Marriage of 1896 for Elizabeth shows as Sarah Elizabeth 1901 is not showing her.What was Fred's birthplace Kath?There is a death in 1897 of a Elizabeth Sarah Atkins in the Lewisham area.Have you any further info on Fred so i can try looking for him please?

I wonder if you can help me with another twig on my tree please. The details I have were given to me by a cousin who is in her 80's - and the info is how she remembers it!

I have a William MOLYNEUX - born Hindley, Wigan Lancashire who married Alice [Atherton ?] . William died on 14 May 1950 - Alice died 12 October 1949 both in Durham

Willam and his brother Jim [James] and their respective wives [and possibly children] moved from Hindley to Framwellgate Moor, Durham sometime round the turn of the century.

William & Alice had 3 daughters and 6 sons [according to my cousin] The only ones I have found are:

1. Florence born c1895 - she married George William Harrison in 1919 [the [m/cert shows her age 24]

2. Beatrice born 1906 married Henry Alford Bone in 1926

3. Violet born 1909 married Robert Adamson Jaques/Jacques in 1931


James and his wife had 4 sons - Tom, Norman [c1909], Wesley and unknown !
I have checked FreeBMD, Lancashire BMD, Durham BMD but have not been able to find a marriage for William Molyneux & Alice Atherton

If you can find any details I would be very grateful.

Thank you for the info from the 1901 census for Maria Harwood & family. The other sister 's marriage is suspect, I think I may have some wrong info. I can't find her death as Elizabeth Harwood so the brick wall looms once again. Could you look for another Harwood on the 1901 census. This one is David Harwood born c1854 Fleet, Lincolnshire. His wife is Lydia Jane Lawton c 1855 Fleet, Lincolnshire and after living inRedcar, York, for a while the family moved to Middlesborough where at least 2 daughters were born. 1. Lydia born c1884 and 2. Florence born c1887.
Any help you can give is much appreciated.

She is the 1 who married in 1896 i presume in Wisbech

I did find a Elizabeth Harwood on the 1901 married and i was soooo excited cos there was a brother James Harwood in the house also and i looked back at him to see if it was your Elizabeth and appears there was 2 James Harwoods born around the same time and near each other as i found this chap on the 1881 with his sister who was called Elizabeth but she was born 1871 same as the 1901 i had found.

Thank you for the details of the Molyneux family.

According to my cousin her grandfather William's brother was always referred to as 'Uncle Jim' - she has no idea what his given name was. :(

However ....

I had a look on the 1881 census for William Molyneux born c1873 in Ince [that was the info from the 1891 & 101 that you found]....... there are loads of William Molyneuxs - but only one born c1873 Ince. :))

The 1881census shows:

They were living at Stafford Street, Hindley and the details you posted on Alice shows they were living in Frederick street . I had a look on google maps - stafford street and frederik street and about a third of a mile apart !


Do you think they could be the right william and alice ?

Hi Michelle, I have a problem with James WAY or James Winter WAY in the village of Tolpuddle Dorset. There mabe have been two James's, maybe one with people getting confused. James Winter WAY got married twice so he was using that nam just a bit ...

I think there were two, one born 1773, the other born 1778 (He was buried in Tolpuddle 1857).

Please can you check for a James or James Winter WAY on the 1841 and 1851 to see if James Winter WAY was using that name and who was with him at that time?

I became quite confused by yours if im honest.I found the daughter born 1895 and thought bingo cos the parents names matched the 1's you gave me.Saw the poss brother next door and thought yep i will go back to the 1881 and see James(Jim)????But no??So hence why i asked you whether the name for James was correct?It just all seems so right the 1901 cos there are also boys there and you said there was up to 6.

Does anyone know who James? married.Would really help to know.And in answer to your question i would say only way to know re marriage cert is to obtain it and see who the father's are listed as.Cross fingers for Richard!
