Hi Dionne
Been reading your thread from the beginning and it has been very touching. I don't know whether it will help with regard the death found for Edwin Livermore and the question as to whether it could be your Edwin as he is listed as deceased on his daughter's marriage certificates. I have marriage certificates where the father of either the bride or groom is listed as deceased and was in fact still alive possibly listed as dead due to family rifts. Hope this is of some help with your decision as to whether to purchase the 1953 death certificate.

Best wishes
Diane

Congratulations to your son and hope all your family has a great day

Hi Dionne

I too have been following this intriguing thread and I must endorse Diane's argument for ordering Edwin's death certificate in 1953. I had been searching - for years may I add - for a death between 1861-1871 for an ancestor because three of his children, who married between that period, stated their father as deceased on their marriage certificates. I later found him on the 1891 census and a DC in 1892.

Good luck with you search.

Moody Blue found possible deaths for Edwin/Edwards parents in 1940 and 1941 (page 30). Had a look at the Probate Index today, 1940-1942, and no mention of wills unfortunately. Didn't have time to look at the RAMC history, but hopefully will do that next time.

Oh Ann.....What a shame! Was really hoping that something might show up!
Do you think that it may be worthwhile Dionne getting the parents death certificates? Whoever registered the deaths may lead to some new openings.

Yes, I know - very disappointing! I would certainly think it's worth getting at least the mothers death cert as she died last - perhaps she might be the informant on her husbands death cert.

Good Afternoon Everyone

After having a very hectic weekend I have spent the afternoon ordering more certificates.

Thankyou for the congratulations on my sons passing out parade last Friday.it was a very proud day for us all.

I have ordered the following certificates.

Death of Edwin Livermore aged 68 Ipswich
Deaths of William and Sarah (parents to Edwin)

There was a possible birth of a brother to Dorothea Edwin Livermore.dob 14th Sept 1911,death 1972 Hillingdon.

I have tried to find the full Gro referance number for this birth but have not been able to find it.Any help would be great thankyou then I can get the certificate ordered.

So fingers crossed we might gain some more information when these certificates arrive.
Im now off to answer lots of emails.
Many thanks
Dionne

Hi Dionne,

I have brought forward the first thread mentioning Edwin W Livermore (possible son)

Hi Dionne
I found this death which I think could be a previously unknown brother of Dorothea - or her father.

Edwin William Livermore - dob 14 Sep 1911 - Death Q4 1972 Hillingdon.

I've searched 1909 - 1913 for a birth for the above Edwin and.....yep you've guessed....there isn't one! But it could open up another line of living relatives who might know something about the family.

The other alternative is that it is Dorothea's fathers death. I know it doesn't sound possible but believe me I've just had one like it myself: I knew the death I was looking for was in 1961 and I knew the age was 84 - on the death cert his age is recorded as 63! with a note in the margin with the correct age, so it does happen!

Mary

Given the above information it is very likely that he is a son and maybe born in South Africa

Thankyou Bob,Brenda and Selena.

I have enough pennies to order three more certificates on the Livermores.

Do you think it would help if I were to order the marriage of Livermore to Pittuck? possible brother of Dorothea)

So far I have ordered the possible death of Edwin Livermore(Dorotheas father)

and

WIlliam and Sarah death certificates(parents of Edwin)

Ordering the marriage certificate of Livermore & Pittuck will allow you to confirm if he really is the son of Edwin senior and a brother to Dorothea and Constance. If he is, it will be interesting to see if he also has father as deceased.

Brenda.

Hi All

Thankyou for your message Bob. I agree the names are simialr but I am also having problems with the name Walter.

Brenda sent me some information on a SOUTH AFRICAN GENEALOGY site. The lady who runs it also has a interest in the military. I have sent her a very detailed email on all the information I have on Edwin William Livermore and his two daughters. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that you just might be able to help. Thankyou Brenda for the information.
I will keep you all posted.

It seems like several people, I have become 'hooked'. I have just spent the evening reading from page one of the thread to page 32.

Not sure if this is anything to do with your Livermore family, but will post it just in case, as names and area seem familiar.
