Morning all, well it's a beautiful sunny day today, but bitterly cold wind, the grass is showing in spots, I am absolutely stuffed from our brunch at the "maple sugar shack". huge pancakes, with butter and maple syrup, scrambled sggs, fried spud chunks, sausages and baked beans, and a heaping helping of maple syrup. Had a walk through the wood, saw the trees being tapped (by long plastic tubes now, unstead of buckets), saw the processing shed, and of couse came home with a supply of syrup and honey and maple lollipops. Funnily enough, the children were all proven highly sensitive to cane sugar when they were tested, but maple syrup is fine. A good outing and I didn't lose anybody. sarah was really good for once, enjoyed the hay ride, squealed most of the way, gareth thought it was a train and kept asking "where Thomas?".. I took my ash walking stick, which I bought in the Lake district in 1960! A couple of people asked about it!! Now I have to get ready for work, hugs all round. Mary

HI everyone I'm back from IOW.Just had a quick look through the last 20 pages!! posted since I have been away. I am so sorry to hear of Joyce's death RIP Jenny, I am so glad you have come onto this thread, it is a great help to all. After reading what you have gone through I guess you must have had a very low point that made you need to get it all out. My problems stem back to my childhood also, but gradually over the years I have been able to talk about certain things, the more you talk the easier it gets, then you start to manage the problem, takes time though. I find something triggers me off and I get real bad but now I know when it is happening, can't stop it but it does mean that the periods of deep depression get longer in between. Hi Angela, glad to meet you. Well IOW went quite well but mum and I have decided that this will be the last time we go to take flowers to the Solent for dad. We have been 5 times now and the journey is getting too much for both of us. Takes us nearly a full day. Mum is not an affectionate person but she felt it knowing this was a final goodbye. Been to see her today and she isn't feeling well at all. anyway, much love to everyone, hope you all have a good Easter, hugs to all and see you tomorrow Janet

Hi gang, just got up an hour ago, fell asleep at computer so went for a nap. Hi Jenny and Angela glad you are still with us, You sound a bit brighter Jenny, has your oh found out yet about glasses? My oh has to take me so he knows the price before we come out of shop, I have vary focals though, not much help as I am nearly blind in one eye and I haven't got used to compensating for it yet.
Can I have a big moan? I am in so much pain I don't know where to put myself. It is the new one that doctor thinks is FM, can't sit down, can't stand up, walking is bad as is it but this is not nice at all. I have taken some Nurofen but it doesn't seem to be helping, when hubby gets back from papershop I will get into a nice hot bath and hope it relieves it. My leg spasms have been going non-stop since I got up at three this morning, I feel drained by it, ( got up because of pain). Does anyone else have this pain and if so what do you do to ease it? I wouldn't care but I don't even know what FM is, hubby is back so will go and have a hot soak. Sorry to be so miserable but I honestly don't know what to do.
Caz xx

This might seem a little silly. But I answered Ann in Gloc. on another thread about my next holiday, but got carried away thinking I was on this thread.
No I have not had a drink Lol.
Rather than type it all out again, once I had realised my mistake, I have copied and posted it on this thread.
Hope you get the drift. Jenny.
Today at 17:39 Hi Ann, hope your feeling much better and getting around more.
Yes, I am still stunned, and this is me that vowed she would never fly. Until Hubby went to Portugal in January with his mates for 4 days and told me how lovely the Algarve was. I got so jealous and said "right I want to go" it was booked withing 4 days of him returning and as you know we spent 5 days there and got to meet Lindy in the Algarve and her Husband. Which reminds me, I owe her a long email which is much overdue.
We fly to Palma pick ship up, then onto Sicily, Naples, Florence, Toulon and Barcelona. Then a flight from Palma back to Newcastle.
Yes, I bet some folks are wondering why I am depressed. ?????
Depression can hit all sorts of folks. This is why I have failed to accept for a long time, that I am depressed. My doctor told me 12 years ago, that it was probably delayed depression from when I lost my first Husband. He did prescribe Prozac, but like a fool I only took them for a few weeks and stopped. Moved up to the North East and was fine for a few years. I did see my Dr. last year and he prescribed something, but I only took one because i felt so ill with it. This is what I cannot understand, I have virtually everything I have always wanted.
Ok, I am 200 miles away from my two eldest Daughters and 4 Grandsons. I miss the popping in for a cuppa and chat etc.
But for want of a better word, I have always had to work hard ( I am a Grafter) Now I dont have to. I am a lady of lesuire (sp) and getting very idle. It was an ordeal to go to get my eyes tested today, it is an ordeal to get ready to go out. I can't make my mind up if the Rescue Remedy spray is working or not. Ok, I was glad to get home, but probably because of the snow and wind here.
One day I can be as 'Happy as Larry' another day really down in the dumps and sit and cry. I can't sleep for more than 4 hours at at time.
Do you know when I am at my happiest??
When I have been out and had a good food shop!!!!!!!
I have never been a person that spends loads on clothes, make-up, perfume etc. Although I do like the occasional clothes shop.
I am Fuddy Duddy, old fashioned and really very boring. Lol.
Jenny x

Good evening one and all xxx.
Decided I was not going to post anymore....well not until the 3000 posting was within my grasp, am still sukling lol. Calculated how long it would take to reach that number and grew impatient..
But then, me being me, who is usually so quiet and peaceful could not help myself but say a few words because you all tug at my heart strings....oh sh-t I hear some of you say, what is coming next!!!!!!!
Tis okay because I have decided to turn over a new leaf and behave myself, as a lady should (can anyone tell me How a lady really does behave?).......
Enough of waffling, so down to business..
Carole.. I really do forgive you for pipping me at the post of 2000..but watch your back when 3000 is approaching, and I am not talking about the year 3000 either..lol.
Ann G... knew you were willing me to succeed, thanks lass....
Angela... welcome to our thread, please stay and enjoy xxxxx
Jenny...Do you think your hubby would finance some glasses for me, would be most grateful lass..hope you are having a 'happy' day xxx
Janet.... Nice to see you back posting xx
Gill....Thanks for being there for Malc and listening to his problems of benefits..was reading one of your earlier postings of today when you spoke about the sky and all the different colour changes.. I cannot believe the change in you since your first posting...then you were a caterpillar who has turned into a beautiful butterfly and found her wings..brilliant...keep posting and helping others...xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Deanne...Thank you for your intended help to assist me to become the 3000th poster..now why don't I believe you?.. you will be sitting there, finger poised and ready to pip me to the post, yes... it takes one to know one and I am already one step ahead of you.xxxxxxxx
Caz....now where do I begin...I could not really hide you in a suitcase and transport you to warmer climates, sea breezes and sand...why.. because with all the pills you take you would rattle too much and give the game away, love you xxxxx maybe I could visit and bring one of my fresh fruit salads for your supper, along with the champagne of course...then to liven things up further you could also invite Joyce (Dutch)...I can quarantee you would not need pills but certainly lots of tissues to mope up the tears of laughter. Next session of computer course is not too far away and I hope to have many more funny snippets to relate to you. I was speaking to the wife of the bloke who was told to practise aiming his arrow dead centre...he has now been banned to the spare bedroom just in case he gets ideas above his station.lol. just take care lass xxxxxxx
To everyone I have missed out on I send my love...
See!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can be a goodie and not tease too much....well not tonight anyway!!!!
Will love and leave you all to what hopefully will be a peaceful and sleepy night....

Oh Joyce please don’t turn into a goody goody, you keep me cheerful with your posts. We will have to be very alert when we are approaching the 3000 mark, can’t have you crying into your cocoa! Visions of check in rattling your suitcase and out tumbles Caz!!! Mary, glad you enjoyed your breakfast it sounded scrumptious, I love maple syrup (and pancakes) Jenny, holiday sounds good, very relaxing yet a lot to see. It sounds as if, like me, it is the company you miss really. I would love to live nearer to either of my children and their families. Both are an hour and a half away from us. Gill, good to see you still posting, loved your description of the weather earlier. Think we all had it the same.
Caz, have you looked at the fibromyalgia thread? My sister suffers from FM and some days her legs are so bad she goes nowhere at all. She has a stairlift and a disabled badge for the car and drives an automatic. It is a painful disease but nobody seems to know much about it. I guess it is much like MS. You moan all you like. I hope a hot bath did the trick for you. Pain is so debilitating. Sister goes to pain management group which seems to help.
Janet probably a good decision to not go any more to the IOW. You have done it for 5 years and I am sure your Dad would understand. Why not do as my Dad did with my Mum. He hung a photo of her on the wall and always had a vase of flowers under the photo.
Liz and Angela, hello.

Good morning to one and all and a very Happy Easter sunday too xxxxxx
My posting of this moring is in a very sombre mood, reason being....
At this moment in time my daughter is travelling up to Coventry in the cab of a large horse transporter. Her horse Sisko is being transported to new stables where he will be reunited with his old pal, Major.
Major and Sisko are arab stallions who to say the least are handsome beasts and dearly loved. They were parted when my grandaughter moved to Coventry three years ago taking Major with her, Sisko missed him so much.
The reason my daughter has had to to take this drastic step of handing over her beloved four legged friend is in keeping with this thread..arthritis being the offender. it started up roughly three years ago and is getting progressively more painful, she finds it restricts her ability to handle, groom and ride him...in her own words she say's she has to be fair to him because he needs to be ridden and jumped.
Initially he will miss my daughter.. of drinking her cups of tea each morning and listening to her singing to him when he is in one of his prancing moods (her nickname at the stables is 'horse whisperer') but the problem for her is missing him, tis like giving away ones child, sad.........
At least she knows he will be well looked after and will soon settle, he will also meet up with another friend of his named Primrose, who is a shetland pony..she was moved the same time as Major...
Just hope they do not start exchanging cats.. both my daughter and grandaughter have four cats each...talk about animal lovers in our family, tis lovely to have animals who love you unconditionally.....
As you can imagine I have fingers and toes crossed that weather conditions are favourable for the journey and that any road rage drivers keep their distance.. it takes my daughter about 1.1/4 hrs to reach Coventry from Essex but the trailer and precious load, probably 3 hrs.....
I have packed up a few goodies for my grandaughter who's birthday is on the 26th, she will be 28...so it will be nice for mom and daughter to meet up and spend the day and night together...the soon to be son-in-law will bring my daughter home some time tomorrow...
So sorry to disappoint any thrill seekers who might be looking for a good laugh, or even cry, this morning.... too busy crying myself lol......
Catch up with you all later...remember to behave yourselves and don't do anything I wouldn't do.....which means you have poetic licence to make whooppie. xxxxx

Aww Joyce, don't be sad, I know how hard it is for you and daughter but what you told me on phone Sisco will be better with Major. You will miss them like crazy but think of Sisco when he sees Major again and little Primrose. You are not our Joyce this morning so if I could put myself in the post and send me down to you I would. As for being in a room with you and Dutch wouldn't it be funny. I am still laughing when I think of her description of a perm she once had, she looked like a Jackson brother of the 70s but white hair. Sorry if you see this Dutch but I have blurry eyes just thinking of it again lol lol.
Hi to everyone else, Ann I have had a quick peep at the thread you mentioned, but I want to be able to tell the rumatologist my symptoms as I have them. I might think,Oh yes I have that, and that happens to me, does it make sense? Sorry for the moan yesterday but I was at my lowest ebb and didn't know what to do for the best, I'm used to pain but blimey, that was awful. The hot bath eased it for a bit anyway. It's funny you should say it is like MS, that is what the neurologist thought I had at first, there is just something missing to prove it.
Woke up this morning at 5-30 so all the painkillers knocked me out. Looking outside everything is white and the sky heavy with a load more snow.
Jenny your description of yourself fits me to a T, and I have to keep my freezer stocked because I'm frightened of running out of food if Hubby is ever poorly, not being able to go out myself. Don't know how I will manage without my tall freezer in new flat cos I will have to have a fridge/freezer instead. I will have to stop doing meals for four and freezing half as I do now.
Mary I have a distinctive walking stick for round house as well, its all knobbly with a big knob for hands, my hand fits it lovely and comfy but physios keep trying to make me have an old ladies one. One brought it to my house and said I should use mine downstairs and leave new one at top for use upstairs. I've never used it, when I fall downstairs my stick is the one thing I try to save , I love it.
Hope everyone else is ok and having a good Easter with lots of chocolate, I'm still ploughing through Christmas ones.
Got a quite few pms to answer so I will be a bit slow but will get there.
Caz xx

Ann rescue remedy is a thing you get at the health food shop along with bach flower remedies. I use to use it in drop form, it is now available as a spray. Hope that answers your question.
Good morning all, lots of snow here in Lincon.
Normal Sunday for us, dinner then try to get to see my parents. About five mile away
Joyce your daughter is being very brave she knows she is doing what is best for the horse she loves so much. It will be upsetting for you all but he is in good hands.xxx
Y Caz hope you soon get to the bottom of the cause of your pain xx
Scooby pleased you got your trip over before the snow arrived! xx
Jenny to start flying is a big thing when you have anxiety problems. But the holiday that awaits the other end makes it worth the worry! Hope you continue to fly xxx
Love to all xx

Hi
yes, lots of snow here in Norfolk.
I am getting better at resisting these exhausting OCD rituals. I hate doing them and sometimes these mental ones can take up to 100 times before I get it "Just right". I am not allowed to think about it being OCD while I am doing the mental ritual, and even if I get it right, if my brain doesnt decide it is right after a few seconds, I have to redo the ritual again.
But I am managing to resist them as I know there is no link between OCD rituals and bad things happening. It is unlikely something bad will happen but if I did dent my car or crash into a hedge, that would not be because I didnt complete or do a ritual.

Ben, hi, wondered where you were. Glad that you are managing to explain to yourself that there is no connection between bad things happening and rituals. keep persevering and come back here and let us know how you are coping.
Joyce we don't just wan to see you on here for your jokes and to make us laugh. we like to see you for yourself. Sorry about your daughters horse. think what fun he and Major are going to have when they meet up again.
Carolina, hope your granddaughter's cold is better soon. How old is she? Nice that she loves her Grandad so much..
Gill, Hope you got safely to church and home again. No snow here, but we rarely get it in the Severn valley.
YCaz, I know what you mean about reading the symptoms on the thread, all i meant about reading it is that it is like this one, a great support thread for people who suffer with the same illness.
Carole, hope you had a safe journey to your parents, i hate driving in snow, other people are so unpredictable and there are some idiot drivers around.
Liz, go round to writing another long scrawl yet? Perhaps if it is a long post, better to copy it when it is halfway finished, you would only lose half then!!!
