Very quickly I just want to send warm Christmas wishes to all. I have sent some cards now but they will be late. I am so far behind, feeling quite weepy today for no big reason, had a difficult evening at work yesterday - an unexpected death and a staff injury - , the house is a disaster, I don't seem to have time to breathe, my son is coming home for 2 days and he'll think I've turned into a slob. I have all the veggies for Xmas but the turkey will need a pal cooked with him as it's too small. have done no baking despite buying all the ingredients. Sorry to be down, It's not a good hour, but in another hour I have to leave for work, guess I'll be shopping at 3AM again tomorrow, after this evening's work. I sincerely send good wishes, don't mind me, thanks for listening. Mary

I wish I could add everyone to my list as INNISHFREE has done, but it is such hard work for me these days. BUT.... you all know that I am thinking of you all and wishing you a very very happy Christmas.
All is doing all the cooking and Tony has been *lepin around* as Allan would say, helping Allan with all the shopping. He will be down at 3.00 to see Lisa and the baby and exchange pressies. Allan is in the kitchen doing the turkey..... and pinching nibbles from the ham he cooked this morning..... which is his Christmas tradition... ha ha ha... He was so tired yesterday and the Kitchen cupboard needed tidying and washing... so I did it while he was asleep! I suffered... . Headache (bad one) the first for a long time and I hurt my back... No more pushing myself... I will be letting my body tell me when I am ready. I suggest you all do the same folks....LOL
I bought very little this year, as I could not muster the energy.... so how come I have a pile of stuff in the living room still to be wrapped???? BECAUSE.... Tony keeps seeing things he thinks someone might like!!
Have a wonderful holiday all of you, and those of you who are ill I wish that you will be well for the new year. Lots of love, Deanna XXXX

Eileen, the add button doesn't work, you have to use the reply button (purple) at the top.
Deanna, Will you please learn and slow down? Caz, good to see you on here, thanks for the message from Joyce. Joyce if you are peeping I am sorry you are poorly, please get well and come back and see us you are so much missed by all your friends on here.
Mary, Oh dear, you do sound stressed. I hope that you manage to get everything done and that people realise that you too need a rest and are not wonder woman.
Kathy, just don't buy Woolworths gift vouchers!!!
Gail you are at Christmas day already, hope you have a good one. Is it hot there? Damp and grey and chilly here today.

Happy Christmas to everybody.
We have been out and erected the Christmas present for my dad.It is a bird feeding station,a rod for my own back because I bet you can't guess who will have to replenish it every day.
It is right in front of the window so it is visible as soon as the carers pull the curtains in the morning. With a bit of luck and a following wind he might notice it before March!
Having found that we can get him on the bus we were all able to go to a cafe in the next village and have a meal at lunchtime today. The first time in nearly three years that we have been able to do that.
Unforunately he has started to develop a taste for shopping. Now he is going out and gaining confidence he is choosing things in the shops. It's only socks and underpants and toiletries at the moment but I dread to think what he may develop an eye for next!
I was despatched to buy my own present yesterday. One of those cast iron casseroles in Aldi,oh lucky me! I think the capacity for dumplings had something to do with the choice.
Oh well, mustn't grumble (why not FGS!?) hope you all have the best possible Christmas.

Oh you wonderful people, all looking out for each other.
Betty, was lovely to have your call this Christmas morning, just, sorry I was not withit, having dozed off in front of the midnight service!
Sharron, you are a star with your Dad, how lucky he is to have you.
Deanna, your Tony is a brill son, and you have done so well, so don't undo all the good now by pushing yourself too hard, I think you have learned now.
To everyone else as I am too tired to think straight so will miss half of you out if I try any more messages, hope your Christmas is as good as you can make it, and as someone said, it is only one day, and the shops open again tomorrow lol take care, and enjoy as much as you can. love to all and especially my friend Mary, I hope you have some time to rest and enjoy your visit from your son, he knows you aren't a slob and will understand I am sure. lots of love everyone, we are all so linked with our worries and support, one big family that we can chose, not get stuck with!

Well it's Christmas morning here about 1230am. I've just had a message from my cousin in New Zealand that my much-loved uncle passed away on Christmas Eve. As they are 18 hours ahead of us, his death coincided with my sudden weepiness on Tuesday, coincidence or??? I feel so sad, but will pull myself together for the family in the morning. I'm so mad at myself, wretched procrastination - didn't post my uncle's Christmas card, until this week and now it's too late. Lovely to have my son home for 24 hours, I was hoping for 3 days, but can't be selfish.
Lots of hugs all round, may your Christmas be happy and provide some wonderful memories to be stored. group hug, Mary

Just a quick hello as time for bed. Has been a huge day and ended up only about 32 centigrade which was very nice and not too hot.
Had a wonderful day and ate tooooo much.
It probably seems odd to most of you being hot here and freezing in Canada and UK. I would not have it any other way and have never know any different.
We had lunch and dinner out side. Have a pergola like set up over run with wisteria vines. This year the wisteria has flowered twice and decided to put on a lovely show for Christmas. Lots of joy and laughter from the young one's this year so really made my day.
MERRY CHRISTMAS for the rest of today to every one of you.
For me it is time to say goodnight as worn out.
Love and hugs
Gail

Hi
I have taken a break from the site for a while to get better. I have not been ruminating over my family tree at all.
Having taken a break from this line, Finally, I know beyond doubt that the Roberts story is true. He WAS the father. That is why he wed the mum just after the birth and baptised the child as his. One man said the baptism is probably the most important piece of evidence. The reason behind the initial illegitimacy was the fathers wife had just died after a long illness and he had no choice but to wed the mother after the birth. Everything has fallen into place. Around 30 other people say it is so plausible and watertight and that there is NOTHING to contradict it.
It is just OCD trying to ruin good things.

Mary sorry to hear about your uncle. I did the same last year didn't bother to go see someone, just put a card in the post. Then found this family friend of years had died. This year I did go see his widow. She was feeling down but by the time I left she said how nice it had been to talk and stir up old memories. I was so pleased to have seen her. Hope you had a lovely time with your son there with you all. xx
Deanna let your body tell you what you can do, don't push it! We are so pleased to have you back, we don't want you doing yourself any injuries and going off again. xx
Liz hope you had a good day with your son there. xx
Kathy was it gift vouchers? xx
I sat eating dinner opperset my daughter yesterday. I nearly started to cry as she was away in Australia last year, and Japan the year before. To have her with us was precious.
Hope you all had a good dinner and warmth of your family xx

Boxing Day now completed, more excitement as my grandson threw one of his Mum's new drinking glasses onto the ceramic floor, (the ones she received for Xmas to replace the ones he had already broken) where it made a lovely 'ping' sound, then he walked through the broken glass in his bare feet and I spent half the afternoon in the emergency dept with him, as his Mum had driven her brother back to Toronto. The little man was incredibly good, came home with a massive bandage for a small injury,on a small foot, the doctor was hoping it would deter him from removing it. Good intentions, the bandage was off, in bits, within the hour. Please someone send me a boring day. Tomorrow is my last shift as a full-time position, next week I reduce to part-time and hope to stay afloat. Instead of 5 days a week, I'll do 7 in 3 weeks. Hope everyone's Christmas was more peaceful than mine, sometimes one just feels out-of-control, despite the best efforts of mice and men. I'm really hoping that reducing my work schedule will make me feel better and more in control. Best wishes for the New Year to all. I have some lovely turkey and stuffing leftovers, if anyone would like some. Mary
