Hi Elaine your husband sounds like mine suffers in a silence. Makes it worse for us as we imagine things are better or worse than they really are. I tend to fuss over my family when they are ill but they want space! Your emotions must be all over the place!
Sit down and give yourself a break leave the jobs they will wait! xx

Meldrew here

The men from chem clean finally arrived opened the hatch and immediately said they would not go down due to smell and health risk .One reckoned that the pipe could have been broken for about a year .I am worried sick now that the insurance will refuse to cover me.

The man said my kitchen floor will have to be lifted to give them access and I will probably have to move out while the work is being done .I tried explaining that I might find that difficult as I don't do going away from home .

I am now waiting for a claims assessor to contact me so please all keep your fingers crossed for me that they agree to cover the costs .

Liz I hope you have a great time with guy .
Carole thanks for the pm sorry I havent replied just been up to my eyes with this kitchen drama
Elaine glad your hubby is a bit better try not to worry .
Yorkshire Caz hope you are feeling better .
Just because I can't remember all your names I am still thinking of you all and Gill hope you still look in

I'm so sorry things are not getting better yet. You can do nothing but hold in there! Frustrating for you.
I hoped he would be feeling some benefit now. Maybe I was too optimistic about how fast he would recover!!
It is still very early days though xxx

Mary Lou, my chemist will give me tablets to cover the time I will have to wait. I'm sure yours will too.
They can see by your prescription how necessary they are to you.
Try it. x

Elaine I'm with Carole here, I think he is pushing himself... not unusual for a man mine are the same.
Also, everyone is different and will heal at a different rate.
Bless you both you have been through so much... just relax through it. x

Ann, who could NOT mention you?
You are one of my 'helpfuls'.. thank you. x

having problems just now and not too keen on telling them, as it would take too long for me.
please don't worry... they are not important, just that the way I (and many of us) feel, I just can't cope the same.

Tony had his first appointment with the cardiac nurse today. i cannot make a judgement yet, but I will say that he came back looking a little more positive than usual... so here's hoping.

Did any of you realise that when the doctors all 'change' their surgeries and join up with others .... that the councillors are going to have to become PRIVATE??
They do not want to, but the doctors are not going to pay for the counsellor's out of their budgets as before!!
So.... in my district... £40 per hour!
How many of us can afford that?

Jeannie not around today? XX

Well Deanna had better go. getting too weary sitting here.
Dont really know what is wrong... just not resting!!

Carole, I used to be like you and people walked all over me.... and I would apologise for being in the way!!
I learnt to stick up for myself when someone overstepped the mark one day.
I carry her shocked look in my memory.... it felt like a *gold cup*.

To all of you that i have missed, please remember that I do not forget you.. I just remember you one or two at a time throughout the day.

love Deanna XXXX

I am so stressed. This woman at work has really upset me. I have headache and feel sick all the time. I can't sleep at night, but sleep during the day. It gives me a break from the stress. Just had a soak in the bath, helped for a while. Why am I letting this get to me! She isn't worth it. I don't even like her!

Hi Deanna, sorry love, have been asleep all afternoon, it took me hours, literally, to be able to get off to sleep, I think I really overtired myself.
Hope you are reading a good book, I escape into books when I am down, and usually can read myself off to sleep but that didn't work today either!
Have to go and eat now, o.h. is home early today :>(( - means more cooking! Might send him out for a chinese for him and I will eat the left- overs from my son's 'party' last night!
Won't be able to get back on here till he goes to bed.
Take care, hope someone else comes to say hello soon.

Poor Deanna

All alone .If I hadn't been up to my neck with australians all day I would have spoken to you.

Some of these people are amazing they travel round the world to look for their ancestors and do they bring certificates that they have got or years of birth of course not they try doing it from memory !!! One of mine today was a Margaret McKay born ??? in Scotland ???
I tell them we hold a seance first sunday of each month with crystal ball optional .

Hope that made you smile :-)

At least it took my mind off my cess pit .I cooked smoked haddock last night so the house has an even worse smell today .

Hope you are all feeling better .Off to see Corrie

Hello chaps
Thankyou to all who sent me PMs and posts i appreciate the advice and the kind words!
Panic is over, today i spoke to a different receptionist (who was very kind and understanding) and she managed to squeeze me a quick appointment, its so easy to get in a blind panic and not think it through!
because of my circumstances, I dont have a repeat perscription as a i have to go back every 30 days because of my past probelms taking an O.D (sorry i dont like to see the word) its very annoying having to trek to the GP every month but I suppose its better than them fobbing you of with a large supply of pills!
But all is calm now i have my tablets and can now enjoy and hopefully have a relaxing weekend.

Im sending you all a chunky hug!
Take care everyone and thankyou for your support!!

Good evening all. What a horrible wet day again.
It was pay day, so at last I could go shopping and have some food in the house! Will have to be more careful this month and make money it last!

It's been really slow on the boards today hasn't it.

Did some gardening until it started to rain.

What you all been doing? x

Hi Kathy, how do you keep your cool when you have silly billies come in, like those you mentioned.
Sorry I haven't phoned, been a bit hectic and today I was so tired, yet couldn't sleep. O.h. said go and lie down for a while, as I had asked him to sort out his own dinner and he was going to Chinese, I said I would get something for myself later from the leftovers from last night or whatever. I fell asleep at 8pm and around 10 was woken by loud music, he came up when he heard me in the loo bringing a cuppa, which I brought down again as I was starving.
He always says he will look after me if I am poorly but to date, when I haven't felt wonderful, he has only ever brought up cuppas, and never considered food!!
When I came down he was playing music really loudly on the computer, whichis in the kitchen/diner (no music centre, hifi, long story), but did he turn it down, no way and wasn't happy cos I said it had woken me, went up to see if it could be heard in the bedroom and came down muttering to himself. I watched tv news etc and daren't go back in to get food as he was in such a mood, he came out and said he was off to bed, as I got myself something to eat, and then sat and slept in the chair, snoring through the tv for nearly two hours, what a sight and sound, slumped there like a tramp. I think he had probably been drinking while I was asleep. I watched Love Actually which made me laugh out loud some times, but he just groaned and stirred and slept again, finally went up after complaining I was going to sit up all night! What choice do I have lol? Why would anyone in their right mind want to sleep next to a pig!
Really enjoyed the film, had the tears as well as the laughs and felt better for it, but realised how lonely I am here, and how awful his company, or lack of it, is. Wish he knew how unloveable he makes himself, in fact I wish I had a secret camera so I could film how awful he can be.
Mary-Lou, glad you got your prescription and feel you can cope now.
Hi Carole, hope you have a nice weekend, and feel happy now you have cupboards stocked up again. It's a good feeling eh?
Deanna, I have a wooden book rest, wish I could remember where I got it from, I find the same thing now, and cos of the fm, and my dodgy shoulders, I have a problem with newspapers, have to read them a bit at a time, ie. take the middle out and read the front and back pages where appropriate, put that down and then do the next 'pair' of pages etc etc.

Catch you all later, have a good weekend you'all, as someone in Dallas used to say, was it Sue Ellen lol?

Gill, good for you for taking control of your health. I hope everything works out for you. I feel a bit concerned that you have left your surgery, how will you get your bp medication if you are not registered with a doctor. Maybe you need to find a new surgery asap as it might take a while to move.
Wish you luck,
Lizxx
