My friend at work has a 92 yr old MIL with dementia. My friend loves her so much. MIL fell on Christmas eve and was taken to hospital where after a few days was given a laxative, as she hadn't been . MIL would forget why she had pressed for a nurse even if she remembered why she had a button to press. Trying to get to the loo she fell and broke a bone in her leg and her spine. No sides were in use on her bed this day. Hospital policy to not use, as people are getting stuck in them. MIL is asking why her parents have not been to see her. If she has a job, and does she have a boyfriend? Latest she lifted her nightie to show her babies! Sister sugested the family give her a teddy or other soft toy. I know from listening to my friend how upsetting all this is for everyone. |
