Hello Everyone. I haven't been on here for ages so I thought I would put in an appearance tonight. You have probably all forgotten about me by now! In case you have forgotten me, I am the Sylvia with husband Norman, and I never do anything very interesting. Anyway, I hope you are all well and I will try to drop in more regularly. Hi everyone ,including sylvia, and Norm',now ,how could we forget someone so boring lol,i wish i was half as boring as you ,you need to spend a bit more time on these boards proving how boring you are ,and giving us a good chuckle ,and insight into your day. I just popped in to say that Snuffles turned up again last night ,and showed inteligence by staying away from the kale ,but needn't have bothered cause i had thought this might happen again ,so i removed it [the net],just goes to show ,my prickly little friend has more nonce than me hee hee. Anyway ,we have got the camcorder ready for tonight ,when we intend to take some footage of his ,or her hunting sweeps across the garden ,the camcorder has night vision ,so we can see what goes on even in the dark, and also has a camera stick with which we can take photo's with. I intend using the camera again towards the end of the month whenthe digital zoom will come in very handy to photo Mars at it's closest it has been for a long long time..Hope everyone is having a nice day ,i am off now to see what new tastes are on offer at the B.B.Q at the sons yum yum. .Might even save a bit for Mary seeing as she has'nt tried my veggie dish yet.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S.

Hi everyone. We have a nice sunny day again today, its not hot but very pleasant, The washing is blowing nicely in the breeze. Its very quiet around here today with all the young ones away.We had better make the most of it, lol. Sylvia v O, I do hope you had a better nights sleep last night. I'm pleased to hear your niece has been in touch. Fred, I am sitting here, laughing at your antics with the hedgehog. My Mum used to go mad at me for keep bringing them indoors when I was a child. When we were on a holiday in Scotland a few years back, we had a day out to Stranraer (spelling). On the main road into Stranraer, there was a hedgehog crossing the road, so I stopped my car and held up the big Pandora container lorries while I carried the hedgehog across the road. My ex son in law, a HGV driver was sat hiding his face because he said I was showing him up. All I said was 'TOUGH', lol Brenda, Gaynor still doesn't know whether or not she will have to have an operation on her spine. This last Monday, she has been for yet another MRI scan and is awaiting the results. She has had a TENS for a quite a while and it does give some relief. Judy, I too had an accident way back in 1974, a mobile crane decided to hook on to my mini and spin it round like a dodgem car. I still have pain in my neck at times. I dont think these specialists can estimate how long these injuries will trouble you. Hello Sylvia in Perth, WA. How could we forget you and Norman? I feel that I dont do anything interesting either, I hope Norman is feeling a bit better these days, has your son moved back nearer home yet? Well I suppose I had better look around to see if there is anything we can pack in boxes, I feel as though I am in a race waiting for the starting gun to go off. Have a good weekend everyone June xx

Hi everybody, Why do I always wake up early on a Saturday and Sunday? This was the case again today, so I have done a lot of jobs, even though it is Saturday. What else is a girl going to do when it's pouring with rain? I started off with making a brown loaf, then a white loaf, and to try out my new kitchen machine I made a fruit cake. I also grated a cucumber with the new machine and it grates it perfectly, unlike my other two mixers. I have washed, or at least the machine has, my grandson's numerous shirts and trousers. I must admit he really looked smart when he came round yesterday. I wonder if he feels that people really care for him now! I'm having an easy meal today. I had so much fish over yesterday. Didn't look so much in the freezer, but when it thawed was too much, so I'll make fish cakes and have it with French bread filled with herb butter and cucumber salad. Sounds ok to you Fred? Thank you. I started my ironing, but will leave that now. My YOURS magazine came today and am anxious to read it too. Time, time, time, that's all I need. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Hi peeps,i just popped on to let you know that the son came up trumps again with a lovely new sauce for sause's and burgers. He only had a few minutes last night to finish the sauces and was wondering what to do when he spied a jar of cheap mayo' hiding in the fridge,he then remembered the frozen garlic cloves in the freezer[crushed] ,so he got some out ,scooped a tablespoon of mayo' out of the jar ,scooped a tablespoon of the crushed garlic out of the bag ,and mixed the two together,i hear some peeps saying yuk ,but i tell you guys ,it's out of this world, you mix the two together let it stand for six hours in the closed jar and return to the fridge till needed.I can still remember those sausies ,and i am drooling againlol. Be back later after the main event[assuming the star turn shows up Fred.PtfA&G&G&S.

Hi Everyone, Its a lovely sunny day here, just right for a BBQ. I haven't any plans yet, I suppose I should be doing some packing. Brenda, Nice to see you even if it was brief, hope you managed to get some lunch. Sylvia v O, I hope you managed to read your magazine, no wonder you are asking for time, you are always so busy with your baking etc. Fred, I dont think your son is a chef is he? He must enjoy cooking (or is it just BBQing) he really does come up with some good ideas. I haven't much to say this morning, our time seems to be taken up with getting this house move sorted. Never again! Maybe I will pop on later. Take care everyone. June xx

Hi all, Fred that sauce your son made is like the Spanish alioli - garlic mayonaise. Of course if you make your own mayonaise then it tastes even more delicious! I got out our winter dressing gowns yesterday evening as I think there is a definite nip in the air. Yes, almost Autumn. When is summer coming? As I am typing this I am still in my nightgown. We have had breakfast but am doing this before Johan bags the computer. It seems I am on night duty and he day duty with the computer. We do have a laptop but the laptop doesn't have internet. It's ok for a few letters, but that's where it finishes. Gosh, what are we going to have for dinner. I have lots in the freezer, but it's me who will have to decide. I now have given Johan another task in the house. I bake the bread and he slices it and freezes portions in. Heh, that's good as I cannot slice bread. One slice is like a doorstep and the others so thin that they crumble. I have tried electric slicing machine, electric knife and ordinary knife, but no it's just stupid me! June, I don't envy you moving. I have moved house so many times in my life that I refuse to move any more. Johan is always ill, in hospital, or in plaster cast when we move. When I have had to move on my own I pack boxes long before of things I don't use daily. My worst move was when Johan went to Nigeria from England and I had to pack up house with 3 children under 5 years of age. I sold the car, decided what to put in storage, what to send out to Nigeria by sea and what to take with us by air, and of course what to throw away. I used to pack in the evenings when the children were in bed as I tried to keep them having a normal life. I don't drive so managed to get the neighbour to take me to London to stay with my mother for a night before we flew off. My passport needed updating - yes, the day before I was due to fly! I took a taxi from one place to another in London and managed to pull it off. I did have a Dutch passport but I needed a visum, but with an English passport I didn't and that was why I was so late. My son was very sick with asthma at my mothers house - emotion of course. Another time when we moved from London to Witney, Oxon., Johan was in plaster cast for his back so couldn't do much. The time before last he was in hospital and we had sold our house and our new house was not ready so had to hire a boat. I couldn't take everything on the boat so had to put some things in store. It would be tempting fate to move again with Johan now in his eighties I think. How I go on and on and on. My friends tell me I should have been a writer. Anyway have a nice day everybody. Sorry if I don't mention all your names, but that's my senior memory - just cannot remember you all at the time of typing. Sylvia xxx

Hello again Everyone, I am glad to hear that we are not forgotten and I will try to drop in every day if I can. The weather has been lovely here today and we went to see our eldest son and his wife this afternoon. Their son Jeffrey was there too and it was nice to see them all. We don't have many visitors so have to go visiting and it's a good job I can still drive. I was actually told by my sister today that her daughter(my neice) won't visit me when Norman is here because he talks all the time about killing himself and I am beginning to think that is the reason we don't have many visitors. It is true, he talks all the time about how he is going to do it next time, and it must be depressing and worrying for other people, although I am used to it now. You must think I am a funny wife, but honestly, I have told the doctors, psychiatrists etc. about it and there seems to be nothing they can do so I just put up with it. Our youngest son, Simon, and his family are still hoping to come back to Western Australia to live, but they have to sell their house first. I hope it won't be long, they are hoping to be here for Christmas which would be nice. Well, I must go now, back to my boring but not dull life. See you all again soon. Love to you all from Sylvia in Perth WA XX

Hi everyone, the sun is actually shining in Auckland at the moment there was rain overnight and first thing this morning. Over the past few months we have seen houses sold opposite us and behind us. We are at a point of putting our home on the market and moving ourselves as we want a smaller place but are undecided where we actually want to shift to. June, I am keeping my standard camera just hope the spare films don't past their use by date. The merged digital photo was done using the Canon camera program on the computer, Craig had done one unsuccessfully as the people in the three prints he had chosen didnot gel so we looked for other three and tried again - bingo it worked. Hard to explain but its a bit like this - person A is in the first photo and is also in second photo along with person B who is also in third photo with person C - clicking merge the photo becomes one with the duplicate people removed. Confused? I am after that I am off for a coffee. Gosh 3.42pm where has the day gone! John

Hello everyone, Will keep this brief, just to say I am renewing my membership after all. Did write a longer message on Saturday but, like Brenda, found it seemed to have disappeared. Hope this one doesn't as it may be a day or two before I can post again. My renewal being a little late I might be 'cut off' for a few days. Meantime all have good days, resful nights and be happy!! God bless Love Kathleen

Hi all, Well overslept again today - 9.30 when I woke up and the table was all laid and the coffee bubbling. You would think I did it on purpose, wouldn't you? As if I would do such a thing! Anyway, being late put me all out of sorts, so no window cleaning. I just tidied up the sitting room - just in case visitors came - and ran a washing machine. Then Annemie came downstairs for a natter. She seems to do her housework on a Sunday and Monday comes to me. In the afternoon I went out on my scootmobile as it was nice weather. I saw my 'boyfriend'. This is a man who is also on a scootmobile and loves to sit and watch the boats in the harbour. When I went past today there were some beautiful big luxurious boats in the harbour. On Wednesday I have a visitor from somebody I met on Genes Connected. She is coming with her husband for coffee. I'm looking forward to that. My grandson has just picked up his clean washing all clean and ironed. He went to one of these dance parties on Saturday, and it was outside of course. He said it was all squishy on the ground and he actually fell in the mud. I asked him where his muddy clothes were and he said 'drying'. He was thoughtful enough to say he would brush the worst of the mud off before bringing them to me as it's not good for the washing machine. I thought that showed some initiative on his part. He looks quite well now, so hope it stays that way. Now, that's all for now folks Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone, It has been a lovely sunny warm day to day. My granddaughter is back from Denmark and I have been to meet some friends for lunch. It is about 9 months since we got together so we had quite a bit of catching up to do. Sylvia v O, You and Johan make a good team with the bread I dont think I could have managed as many moves as you but on the other hand, that may be why I'm not much good at it, I haven't had enough practice, lol Sylvia in Perth,OZ, I hope Simon and his family do manage to get nearer to you soon, then you will have another son to visit. Maybe if you are able to get out more, it will take Norman's mind off the other business. Brenda, I did have trouble with Ancestry, but I emailed them as though I had forgotten my password, they sent me an email for me to change my password but I didn't need to, I just clicked on something on the email and everything sorted itself. I hope you find lots of new rellies. John, I was listening to a programme on TV today, they were saying that Ilford have closed down and other firms were laying people off now that there isn't as much call for films to be developed. I suppose we will be lucky to find someone to develop them soon which seems a pity. I have done some merging of photos, its great fun. Last Christmas I was playing around with some for Christmas cards, firstly putting a Christmas tree then adding photos of friends, unfortuneately I didn't quite get them right, so didn't send them, I will have to have another go at them. Kathleen, I am so pleased you have renewed your membership, sorry I never did find that address for you. I hope you are now sorted. well I had now better answer my emails. June xx

Hi All I am quickly writing this as we are about to get a thunderstorm, and I want to turn the computer off before we get any more lightning or thunder. I didnt finish catching up on the messages that were left but I did see where Kathleen has renewed her membership, it is good to stay on here if only for the company. My partner is going to pay up my membership too, when I said I was debating about what to do, he told me not to be silly and he was going to renew my membership for me. I had a good birthday on Saturday, David and myself along with 10 others drove to the capital city, about 2 hours away in a 12 seater bus, we stayed overnight and we went to a meeting on Saturday before coming back home, on the way home the rain started and it has hardly stopped, and it is expected to keep raining until Saturday, cant complain though as we need the rain. Well there is another bolt of lightning and clap of thunder so I am gone for now, Bye all.

Hi all, Was up on time today, and then made more bread, a banana cake and a large pan of tomatoe/vegetable soup, also some meat balls in pepper sauce. Now I can spend some time on my tree and other things. The weather looks ok albeit cold. Yesterday evening we had the central heating on again, more or less to take the damp away. Johan is pottering around downstairs in our cellar which is nice for me as I cannot do things with him around. I've just worked out that Johan has been home now retired 24 years. He is lucky to be able to say this, as many men don't live that long. Now to get on with my hobbies. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Hi everyone, Its been a lovely sunny day again, but very humid. I'm a bit late today, cant see what I have done but been at it all day. Sue, I hope the thunderstorm wasn't too bad and that there wasn't any damage done. Your birthday sounds a huge success and the rain didn't dampen your spirits. Sylvia v O, Your bread must be very good, its very much in demand with all the baking you do. The banana cake sounds very scrummy. Well I had better now look at my emails, so I will see you all tomorrow. Kune xx

Hi All June our thunderstorm was not too bad, we had warnings of flash flooding in and around our city, a few minor road accidents but it wasnt too bad. Today the rain has stopped and we have got a clear day, there is a very cold chill in the air. It is only 8 degrees celsius. A very cold southerly front has hit the state and some roads in the high areas have been closed due to snow and people were ringing the local radio station saying they woke up to snow on the ground in places that dont usually have snow. Hobart, our capital city are expecting it to snow there today, they havent had snow in the city for years, it is a good thing we went to Hobart last Friday and not this one. I believe this cold front is heading to the mainland Australia so who knows it may even snow in Omeo lol.

Hi everyone, A rather dull start today, hopefully the sun will get through. I am going to make a start on packing some glasses and crockery that rarely gets used today. Its no good leaving everything until the last minute. Then I want to go to the train station to get my ticket to Leeds for the Meetup tomorrow, so Brenda, I will see you there, as going by train will take 1 hour 40 minutes off my journey, but take more money out of my purse. lol Linda, I'm glad you are getting organised for the wedding, it all seems a long way off but its surprising how quick the time seems to go. Also, everywhere seems to get booked up so far ahead. I'm happy you have your yorkies sorted too, how many do you have? I only have one nowadays but my daughter, who lives with me, has one too. They play very well together although Bonnie is 14 years old and Beckham is 3, I think she thinks that he's her baby. Sue, I'm pleased the thunderstorm wasn't too bad but the snow doesn't sound good. The trouble when you have snow and you aren't used to it, the authorities dont usually have the equipment to deal with it. I remember when my family moved to Blackpool from Derbyshire, we were so used to deep snow in Derbyshire but the snowploughs soon got out and moved it but Blackpool came to a near standstill with only 3 inches of snow. Its a good thing you did go to Hobart last weekend. I think everyone is having a lie in this morning. I will go and make another cup of coffee, so will see you tomorrow if not before. June xx
