Thanks everyone, there are some headphones somewhere but the lead isn't long enough so you have to sit on the floor, and I would never get up again lol, hard enough getting up off the sofa these days lol I don't have a problem sleeping, just finding time to watch things I have recorded lol This tv is an old one his Dad gave him when ours had just packed up so not sure it will have a socket for the headphones or such, it isn't very sophisticated. It was only supposed to be for while he decided which new tv to get but here we are still stuck with it. Will see if the headphones can be used with this and then get some with long wires. Take care all, lots to do today before he gets home, have a good weekend all. love and hugs Lizxxxx

Hi gang
Did my usual stint at fhs yesterday so didn't get a chance to come on .
I am nominating myself as idiot of the year !!! Came on pc earier and shock disbelief I had no internet connection .My live box was very dead not a blink from it . Major panic how do I survive without the internet !! Phoned the expensive help line and got some man who I couldn't understand ( probably in India ) I had already checked all the cables but all the wires looked like spagetti junction .For 10 minutes we attempted to understand each other then I noticed the socket on the wall was switched off !!!!! Didn't admit that to him just muttered that I had an electrician in yesterday and he must have done something . Fortunately the electrician called later other wise I was about to accuse him of causing the problem . So people when any thing electrical won't work first check it is plugged in then make sure it is switched on !!!!! Off now to hoover up the mess the electrician left yesterday while fixing my heating .
love to you all Kathy xx

Hi all, we had a fright last night. Colleen has been complaining about her ankle seems literally for years. An Xray showd she had a piece of aneedle embedded in her heel (not where the problem is). She always has a group of veins showing one side of her ankle, not varicose veins, just a whole mess of superficial veins. the Dr has never been excited about it.But the pain's been getting worse. So last night I arrived home from work about midnight and she came down for me to assess her leg. Hot,red, swollen almost to the knee. So I stayed with the children while she went to the hosp ER. This Dr was very nice, thinks, she should have anultrasound of the blood vessels, thinks she has leaky one causing trouble, to be careful gave her bloodthinner in case of a clot, and she's to go back tonight and tomorrow night to be reassessed . I was anxious, thought she may have phlebitis or a clot and didn't dare wait till the morning. She didnt get home till 4am so I'm a bit short of sleep!!! Can't think straight, but miniMary's making me breakfast - gluten free toast with peanut butter- I can hardly wait - not - Out to the garden when we're finished. Sending hugs where needed, back when the sun's gone down, Mary

Hi
I can also kiss goodbye and say bang goes any doubts to a ancestor finding doubt. Remember I had this weirdo theory that there were two people with the same name of Thomas Roberts living in two blocks of Evelyn Buildings, same age and I might have been researching the wrong one? I also had checked ratebooks, electoral registers, death records and found that my ancestor was the only man of that name living in one of the two blocks and that area of Holborn in the 1880s. I was still unconvinced about it all even then.
Well one of his daughters Elizabeth Roberts was charged with recieving stolen money in May 1886 aged 18, and she was the same age and name as that of my Thos Roberts daughter Elizabeth. Her address was given as 22 Evelyn Buildings, Dorrington Street.
Also, when my Thomas Roberts daughter Alice wed in 1884, she put his full name as Thomas John Roberts on her wedding cert and my gggran Kate Roberts was a witness. Well when Thomas died in 1889, he was registered as Thomas John Roberts aged 76 of Evelyn Buildings, Dorrington Street.
That goes to show that worrying and doubting over things is all a waste of time and it is just stupid thicko ocd illness getting in the way.

Hey, Ben, so glad you got there in the end with the Roberts. Well done. Just remembered there is someone on the boards who is connected to that name, must tell her to look at your names and see if there is a connection. Yes, ocd is a stupid illness but we can't help having it and you are doing very well in fighting your version of it, wish I could do as well with my hoarding ocd. Do you think this has helped you realise that you sometimes worry unnecessarily? Maybe you could write yourself an affirmation of some kind based on the results of your investigations into your T.J. Roberts so you could look at it when you feel the worries coming on. Onwards to the next relly now I guess, lots of luck and keep going Ben, you are doing well. Lizx

Good afternoon everyone Horrible and wet here too, but we were expecting it as we had been forecast bad weather, (not that they are always right). Still we worked hard on the garden yesterday and it all looks lovely out there and there would not have been a lot to do today anyway. So we planned a clear out of a couple of cupboards to try and get space for the recycling boxes and bags we bought and then a tidy up of the conservatory ready for sitting out there in the summer. Having a break at the moment, cleared two cupboards and Tony is making coffee so I have popped on here.
Trouble is the sort out became more of a major job when we found the brackets on the shelves were pulling out of the wall so I have left Tony sorting that out. also found a tupperware container full of very old go bars etc so have crunched those up for the birds.
Anyway, have thrown out a lot of the rubbish of the 'why have we keep that' variety, surely there is a limit to the number of old rags we need. We went to the garden centre and bought some plants yesterday, some bedding begonia, nemesia and a couple of others, then came home and potted a couple on and planted the rest out. Also took Tony's photo about 10 times hoping to get one that is acceptable for his driving licence (he has to have a new one in July when he is 70!!!!!)
Lunch next I guess than finish sorting the cupboard under the stairs, which is actually in the kitchen. next the airing cupboard to sort out the hangers that have been breeding and finally we have promised ourselves a tidy up of the conservatory. Phew!! Hope your hands get a bit easier soon and all that are feeling down begin to feel better. Ann Glos

Hi Betty, hope you are ok my love. Lizx
Gill, I know the feeling, procrastination is my middle name and I can never clear things out, it causes so much grief for me and now my partner too as I am filling his house up. There is a programme on Channel 5 on Thursday, late, about female hoarders, I will be watching and identifying with it all I expect. Well done Ann, for sorting out so much stuff. Must try harder when I get back from hols, Lizxx Love to all, am so tired and can't go through all the names etc, please forgive me, doesn't mean I don't think about you or care. xxx

A very good morning to all you wonderful folk on this very wet, windy and woeful Bank holiday Monday morning...lots of w'sssssssssss to whet your whotsit's xxx
That sort of play on w's reminds me of a couple more saying's which date back to my childhood.. can't believe I was a child once, can you lol.
Anyway here goes......Isn't it horrid when you're hot and in a hurry, and have to hold your hat on with your hand..............
As I was walking up Hammond Hill I saw a hare run through a hole in the hedge, and I hit him on the head with a hammer I happened to have in my hand.......
sounds a bit like I am in my second childhood again, ti's me just getting my brain into motion after not posting for a couple of days... have been busy though and don't I know it. busy like a lot of you and cleaning out cupboards and drawers, the only relic I found was the stupid ass doing the clearing out.
I am blaming this cleaning frenzy on Toby, only because he is not here to defend himself, bless him.... It all started on Saturday when my daughter was due a visit from the farrier, no not for her..for her horses and she asked me to have T who was very happy to oblige.. bowls of tea, cheese on toast for breakfast, pate mixed in with his doggie biscuits for lunch and shortbread biscuits for afternoon tea, who could refuse...
During the morning our walkies took a different route, a roundabout one which lead us to the back of my place, from this angle I thought my net curtains looked in need of a wash, windows also....that was the start of my endeavours which continued through to Sunday afternoon. So set in a logical sequence of events, nets, windows, changing of bed, emptying unit drawers, bagging up of old clothes..am still in the bedroom! Then yesterday it was the turn of the lounge, in between walkies of course, all furniture was moved with T catching any spiders which decided to give up on life! bereau was emptied of more junk like bank statements dating back nearly six years (yes I am a hoarder too), old christmas cards, pens which didn't work, receipts for kitchen utensils which were no longer valid, typewriter ribbons, old headed notepaper from my last address, old packet of chewing gum which T wanted but didn't get! and loads of family photographs one of which showed me holding my daughter who was about 2 years old, she is now 50.. how time flies by xx more bags of rubbish.
Today folks it is the turn of the kitchen... why the kitchen? ti's because I work 'backwards' and rediscovered items I was not sure about got dumped in there short term...Just hope the binmen are in a good mood after their holiday break because to date I have six extra bags for them to uplift...
In between all this activity I even managed to do some research for my neighbour, I have traced his step brother who sadly had passed on and am now looking for more of his family.. anyone out there that lives in or near Burnley?..xx
Sadly I do not have Toby today, this morning after seeing the rain from his doorstep he flatly refused to leave the house. don't blame him because when daughter arrived on foot yesterday they both stood in my porch dripping wet..it was a case of towels for daughter and him to help dry off a little, he does not like the rain, tough life isn't it for a dog!...
As usual folks I am waffling on and not saying anything really positive to or for you all, but you are in my thoughts and I wish you all that I wish myself xx To those of you who have something nice planned for today, enjoy xx To those of you in pain and with heartache, be at peace xx To those stupid enough like me, happy spring cleaning xx
Before I get down to my chores it's time for breakfast, finish reading the sunday papers and start all over again.
Bye for now, love
JoycePxxxx

Morning all
Sorry that you are all having lousy weather .It was beautiful here yesterday sun shining people in t shirts and shorts and where was I stuck inside attending an AGM !!!
After it finished I walked around the shops for hours looking for a floor mop as mine broke the day before . Looks like people don't wash their floors any more . Lakeland probably would have had one but they were shut .
Phoned a friend I hadn't spoken to for about a year .She told me that her teenage son was a lot better ( I didn't know there was anything wrong with him) he has cut down on the drugs and has stopped trying to throttle her !!!! His teeth have rotted with the drugs and he now has a damaged eye .Now this was the cutest boy from a very loving home an angel compared to mine when they were little .Just goes to show it can happen to any one . Another thing shocked me yesterday a group of winos had taken over a bus shelter on the main street and were drinking their poison one even had a deck chair !! with them looking very out of it was a young girl with a toddler in a push chair .The little one wasn't strapped in and was trying to climb out .I was horrified as were other people but no one did any thing. No police to be seen any where .I felt like a coward for doing nothing but people have been murdered for interfering . My cat brought me home a baby sparrow he didn't look injured just missing a few tail feathers .I put him in a shoe box but sadly he died poor thing . I will have to bury him in the garden when the cat is not looking . Well hope you all have a nice day love Kathy xx
