Hazel - thats so good her chest infection has gone, and that must have been such a comfort for you to have been able to cuddle her, even though she did'nt know you. You are both in my thoughts. Take care.

Your Mum will feel better now the nasty infection has cleared, but she will just get a little weaker each day,her body has had enough now .She doesn't sound as though she is trying to beat anyone up now,so it'll be easier to give those hugs.

Oh Hazel I feel for you, I really do. One of my beloved Nans had it, such a cruel, terrible condition to have. Nan was the most intelligent person I'd ever known but she was so modest.. When my Grandad died in 1976 though, she went to pieces, and went downhill from there.

(((GENTLE HUG))) for your Mum.

Been thinking about you Hazel and hope you got some sleep ready to face whatever today brings, hope your Mum is more comfortable now without the infection and will just let go gently if she knows her Mum is waiting.
hugs for you, love,

Hi L W

I am sending you positive thoughts for you and your Mum.
Believe me I know what you are going through at the moment
I have a Brother with Dementia he is only 57 years old. He also has Motor Neurone Disease which is going to take him from us shortly. April at the longest we have been told
Both of these illness are so cruel and all you can do to help them is be there with all the love and support you can give them.
Nothing we can say can help really all we can do is support you in your time of need
There is a saying
"Don't compare your life with others as you don't know what their life is about"
Different people deal with it different ways

There is a Dementia Support Thread on CHAT if you are interested I have Nudged it up for you to look at. Some interesting stories that might help

Take Care and look after YOURSELF you will need all your strength to deal with it
Kindest Regards
God Bless
Jackie

Mum quite bright today and knew who I was, able to give herself a drink using a 'baby' cup. Staff say we are not out of the woods yet.

Thanks to all who are supporting me at this difficult time.

Lots of hugs to you and your Mum, it must be very difficult for both of you.
Sometimes you wonder how much more can you bear, but you seem to find the strength to keep going from somewhere within yourself. You are
obviously a very strong, caring lady so you will do it.I know how you feel too,my lovely Dad died 2 years ago, aged 92 with dementia. It certainly is a very cruel disease,to see someone you love become a shell, and a shadow of their former self.I still miss him.

Loving thoughts, and best wishes to you and your Mum,bless you both.

Mum is so much brighter today and sitting in reclining chair in the Day Room. Still not eating, but drinking O.K. She looks much better too.

Thanks to all who have kept Mum in their thoughts and supported me through this very hard week or so.
