Dionne

Thanks for the update.

Please do not close the thread - you never know who will read it from beginning to end and perhaps have a different idea on how to look for the Livermore connection.

Dionne,

Have you noticed the new military WW1 update on Ancestry?

I have been waiting to get some records on Wayne's G Grandfather and last night did a bit of mooching about and blow me there they were....

Have you tried doing another search?

Best Wishes

Hi
I've just sat and read this thread right through & I've had a thought about the Edwin Guido post.

Is it not possible that this indeed the right man. The French for William is Guillaim so the idea popped into my head that maybe this is him & maybe Guido is William in another language?

Just a thought.

MaryfromItaly

MaryfromItaly Report 3 Mar 2008 13:13

No, sorry. Guido is the Italian equivalent of Guy. William in Italian is Guglielmo.

Good evening everyone.

Thankyou for your messages. I am sorry to say that I dont have any more news for you.
Thankyou for your message Chrisa
Tracey I an no longer a member of ansestry. I have not renewed my membership yet as the family tree is all but completed. I dont really know if it would be worth redoing the membership just to check on one person. What do you think?
Many thanks

Dionne Report 3 Mar 2008 20:59

Hi Tracey.

I am not at home at the moment and all of my notes are on my laptop. He was living in Maldon Essex with his father William Livermore and mother Mary Ann Harvey. He was born in 1884 and joined the Royal Army Medical Corps just before his 18th birthday and went straight to South Africa

Hi Tracey.

Thankyou for looking. I have been given an idea from someone who emailed me.He has said to write to some of the genealogy magazines that you can buy in the shops. he has read some stories where people have given up hope of ever finding out the truth. He seems to think that because of my story, the background and the South African link that there could be great interest and someone just might be able to help.
I am going to spend time over the weekend writing out a detailed letter,I want to put as much information in as I possibly can beofre I send it off. You never know this just might work and there could indeed be someone out there that could possibly find out more information for me.
I will keep you all posted.

Hi Dionne and all.. just 'popped in' to see if there is any 'news'... Dionne, what a really great idea, those magazines reach a wide audience and could solve your mysteries.. Wishing you all the luck in the world and keeping everything crossed that one of them will be interested enough to publish yours and your Dad's story.
Kind regards, Jennifer
