Confused???I have found the 1861 for John and he is with his widowed Mother and he is of course a widow also....but.....there is a daughter born 1853???I am wondering if this daughter is Mary Chamley's??sister of Alice?Who was living with them on the 1851.The death for Alice looked spot on and couldn't see another?I will re check that death.

Sorry to bother you again but I was wondering if you could please help me with this? I have found William Edward Dowsey (1872) Whitehaven, on the 1901 Census (married), on the 1891 Census he was in the army, but on the 1881 Census I can't find him. (I was trying to see if he had any siblings). The only one that comes up is a William Edward Dowsey (1874). I have William Edward's birth cert. (1872), his dad is down as Thomas Dowsey, his mam as Mary Elizabeth, I can't make out her maiden name though. I have tried to find a marriage cert for them but I've drawn a blank. Could you please help with any of this?

The 1871 shows proof that John's daughter Mary is his cos she is with the sister of John who is now in the name Wilson.It is Betty from the 1841 now Betsie Wilson.

hi michelle late in today you are right mary was married before she had the children her maiden name was beech we think before she became morton her married name was cursley if spelt right her maiden name was definately beech though and all those names were correct my nan can remember a step sister being older than her called constance and she looked after them when mary was admitted to rainhill mary died in the hospital im not too sure though as her name would of been constance cursley and i can not trace her thankyou for your time and hopefully we will find constance between us angela

Hi Michelle, Thank you so much for all the information on the Hobbins-you've tracked back my great grandfather (William) and great great grandfather Josiah. I think the long list of names is something to do with barracks-it says Portsmouth Division of Royal Marines. William went on to be in the Royal Marines as did his son Stanley (my grandfather).
You must have been so busy today as I noticed all todays information you've put on. You must be exhausted!! I have had a good day sorting all my notes as we have been snowed in!!
