GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 22 Jul 2008 12:10

Hi Carole, no my dad has not been any better. He has now turned off his mobile phone. I told him I was going to visit Sunday and what time. When we got there were told he had gone out and they did not know what time he would be back.

So, now the phone is turned off, everyone is ringing me instead. When I say I have not seen him I get hassled more.

Liz, Glasses are a problem arn't they. I wear multi focals also (as they are called here) I recently replaced just the lenses, $390 Australian. OH said get new frames if you want, he soon said the old ones look okay after he realised the price of lenses.

OH also gets Plastic (??) lenses and they are still very thick and heavy. He has been told he needs bi-focals but refused to get them. Got sick of reading for him so gave him a magnifying glass.

Carole, I would not be happy with son's friend or the girl. Friend would know your son likes her, so not much of a friend is he???? Honestly, my head is too muddled and would not know what to do.

Hello everyone, I am not staying but I am thinking of you all.
I had a PM from Joyce P last night, it was lovely to hear from her.
She knows everything we are saying and doing.... always was nosey.... but she does not feel much like joining in yet.
she will though when she is ready.
She knows we are thinking of her, and she knows she is loved I'm sure.
I'm off but I will be back later perhaps.
Look after yourselves and don't overdo it any of you.
Love to all,
Deanna XXX

Hi

I have applied for a vacancy as a Quality Assesor Operative at my place of work. They want 6 people, and 9 have applied, but the closing date was Friday. I have been there 8 years so I do hope to get one of them. My mate who has applied says he is not raising his hopes but at least we tried if we are 2 out of the 6 people who get it, although if I dont get it, I worry this might spike my ocd ruminations and stuff like "Why didnt I get it when I have been there 8 years".

Ben years served isn't always a plus in managements eyes. If they think you could be a threat to them and their position, as you could be better than them, they will keep you down! Just because you don't get a job isn't a sign that something is wrong or you aren't good enough. So fingers, legs, and toes crossed for you. ;o))

Good luck to you Ben, and Carole is quite right... there is often the fear that you are after their jobs!!

Just you be the best you can be at the interview.
Tell us when you get it... x

Hi Carole, I've had a lovely day today.

Hi all
We have had a lovely do nothing much day!!

Walked round the local shops for the paper. came back, had coffee, did a bit on here, got ready and went out for lunch with friends for Tony's birthday. had a very pleasant lunch in the local pub, I had scampi followed by a sort of apple crumble with toffee sauce on it. Came home did a bit on the F Tree, had a G&T in the conservatory with the doors wide open looking at the garden. The sun went in very early here but it was still hot even though overcast.
Watched Emmerdale and Corrie then came back on here.

Hope you are all feeling OK.

hi Marilyn, it might be a good idea to see the doctor, can you not see a different one if you aren't happy with the one who can't speak good English? What tablets are you on? I am not sure where you are.
If you don't want to say, you can pm me, if your like, will be around for an hour or so yet.

Hi to everyone, heard from my pal's s.i.l. that she has been at the hospice since Monday, having tests since then but is ready for visitors, I don't think my friend can make it today Thursday, as she is working and I would rather us both go together. I can't go Friday as going out and all arranged so would have to make it Saturday but that might be a day people who work want to go and she won't be able to cope with lots of visitors, I know. I hope we can get in to see her while she is there - don't know how long we have really...
Did a bit of gardening today and watered everything later on, been nice weather so hope it stays that way for Friday.
Catch you all later, stay strong folks,
big hugs

I have been on a little while and I really have to leave now.... I suddenly came over quite sick.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Jul 2008 17:45

don't panic, they obviously just want to discuss the results with you and don't want you to put it off. Do as she says and make an urgent appointment. I think they must qualify appointments and urgent just means it is not routine (which could wait longer.)

Elaine, I'm with the others here.

When I go for my blood tests, the doctor will phone me up if she needs me to change something.... add or deduct some tablets. Or tell me to come down.

If it is nothing very serious, she may have a letter sent out to me to come down, or send me a new blood envelope.
BUT if you husband doctor has not been in touch... please don't worry Elaine, you are going to make yourself sicker than he was....
Will add a prayer for him tonight.... I'm a great one.... *there with my demands to God whenever I want something!!* ;-0)

Too hot in here for me and I have been in here too long.
Hope Gill is okay...has anyone any idea??

Byee all
lots of love and be well.

Carole Report 26 Jul 2008 10:20

Morning everyone. I'm feeling quite pleased with myself as last night the friends here from Holland and my oh and I went out for tea. The men wanted to go out to a pub where children are not allowed, so I took the others for a walk with our dog round the Catedral area. And I didn't have to go rushing off to find a toilet. Couldn't have done that six months ago.
So whoooa !!!!

Still very worried about our Gill, and our Joyce as I emailed her but had no reply.

Where are our men?

Prayers to Livvi, Jules ex oh's daughter who is still very poorly xx

Caz Y how are you?

What will I do today? Iron, hoover, dust, wash paint work, clean bathroom? No I think I'll get my new sun lounger out and read!!

Love to you all

Well done Carole, something is working for then.

I have heard from Joyce p, and she is okay, just needs a little time to herself I think.
She knows all about us all, so don't think she is not around... she reads us all the time.

I see you Joyce... don't think I can't see you hiding behind that computer!! love.X

See you all later... I'm going in beside my FAN... and read my lovely book... *the Island* can't stay away from it too long...
