Oh Joy, this box is huge, I thought it was going to be a very small box or package with just letters but its getting better minute by minute. To have your Mum's wedding dress and veil - *sob* is wonderful. The only thing I have of my mothers is her eternity ring, and a gold plated locket. She was buried with her wedding ring on -so I have been told. (I lost my Mum when I was 5). Mum did not get married in white either, it was a registry office and everyone had their best coats on by the looks of it -its in black and white.

Liz I so feel for you too to have your brothers chuck things away like that tsk!.

I do so hope you are now enjoying looking at the contents of the wonderful gift that has been left you.

Oh Joy, I am so envious of you and Stray.
And Don't judge them whatever you may find... they were loving normal human beings, full of emotion. Just like us.
Enjoy yourself love.

because of something he caught abroard
and instead of escaping
the Germans brought him back to his base
they carried him bless them

but the guarding the secret servis guy
really shocked me
how my dad could not wait for this person
to return to India
who ever he was he was a vip

a right scrapper he was
every letter he is bashing somebody
though he was a boxer
so thay could account for some of them

and evey letter he talks of his gun with pride
shooting pheasants ducks and partridge
he continued this all his life along with his fishing
i bet our family never went short of food ever

just read a funny bit
my dad has got a new gun dog a black labrador
and he talks about shooting a crow to curry (yuk)
he tells how the new dog swims
out to retrieve the said crow
and he decides to call the dog Monty after the
secret service guy he had to guard
who has now gone back to India
and was a pain in the ****
and the CO is after it so if she wants
he will bring it home
and it can live with the spaniel
he uses as his gun dog when he is at home
