Thanks, you are a star. Yes, it is Asa. We have been in touch with his great niece today, She said his wife was Elizabeth, known as Betty. She was from Banff, Scotland, but thought they married in Canada. They had two children, Harry, probably baptised Henry, and Elizabeth.
At one time they were living at Telkwa, near Smithers.

I am trying to find any records of my great grandmother in the USA.

Her name was Alexandra Mitchell(nee McComisky) born 1878 in Glasgow Scotland. Her husband's name was John Mitchell born 1867 in Lanark, Glasgow Scotland.I have them in Scotland in the 1901 census.I was told that they moved to the USA with their son Eric born in 1901 sometime after this date but I can't seem to find them.

Hi Lorraine. It is William Thomas Walker that I am trying to trace. He was born in Stottesden, shropshire in 1846. Fathers name William, mother Elizabeth. Married (second Marriage) to Ann or Annie Duce. He dissappears after his 4th child is born in 1887,though I cannot find him in the 1881 census. His wife is partnered with a Thomas Pugh in1891 and has 2 children with him. It is believed that he ran away to Canada with a maid from the large house where he worked as a coachman. any trace of him leaving or his presence in Canada would be most appreciated.

i cant find a marriage for asa and elizabeth nor a birth for the children im afraid records for BC are not that good, deaths only go up to 1979 and cant find elizabeth so she must have died after that

there are two two trees on ancestry, both say eric died in scotland in 1950 but one says although he died in scotland he married a selina gilmour in new york in 1930 i will see what i can find on this but so far cant find them on a census or passenger list

hi, i have hit a brick wall, and wondered if you could help. I am looking for a lady by the name of PANSY MELETA BRYAN. she married a guy from usaf alconbury by the name of emanuel freeman in 1974.the marriage is registered at huntingdon, huntingdonshire u.k. he was born in 1951, and died in 2002. i know they divorced in san bernardino in dec 75.

It's ages since I posted on the Boards, so hope I am going about this the right way!

I am still hunting for my grandfather George Wharram, have checked out every George Wharram that has come up but am now thinking as he enlisted in to the 199th Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force of the Irsh Canadian Rangers in August 1916 aged 21 yrs and had previously been in the 55th Irish Canadian Rangers Quebec Montreal ... I now have the feeling that as I can't find a birth regisiterd for him here that maybe he was born in Canada ( though he says not on his documents).. is there any way that a birth for a George Wharram 21st May 1895 this is the date on his Attestation Papers can be searched for, as I know a lot of Wharrams went over to Quebec ... I have everything on him as from 1916 onwards re marriage children etc., just can't find his birth or his death recorded. Am at a brick wall and can only think to look in Canada Records

Also he had 2 children with another woman called Olive Attfield. Do you have any records of a marriage to her?
This would have been in Ocala too, I think.
