Sorry Lucia, but being a 'virgin' does not make anyone whiter than white!! Just because a woman chooses to sleep with someone she loves,it makes her common?? Princess Diana had sexual relations with men, was she common,I think not!! |

Bec, to me marriage is worth more than a piece of paper...oh dear yes that sounds really corny... Paul, yep that's what I meant...hmm I'm not saying everyone's like that. It's just a belief I have and I can't help it. I've not been influenced by anyone else as far as I know. |

Hi - I've just discovered this thread. Sounds interesting - and it has certainly stirred some people up! May I suggest something? I believe that having sex (the first time) IS marriage in God's eyes. Sex with anyone else after that is adultery. Someone commented in an earlier thread that 'if we read the Bible at face value then it seems we're all sinners' (I've paraphrased what they said). I'm glad that someone has realised that! - we are indeed. Sexual sin is considered worse - for some reason - than pretty much any other sin. God detests all sin. And we are all sinners. Denying the fact doesn't make the fact false. Acknowledging it means that there's a chance of getting it sorted out. William |

Definitely believe in sex before marriage! lol I might be on my own here but I think it's a healthy thing to experiment sexually whether yr in love with someone or not - casual sex isn't for everyone but it's not soul-destroying and doesn't make anyone less than anyone else. Perhaps a lifetime of casual sex isn't good for the soul but what's wrong with protected enjoyment of the bodies we were given? As most people know (I assume) there is a difference between sex with someone you love and who yr in a long-term relationship with and sex with someone you're not - there's a place for both of them and I'm very glad I've experienced both:) |

Lucia I was the same as you at 17 - believed no sex before marriage - one friend who did not have the same beliefs as me asked if I would still be her friend if she slept with her boyfriend! (We are still friends now) Anyway stuck to my beliefs & got married at 28 - was so grateful that I had. Penny Keep it up !!! |

I see nothing wrong in sex with or without marriage only that it can be harmful, particularly for the female, to start too young. Like going to war, people under 18 should not get involved as, not being fully mature, they may suffer long-lasting emotional and physical damage. len |
