Lovely photos on that blog Shaun.

Pringles containers are a good idea, 7! you must eat a lot of pringles. Think we have enough feeders now though all hanging round our apple tree.

Thrush was back this morning, don't know if it has been around all day though as we went out to town, had an appointment with the chiropodist. When we came home I put more bread out as they'd finished the food I left this morning, and there were still 6 blackbirds in the garden. they soon finished that lot too.

Sandie, starlings make a mess in our garden, they sit up on the TV aerial and drop their 'messages' onto whatever is on the patio.

I had 14 Wood Pigeons today !.It was like a massive dinner party.I had sprinkled Bird Seed all along the length of our very long Yew hedge. The poor smaller birds didn't get a look in :-S.I won't be doing that tomorrow.I'll stick to the usual places and then hopefully they will all be happy
:-D

I just image the amount of poop they have left behind Ann :-S :-S.....Plus all the dog has left in the snow. When the snow eventually melts I will have to have a massive bin bag to do a collection :-( :-(..I'm not really looking forward to that lol

Tried again today and at the same time of day the list was almost exactly the same except we had two crows more, one less magpie, no blackcap at that time, only one bluetit instead of two and two great tits instead of none. But quite consistent which is interesting. Now, had it been last weekend!!!

wish we had nuthatches Jude, daughter has them. Yes we had long tailed tita last weekend, very frustrating. Just hope somebody in the area has charted them or they won't know they are around here. Actually the bird watch puzzles me a bit. If Mrs A writes down 3 blackbirds at 0915 and then Mrs B next door writes down 3 blackbirds five minutes later how do they know they are not the same birds Lol!!!!

They say it is important to record what isn't seen as well as what is Shaun.

Never mind Jane, next time!

Morning:)

The chaffinches are out in force this morning with a few bluetits, nothing much else at moment:)

Shaun...you are so lucky, all those amazing birds:))

Ann....what do you mean by ..."They say it is important to record what isn't seen as well as what is Shaun."...??
Do you mean the Owls because they were heard but not seen??

jude :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Jan 2013 10:49

Jude, sorry a bit of a clumsy sentence. But, when you fill in the form, all the birds you didn't see have a 0 against them, therefore they are recorded as you not having seen them. That is as important to the RSPB as seeing them. :-)
