All that talk about Sylv's special bars is making me peckish.....mmmm....what have I got in? Anyone like Thornton's Butter Tablet? I absolutely adore it.

I have never tried it Cynths but you have spoken of it before so the next time I get into town I will buy some!!

It must be lovely if you recommend it !

didn't see the Opening Ceremonies ......... was still in bed when they were on TV :)))


Glad you liked Nanaimo bars Dea ....... they were first made in (gasp) a town called Nanaimo on Vancouver Island .......... which is where we are spending next weekend.


Butter tarts are also a Canadian delight .... I have a wonderful recipe for Butter Tart bars which I used to make all the time. The base for the bars is a a different pastry, and the bars are easier to pack into lunch bags.

Just had, tortilla. Fried spuds, onions, garlic and peppers, mixed together with eggs in the frying pan

....and the spud skins baked with olive oil in the oven..yum and healthy
