I do applaud you Lucia honestly but doesn't the bible also says something along the lines of that you shouldn't judge people unless you are faultless? I can't remember the convoluted way its put!!

Lucia - I know you meant no offense but there are people that don't know that and it would be hurtful to them. I'll state that I too wish the world was full of happy marriages with 2.2 kids and a cat but its not and has never been that way!! xx

I think in America there are many young people abstaining from sexual activity until they marry, due to lots of publicity about the problems of sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy etc but mainly I think to respect their bodies and learn to say no. I had friends at school in the 1960's who would entertain the local lads while their parents were in church on a Sunday, one of them had to get married and is now on her third partner. Her parents would never have believed what went on with her and her sister while father was helping out in church, and mother was teaching Sunday school. This was after the girls had been to the early Communion service! Everyone is different and parents these days are more lax about the freedom they give their kids to have boy or girlfriends stay over or spend hours in their rooms so encourage the sexual relationship even if the kids are underage. My son is illegitimate because his father didn't follow through with his promises, like many men he backed out of eveything we had planned (and my son was planned) and left me high and dry, to cope alone back in my own country. That is not my fault and definitely not my son's fault. I think if you are happy and proud to stay a virgin until you marry Lucia, then good for you, whatever you are most comfortable with and suits you. Personally I would never marry someone without sleeping with them first, it is another dimension of their personality that could mean the difference between a successful happy marriage, and a disaster.
