When we looked this morning there were more and some had white cobwebby bits hanging from them like thick white cotton. You can see by my thumbnail they are quite big!!

Evening All
I have been away on my hols .Plenty of Blackbirds here and our Robins.Plus a couple of very sweet little sparrows.It seems all very quiet.
Will go and have a look on the blog Jude(not that I will know what the eggs are :-S)

They wouldn't be grass snake eggs or something similar would they? I certainly haven't seen any like that :-S

Grass snake Eggs

Eggs are laid in June and July. The female may lay up to 40 leathery matt-white eggs, often choosing compost and manure heaps as the warmth acts as a natural incubator. The eggs measure from 23-30mm. The hatchlings emerge in autumn.

but what is it Jude? I thought snake eggs then saw Janes post. Do slow worms lay eggs?

edit, I can answer my own question - slow worm give birth to live young.

Hello Jane....no, can only see one now. Neighbour has just got in from work, will at least let him have his tea:))

Have you looked on my blog.....they are definately Grass snakes (well l think so anyways)...thank you for that:)

edit....l have as photo of a Large Red Dragonfly for blog, it was on our little wall this morning:))) its a little nature reserve here now:))
