Can you give me details from the marriage cert please?witness names and also ocupation of father Thomas.How do you know mother was called Elizabeth?

Hi witnesses were E simmonds and M castle.faters name henry castle and thomas simmonds. the E COULD BE elizabeth her mother . just found out nellies real name is edith ellen.On the 1891 census .edith was 8.she was born 1892. she was known as nellie.still cant find the sisters on any ather sencus together.

If Edith Ellen was born in 1882 she would not have been on the 1881 census.Frances is not on the 1891 census Edith is listed on so they would not appear together.I have looked at the 1881 and there is a daughter Emma listed born 1868 in Banstead Surrey.This looked like a poss for her birth record

Hi michelle its me again been looking most of the day found emma on the 1881 cecsus. it must be her its the some mum and dad to her sister edith ellen.she is listed as living next door to the balchins. realy ethringtons but took mums name of balchin?? in the 1901 census she is living with amos ethrington balchin she wed him in 1909.after her husband john castle died . on that sencers her birth is 1874 kingswood. in 1927 she wed william skinner in portsmouth . she was my dads mum. been looking for when she died it was about 1950 to 55. Hampshire my be fareham.cant find her she should be in the name of skinner .tried castle and balchin.never mind i give up on her now thanks for your help .emma aned ethith must be real sisters.wasent shore when i couldent find her.thank again for your time ,june

Can you check out for Thomas McSorley, my great gandfather, on the 1871 census. He was born on 14th June 1862 in Bolton and died on 20th August 1901 in Wigan.

On the 1881 record he's living with his aunt [married name Baxendon] and his siter in Wigan, the name is spelt McSirley.

Regarding the 1871 record he may be in Bolton or Wigan. His father died in 1871 and his mother was already dead so he may have moved to Wigan where most of his relations were living.

His siblings were, Hugh c:1853, Joseph c: 1849 - 1902, Mary c: 1859 - 1925, and James c: 1867.

His Aunts and Uncles were Ellen c:1833 [married Baxendale/Baxendon], Henry c:1838, Mary c:1833 [recorded living in workhouse after her parents died]

Have you had any luck with my gt grandmother with her 2 surnames, McCannah or Goulston. I have searched under both surnames as well as her father's names with no luck.

Hi Michelle. This is more like the Berlin Wall to me. i cant find my greatgrandparents on either the 1881 or 1901 census, his name was Samuel Joseph Williams born abt 1857 Leedstown Cornwall her name was Maria James born abt 1858 Breage Cornwall. Sam was a miner no occupation for Maria, the 1891 and 1911 census they are living in Millom Cumberland with children . Edith J born in 1881. sam and maria married in 1880 Bootle Cumberland vol 10 b page 904 (Millom?) i was sent the wrong marriage cert so have to send it back to find where they were actually living at the time. some of their other children from the1911 census are james abt1887 John 1889 mary1883 Edith J 1881 samuel1882. Hope the new job is going well and don't want to add to your workload, when you get a chance perhaps you can have a look at the census, you found him on the 1841, Islington, London, but there is no sign of him or his family after that. Even if he has died there should be either his wife or his son Henry James on the census. I would be grateful for your help on this as I really am at that Brick Wall.
