If I could show you I would, it is the size of a golf ball. It feels like the size of a pumpkin, the way I am tilted in my chair it is definatly a pumpkin.

Thanks Rose/Ann, will give it a try.

PS I it gets any bigger and I tilt in my chair I am going to fall off it.

I have trouble getting up off the floor, and do not feel like crawling around on all twos until hubby comes home after midnight.

Well how do you think that would look to the neighbours, sending and SOS out to get me up while laughing my head off.

Deanna Report 13 Aug 2008 11:57

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

I have just had a lovely time reading all the last two pages.
Have I missed something nasty then?
I did join in on a thread which said something about moaning... but pointed out how supported we all feel on here.
And we do.
Thank you for that Carole... I agree with you Joy, she did us all a favour.
and BLOOD???? You were bleeding and I was not here to hug you in your hour of need?
I'm sorry Carole... X

Betty, ST JOHNS WORT... what a helpful lady that EG must be.
I heard a doctor on TV a while ago, saying that St Johns Wort should NOT be taken without first speaking to your doctor.
I can't remember why, but it does seem that even herbal medicines can react against other things we may take.
For instance if we are on WARFARIN we cannot have CRANBERRY JUICE.
Now who would believe something like that could kill us?

Gail, I too can't see the point in knocking a thread which hurts no one and helps so many of us.

Ann... a boil? Laugh? ME? Never. tee hee.
But do go to the doctors all of you with boils... it is a sign that you are run down.
Run down.... us? not at all. ;-0)

Elaine, hang on in there love, they will fix him up and find out why he is not on his feet yet.
Do you think that he may have tried to push himself too hard at the beginning?
I know what men are like, they do not make good patients do they?

Mac Anne.... nice to see yah... to see yah nice! X ;-0)

Ann g.. I am freezing here. I am sleeping so very well these days... unusual lately.. so perhaps I slept through and it is October??? Certainly cold enough.

Anita and Gill and Joyce p.. thinking of you.xxx

And who was it, oh Gail I think ... who mentioned bread poultices?
My granny used to swear by them, as most grannies did then, and she used to amaze me by showing me how a piece of white bread would stop me bleeding if I fell!
What an amazing granny she was in my eyes.

Well my lovely pals, Allan is home now so I had better go and speak to him.
What a wife I am... he comes in I say hello, and leave him on his own in the room!! Don't know why he stays with me?? ;-0)

Have a great day, and look after yourselves.

Oh yes... and I'm fine today... or did you notice? ha ha ha

lots of love to all,
Deanna XXX

Oh NO, my boil is now a carbuncle. See I told you all it was like a pumpkin.

So looks like a trip to the doctor for antibiotics. Do not get me wrong, doctor is a lovely chap, but will not look at it there as is a devout Muslim.

Oh my bum :<((((((

You are right Lady Rose it did sting.

Gail, I was just about to suggest that your 'boil' was a carbuncle. My aunt used to get a lot of these on the back of her neck. Have not heard of anyone having these things for yonks. It must be very painful! How can a doctor give a dianosis if he can't look at the 'nether regions'.?
As for St. John's Wort, well, you have all said it.Great if it works for those with a mild depression.

My youngest phoned me a couple of hours ago, when I was in the middle of making nectarine jam, to ask if I would go there tomorrow, stay with her this time, (partner will go to a hotel, to try catch up on some sleep)and go back friday afternoon, late-ish. Of course I will, but it is indeed short notice. She has had a very bad migraine since last week, can''t shake it off, because she is still breat-feeding baby Anna, so can't take her 'heavies' for this migraine.I had planned to make even more jam tomrrow. Couldn't resist buying 7 kilos of them yesterday, seeing as they were only 7 euros for the lot.Have now put the rest in the fridge to see to when I get back.
Phew, tiring work.
Hope everyone manages to get a good night's sleep, and wake up feeling refreshed enough to deal with another day.

Love to all.

You could try asking your local pharmacist what to do re the boils/carbuncles.
When I went away in May I noticed a red area at the side of my nail on my big toe, it looked unpleasant and hurt, so i asked at the chemist and he told me to use some magnesium sulphate paste which draws anything like a bump with pus in it.
Worked for my toe, it was the start of an ingrowing toenail so helped stop it getting really inflamed and painful. Don't think I would put it on open wound but might work on a spot or boil, google and check first.

Hi everyone, hope you do not mind me poking fun at my boil/carbuncle, but you just gotta laugh sometimes, yes they are uncomfortable, but nearly WMSL. Well if I am honest I did.

Hope everyone is okay, the boards have been very quite today. I decided to put some poetry on Ron in Wales thread, and enjoyed doing that. Very Ozzie stuff though.

Kathy I would moan and moan having to hand wash as well. I remember once when the kids were little and the same thing happened with my machine. I put all the washing in the bath with warm water and Lux Flakes, then got the kids to stamp on it, did the same for rinsing, the kids had a great time, and did not have to bath them that night. Got any kids nearby??

I have been really good today, actually did some sleuthing for my tree. I am waiting on some certificates I ordered. Havn't told OH yet, so will have to get to the VISA statement before he does.

love and hugs

Hi all, I had 4 children and only got my first washing machine AFTER my last one was out of nappies!

What a wonder I thought it was.... and it was.

God bless the man who designed them, and the man who bought me my first... and every one after that. ;-0)

see you all tomorrow. Not much to say today.
Just hope you are all doing well and feeling happy.

love Deanna XXX

I only had a washing machine - a twin tub which I loved, when my youngest was 7. So had two children with all the terry square nappies to wash. had a baby burco and a spin drier before the washing machine though.

Message from YCaz, she is not sulking because of the remarks by our Sphinx friend. She has had another fall and is resting because she is in pain.

Please send her your thoughts.
