How did you get back to Ellen please? Have you looked on Scotlandspeople for her birth registration please? (Remember to select forename variants as she may have been registered as Helen) From memory, 1861 birth registrations give the date and place of the parents marriage.

I am not seeing an obvious census match at the moment. Have you found Ellen on any census records? Do you know when, where and to whom she married?

Can't find Ellen on the IGI ?

So , if I understand your post, the woman's name was not Tully when she married Hamilton - IF she married him.

Why didn't you mention Fraser in your first post?

You haven't said where you got the info - by that I mean what documentary evidence you have.

You called the daughter Ellen in your original post - please clarify what her name was, and how you found out about her.
