going to mention any of my insignificant pains.
Caz, you are in a state. you did not tell me that you were in such a state. my own son had a lot of trouble trying to get a diagnosis from doctors too.
they like to say.... psychosomatic.... gets them off the hook when what they really need to learn to say... "I'm not sure".
Just you keep keeping on love, and we can get well together... all of us.

Eileen, no e-mails lately... you gone off me?
love to all Deanna XXX

Claddagh Report 24 Sep 2008 16:10

Hello all,

No Deanna, haven't gone off you, am just feeling rather sorry for myself these last days.I hardly dare moan, when I read about Caz's terrible illnesses, because it seems so insignificant.
Why am I so miserable?Mostly physical problems, but, today, a man came from a certain deptartment, can't go into details, which has made me feel as though I am about to flip. This has been hanging over me for months. I have dreaded the post every day...now the 'sword has fallen' at last, it should seem like it is a relief, but it isn't. I have an appointment for 13.00-12.00 your time, tomorrow, so will you all please think of me, and send positive thoughts my way? I hate asking, knowing that all of you have far more pressing problems, but this has been eating away at me for so long.I am sick to the stomach, don't know what to do really.

Thanks for listening.

Whitenancy Report 24 Sep 2008 17:09

Elaine
Never be afraid to let it all out on here that's what we are all here for yes some of us have more to cope with physically than others but i have always said when you are having a bad days its is your bad day and at that precise moment you are the most important person in the world and if you need to let of steam and have a good old rant then do so without felling guilty about it.

Elaine I have only got a few moments as tea is nearly ready, but do you remember when you first posted? You were very bad with anxiety but you overcame it and you got your husband to the hospital and all his appointments. You know we are all behind you and post any time you need to.
I am sorry everyone I was very bad yesterday, really down.
