hi michelle,i am trying to find out the birth of frank whitehouse, father of charles henry who was born 1919.in birmigham.I know his mother was called mary miller,i am trying to fnd her birth as well,as these would be important dates with in my tree.

sorry for the confusion, it was Thomas McSorley who was transcribed to Thomas Marsh in the 1861 census plus his family.

Could you look up another Thomas McSorley, the others son, born in Bolton in 1862. I have him in Wigan in 1881 living with his aunty married name Ellen Baxendon and his sister Mary Jane McSorley.

Could you check for him in the 1871 [could be in Bolton or Wigan] his dad Thomas died in Bolton in 1871, and in the 1891 and 1901.

In both cases i know he was living at 77 Warrington Road, Ince, Wigan.

He died on 20th Aug 1928 at 91 Warrington Road, Ince

With regards to births of parents their are a few possibles and without their age at marriage we have no idea when they were born so would not be able to be sure we have the correct people Del.

Here are the choices and if i was having to guess would say the 2nd one but Genealogy and tree making should not be based on guess work so you will need to get the marriage cert to see ages at marriage and also father's names.This will then make it easier to find them on the census records and get correct birth records for them.

The date of the marriage was 28th May 1882. The witnesses were William Lawson and Mary ?????? It looks like Vimto! However, I think it could be Vintro ....it's her mark and it's not well written unfortunately.

The places of birth on the census image are dittoed after Thomas so could well be as the 1871.I would say children were born in Lancashire.

Sorry with only 1 census 1861 to work off i can't be certain who the parents are.You will need to get the marriage cert and with her father's name she will be easier to find.

The problem is their are Anne's and Annie's with the same surname and Yorkshire birthplaces and as the marriage record as a mistranscript of her 1 st name makes it tricky.
