It seems such a long time since anyone new joined the Chat board ( excluding the odd newbie looking for help) and stayed to make for a bit of fun and laughter.

No disrespect to anyone here at all lol, but I feel myself that I have 'nothing new to say' that I haven't already said in the last 5 years lol ( don't say 'thank God' all at once will you :)) if I'm sick of hearing myself repeat myself how must you all feel lol.

Thanks Rose...good to be back too :-D :-D :-D

I would imagine if newbies were made to feel more welcome in the first place they may feel more comfortable when it comes to idle chit chat in here....(not aimed at anyone in particular, just a general assessment)

When new people come on here we get called Amy, why ?????
Just cos we disagree with what someone has written.

I'm not 'new' just always was on teh 'help' boards before

I am afraid that this 'chat' board looks like a very cliquey place to me and I don' t think it is at all inviting to new members ..........

Motown Gal why can' t bottles stack themselves in the fridge properly ? :-)

Aww Chrissie, it's not as cliquey as it might appear at first. Just join in wherever you have something to say.

It's lovely to see you back Teresa, along with others your balance ( and humour) has been missed in many a 'debate' lol.

Daisey, It was more an observation that there 'seem' to be fewer people even venturing here, than how they are treated when they get here.

Aww MG are you ok? I hope you are well bandaged and have had a cup of tea for the shock.

Chrissie I think it's always 'looked' cliquey...but really isn't, I watched for ages first and thought everyone must know each other in 'real life' too as they seemed so much a 'group'...but when I posted everyone seemed friendly ( Teresa was one of the first to 'speak' to me )

It can be disconcerting if someone looks into a thread and the posters seem to be talking about nonsense that others find hilarious.

Please ask why they are talking about 'whatever' you'll be told the background and then join in :-D :-D

Some of us just love other nutters ;-)

You can always talk to any of us.

I do know what you mean but it really isn't that bad :-D

normally I keep off my friends threads because they are quicker than me and most of the time I am laughing too much to make any sense.

On the debate threads.....believe me....we don't always agree with each other.....but there are ways of saying things that don't upset other posters.

Just join in......

Sometimes I look into very long threads and start to read the content......It always amazes me as to how interesting/funny they can be.

I think when jumping into these threads it is best to introduce oneself first though......tis just being polite.

:-) :-)

TeresaW Report 17 Jun 2011 20:39

I sat and watched the boards for months before daring to post...but once I'd taken the plunge I was made to feel welcome and able to join in the fun.

The thing with an internet forum like this is that in the beginning at least, nobody knows anyone who is posting. Many of us do know each other in real life now,but that's because of meets, which everyone is more than welcome to when they happen.

Thats the nice thing about t'internet...you make new friends, and some of them become more than 'internet friends', you get to know them for real too.

well the problem is though that if it looks cliquey to someone looking then that' s how it looks to them :-)

But you have to dip your toe in the water eventually. Never judge a book by it's cover and all that.

Ok I'm Teresa, I'm 22 years old, tall, slim, drop dead gorgeous and loaded.

Well, all I can say is you are welcome on any threads on here......I know this because I have tried going on them and have always been welcomed. We don't all know each other, but gradually get to know more which leads to more confidence .......

Sheesh......hark at me rabbiting on.....I bet everyone is on the next page by now
