hello michelle i dont know if you got my reply i am learner. margaret edgar 1901 census is down as mary i think the writings not too clear but it is definately her married to robert william edgar. she was formally margaret cook.i am still at a brick wall trying to establish her birth and background,i have marriage and death certificates and 1901 census with 3 different ages for herm i was hoping to find 2011 census a help but durham and middlesbrough(her given birthplace on census)is not on yetm please please can you offer any help. elizabeth

I have been looking at yours and have found it a little confusing.We have a lady called Margaret and then Mary??Yet isn't her middle name Ann?So did you see them on the 1911?What was her birthplace listed as?I am quite used to changes of names in census records but i thought a middle name was Ann?So unsure where Mary comes from?

If i cannot find her i suggest you get 1 of the children's birth certs firstly to ensure it is her cos it does seem strange that she is going by Mary on the 1901.You need to establish this is your Margaret.I will look again for you later today.

Michelle re William Lilley request 9/2 13.15. His father Samuel is not listed as dec'd. Witness' are Eliza Woulds & John Doughty (I think, writting not too clear). I have hit a brick wall trying to find William so any info would be fantastic. The only other thing that comes to mind is the 1881 census. He has a nephew John Lillyey (presume a miscribe) who is 27 years old (only 7 years younger than William) living with them his is listed as a widow born Boston General Labourer. Presuming he is the son of one of William's siblings then William must be one of the youngest children from the family and his parents must have been in late 30's early 40's when William was born. Hope this helps

Hi and thanks for info.I have been looking at John Lilley 1854 from the 1881 census.This i believe is him on the 1861 with his Grandfather...Samuel Lilley,whether this is the father Samuel??This Samuel is a Ag lab.I have found a few census records of this John and found he remarried in 1882 in the same district he was living with William in.

Ok i will start with this christening record i found.It is from 1848 and is listed as Carrington,Lincolnshire-The parish was in the Sibsey sub-district of the Boston Registration District.

Bingo ! it is the right Annie with Dad and half bro Peter.

I believe from searching SP her dad James died in 1890.

I cannot locate her 1891 and I think I mentioned before she married John Fields in 1894 in Dundee, both her parents were deceased.
