	Ann, I am so sorry your poor Mum is becoming confused and not eating, hope you can keep her with you a little longer, to get through Christmas perhaps. When my friend was in the hospice a while back her sister in law was very firm with her to get her to eat and we would take in little morsels to tempt her as well as encouraging her to order different things from the kitchens, so that she could eat a little. It's so hard to see your loved one not eating as that is the basic nurturing thing in us women especially I think, and to have her not recognising folk is sad too. I hope she can be kept painfree as much as possible but will be a little more alert when you see her next. Bless her, she has done so well, Lizxx

Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 735 Send Message	Today would have been mums 59th wedding aniversay, she unfortunately is unaware of the date. i have spent the last 48 hours at her bedside, only coming home to shower and change, on Monday morning just as I was leaving to go to the hospice, we got THE call from them saying unfortunately she had passed away, the nurse was stood at mums bedside, and as she spoke, she must have come back to us, as she said wait she hasnt gone, get here asap, so i have been there ever since. One of the elders from the church was there and he said to me he had never seen anything like it, she had no pulse and her pupils were dilated. I just dont know what to think. At 4.00am this morning she woke and was halucinating and was in such a state she was screaming, shouting and crying, they had to give her a sedative, but it took 4 nurses to hold her down, it was very distressing for everyone. Her time is now very close, so I am not sure when I can leave my next message, but thank you all for your thoughts and prayers Ann
