Hiya Jean... so pleased that it wasn't as you dreaded... even though he needs an op, at least it'll prevent it getting worse. I can eat a prawn salad now, too.... like you, there aren't enough prawns in the bag... 10 for the salad 50 for me to pick on while I make it, lolol!! ((((hugs)))) for you both.
Night night Susan xxxxx
~~~~waves to BC... feeling a lot better... ever since I discovered Meltus cough mixture is 96% proof, taking it has been all pleasure, lolol Taking a long time to get tiddly though, at 10mls every 3 hours or so :¬(( If it wasn't for the antibiotics I'd take your Texan's medicinal choice, lolol What are you going to do with yourself tomorrow? I'd just reclaim your sofa and loll (as in relax) on it for the rest of the day!! Nighty night!!
Ann, that really tickled me!! R is mostly better... still a bit of a cough every so often, but that's all. He enjoyed being back at work today. My sister popped in briefly, but along with our Taff, ordered me off to bed... even tucked me in, lolol I slept for hours... woke at 7.45!!
Hiya Jude.... did you enjoy your time in the shop? My mum did it for years.... stopped a year or so ago. I haven't actually spent more than long enough to drink a cuppa in the garden today... someone *stares and smiles sweetly at Taff* ordered me to bed... R rang and did the same, and my sister was the final straw, lol.... but sleep I did!! ((((((hugs)))))
Taff, do look after yourself.... this is not a nice cold, at all.... although I have to say the sniffles and snotty nose didn't last long, it's the sore throat, voice loss and croupy cough wot does it for me, lol! Just go to bed and sleep as much as possible.... said genuinely, cos I have tried to sleep, lol... it was the cough that wouldn't let me at first!!
Well.... I am now off to bed.... I have had all my pills and potions... quite sleepy now!!
Loads of love
Fingers crossed my pal has thrown away her crutch and can join me. *makes note not to have any visitors (specially Texan) for a little while. Have a good day everyone. BCXXX
Lol Jen... everyone has had a lie in today by the looks...
I was rudely awoken first by R saying goodbye cos he was off to work... I didn't even hear him get up, lol.... then at just after 9, I was all nicely tucked up and fast asleep again.... and one of my sisters phoned to give an update on mum's visit for her cataracts yesterday... pre-assessment!
Chatted to her for an hour.... put the phone down, dragged myse;lf downstairs, put the kettle on, and mam phoned..... well, 3 1/2 hours and 3 more phone calls (things she had forgotten to tell me, lol, but she had, of course!!) and I am still in my jim jams!! Then my brother phoned... that was a quick call, so not so bad... then I answered a couple of pm's.... and I have literary runaway (can't spell the dia wotsit word, lol) so have typed up essays.... similar to now, lol!
And now here I am... 3pm in my jim jams, and not even had a shower!! *hands out pegs*
BC.... your bed will feel like bliss tonight.... I seem to be almost permanently connected to mine at the moment, lolol. Are you just going to Barcelona for pure pleasure? I am getting good at Spanish..... I watched Dora the Explorer, you know!! lol Ola!!
Actually, I have the discs to learn... bought when my older granddaughter was born as there was talk of her spending quite a lot of time with her uncle, who is English, and her aunt/godmother, who is Spanish!! I didn't want to be left out of the conversation, now, did I??? Maybe that is what I shall do over the next couple of weeks... learn some Spanish!! Si!!! Enjoy your trip, anyway..... and please leave Barcelona's young men just as you found them, lolol
Maz, he will come around, eventually, I promise... it takes a little bit of time and tlc. If he doesn't, you may find having another *baby* will take his mind off his grief.... even if he hisses and spits to start off with.... it needn't be a dog.... I am now ready to have another dog after Sadie died 7 years ago and Bonny died 6 years ago.... but R is still not ready!! I deliberately persuaded R to let me have the boys (Hermie and Jethro) when I did, as I knew the girls were all getting older, and as their time arrives, the others would still have that company .... I can see my lovely Pol getting older, and really hope that she will be one of those cats who live ell into their 20's... she will be 17 in October. Loads of ((((((hugs))))))
Love
Ola Daff, From what I can see and hear Daff to speak Spanish you have to talk very loudly and fast and throw your arms around a lot. Hmm, I guess you will learn quickly!!!!
One thing to remember is how you like your steak done, barely cooked is Poco etcha (not sure if that is spelt correctly).
*beams hugely* at Ann.... hey.... so I'm fluent already? lolol R was pretty good.... he's very quiet no matter what language he is using, but always seems to know a smattering..... really confused the locals (and some of the tourists) when we were in Crete a few years ago.... we were staying in an area of predominantly German tourists, so most of the local people there knew better German than English... so quick as a flash, he spoke in German...
then a French couple were having a problem.... yep, you've guessed it, he was translating French into German.... and then into Greek, lolol as the new waiter didn't understand anything other than Greek!! They gave us a farewell meal at that place, the day before we left!!
He always seems to pick up a few words... he was taught colloquial German anyway, and spent 10 months with French, Italian, German and Swiss troops in Bosnia... he was in charge of the troop, so picked up a bit of all. Well, I think they all did, eventually
I just go to pieces, me!! Useless.
Hope the weather is fine there... raining here, but no bad thing, it has been so windy that the soil has been drying out very quickly... the plants have needed this rain.
I'd love a Bouganvillia... I had one last year, but it was in the wrong spot.... there is a place out the front where I might get away with it unless we have a dreadful winter.... or maybe I shall grow one in the conservatory.... hmmmmmm!!
Love
Evening Daff and it sounds like you are much better. Oh I would just LOVE a Bougainvillia too...it was on my list for this year but events are galloping so maybe next year. I wonder how they do in pots? `Anyway am off tomorrow, the weather forecast is not great but not bothered. Have hot little phrase book in hand...I don't suppose I could borrow Mr D for a few days? No? Ah well it was worth trying:-) Have never been to Barcelona and it was on my Wish List on the wall so intend to do loads of culcha thingies and my pal is able to travel so we will have to do a lot of sitting in bars and eat tapas and drink Cava...*sighs....lol....
Take care of your little self, and don't go gadding about too much. mwahhh BCXXX
Oh BC.... have a wonderful time!! And bouganvillea do well in pots and tubs, it would seem!! Mwah back!
Hiya Maz.... have you tried him with a little furry toy to snuggle up to? Worked with my Sadie when *her* cat, Twt, died... she pined dreadfully for him, although it didn't work for Pol when Bonny died... but Pol was fine after about a week, I think... mind you, R was away when Bonny died, in the Gulf... he came back just as Pol perked up, so that might have had something to do with it!!
Night night all
If you are still looking in BC have a lovely time.
Daff it wascool and cloudy at 10am this morning and we felt daft in shorts but by 11 it was sunny and hot and stayed like that until 5pm.
We have picked up the odd words and our host is fluent in Spanish if we get stuck. Most of the waitresses and waiters peak a smattering of English so not too bad.
Evening all!! I've had a brilliant day!!
Went and had BP checked, and still a bit high but they'll check it again next week, poured out my concerns re receptionists and two of the three GP's not listening to me before my illness, and that as a result I felt unsafe with them handling my care.... especially as with AML action needs to be taken very quickly if symptoms recurr, and they are a bit slow!! Soooooo.... sat with practice manager for an hour and explained my misgivings... how the GP had phoned me when I had just come out of hospital last time and her first words after introducing herself was to query how much weight I'd lost, lol!! There are a whole raft of other things as well.... but suffice it to say, that hopefully these have now been resolved. I feel so much happier.!!
Then mum and sister came around... and we went out for a late lunch... then off into Wilkinsons in Cardiff for some retail therapy..... popped into Sainsbury's next door, first, and needed to use the loo before shopping.... big queue, remembered my Blue Badge so nipped in the disabled loo.... it was MINGING!! The toilet and sink were clean except the tap was broken, but the walls, the skirting boards, the holder for the toilet brush... the groove around the top of the waste bin and sanitary bin.... that crust of dirt that tells it hasn't been cleaned for months!! With dirty drips running down everywhere!!
So I went to customer services and complained.... one of the managers was called, she thought it was *acceptable* as it was checked every hour... I pointed out that if that was someone's acceptable, I would hate to see what their grubby looked like.... so I told her that I would be back within the next week, if it wasn't cleaned, I would report it to the Health and Safety Executive. If it wasn't *acceptable* to me, then it shouldn't be acceptable to anyone... Yukkety yuk!! The main loos were immaculate, by the way, so I did wave the discrimination word about a bit., lol!! Tomorrow I am going to ring the Head Office, if I can find a number.
It put me off shopping there to be honest... which is how come we ended up next door in Wilkinsons, lolol
Ann, the weather sounds lovely there.... that fine misty rain that is good for the garden again today.... although it came down heavily once or twice. I hope it is like that in Glos... must ask R.... that'll be doing your garden the world of good!!
Hiya Jude... wmsl at you bringing the prices down, lololo!! I love poppies, but don't have any yet.... I will be having them, though, when the front is sorted....... they are for you cos they are your favourites!! They are among R's favourites, too.
Maz, mine loved the hammocks, but we have put them away now cos we have put covers on the radiators because of the granddaughters.... so they all fight for the arm of the one sofa, which rests against another radiator, lolol Glad to hear he seems to be perking up a bit now. Also thrilled that your mum is going home... what wonderful neighbours she has!! xxxx
Taff.... your penance for swearwording online is to zoom over here and do my swearwording, lolol Glad yours has almost been drowned out, lol... all that is left of my cold is the dulcet tones and a bit of a cough every now and then.... nasty when it happens, but nowhere near as bad as it was!! R is back at work...... a teensy bit of a cough, but recovered well!!
~~~~~~~ waves to Mau.... she is lovely, isn't she, our BC.... I am afraid I was..... and still am.... quite starstruck!! I just stared, I was mesmerised, she is just so stunning.... she must have thought me incredibly rude.... I was looking for a tiny doddery little old lady thanks to that TW and Hayley, lol Hubby and I are recovering well... I am full of energy and beans... just spoke to my dad, and I was fizzing so much he asked if I'd been drinking fally over juice, lololol Cheeky devil!
Thank you Taff, for all those transcripts of the thread..... I have giggled like crazy.... I have been reading some bits out loud to my mother and sister, and we have been hysterical over some of it!! My sister is now talking of joining..... she might just cramp my style,, lolol...... but I have already done a lot of our side of the family tree..... so I just won't answer her if we get hot matched, lolol
Oh well.... let's go tread the boards and see what is happening!
Love and loads of ((((hugs))))

Good morning Daff, yes hope it is raining a bit in Glos for the sake of the garden and to save our neighbour having to water. Well done on reporting the toilet, hope it makes somebody pull their socks up, I guess the disabled toilet gets forgotten although of course it shouldn't.
Off down for a coffee now, sunny a bit of cloud and breezy.

Morning all...
Ann, we have more of the same fine rain this morning.... although the sun is trying to break through..... I do hope it isn't too successful... I have decided that today I will wash the kitchen floor if it rains, and maybe do a bit of ironing while watching telly... but...... if it is sunny I will go out in the garden and dig up some more of the shrubs in the front and put them out the back for safe keeping until Hunky Gardener has finished!! But the kitchen floor needs attention far more than the garden, just now!! ;¬)) *sigh* big decisions!!!! Have a lovely relaxing day in the sunshine... I might have a glass of wine tonight with my dinner... R is having lunch out so I won't need to worry about him as long as we have cornflakes, lol
Hiya Mamiddau... poor Taff.... she got it from her son, who got it from someone in Spain.... then got another one right on top.... seems like they'll stick to her unless she can share them out with he friends, lolol!!
I have had a thought (dangerous, that is!!) What if it is sunny showers sort of weather??? What shall I do then? I know, I could move my pc down into the conservatory during the rainy bits.... and I could cut down my rubber plant and umbrella plant during the dry bits... well, it is gardening and *swearword* of a sort, isn't it?? lol
See you all later.
Love
Daff xxxx
