Kerry that is AMAZING..... well done you.
I know how hard that is.... I did it years ago, and would never start again.
Son home from hospital. Consultant gave him a few options, which he would like to think about, and get back to him! He sounded very positive for the first time in about 18 months. It was very nice to ear. Now I'm off to speak to Maxi Mary... and ask for her medical advice!!
Don't hide Mary, I'll find you!! ;-0)

Thank you all for thinking of me. My Dad looked a mess yesterday. His arm which is paralised was black and blue! Black with dry blood where he had been bleeding from the bruised skin. As he is on warfrin his skin is so thin. I don't know how the bruising realy happened but it seems to get worse every time we go to see him. He went in with pain in his back or leg somewhere and now has bowell and bladder problems!
I didn't get home untill gone six last night, oh was mad as it was late for evening meal again. ( He goes to bed early as he has to be up at 5am.) Can't please everyone all the time comes to mind!
Hope we all soon start to have a better time of it!
Kerry well done you! You must be saving a fortune. Will you treat yourself to something really nice? I've also gone into work on a day off, but doors were locked so had to get the bus home! Silly you.
Elaine when you next feel the panic like you did when you were ironing, you need to think it's just panic, no harm will come to me. Even if you can't continue to iron. Deep breaths and count to three ,hold it, then let it out, count to three. No harm will come to you promise xxx

Carole you are like a mother on this board.... you know and remember the names of all your chicks.... that makes me feel important... so it must do the same for others. SO..... how are you Carole?
HEY..... I JUST READ THAT....
you're gonna set me on the team?? You will terrify them and they wont come at all!! ;-0)
I am fine at the moment. We have had time to sit and think everything through and relax a bit. I even slept for ...... SEVEN HOURS... all at once last night!! that had not happened for years. I woke up and thought that the clock was wrong!
So something must be helping me!
So everyone who is absent... get your *whatsits* in gear and come and have a chat... it does help.
stay well and whatever you are all doing today, enjoy it.

What about me Deanna???? Morning gang, sorry I've not been on for a couple of days but been thinking of you all. My appointment yesterday went well and it turns out I do have FM, whoopee doo, as I said on the other thread yesterday another illness to add to my collection. He tested all the tender spots, some I knew of and some I didn't while yesterday, oooh they don't half hurt when pressed. He said they usually give Tramadol for the pain but as I am already taking it and I still have a lot of pain I have to take extra painkillers when bad. He sent me for a blood test as he thinks the bony nodules on my fingers could be rhumatoid arthritis, blimey, on top of osteo. That could explain why I can hardly type some days for the pain in hands. Also he said my bad memory and poor concentration will be down to it, so, I have a good excuse for not remembering any names lol.
We got a letter on Wednesday saying we have been accepted for sheltered housing, so we know we are moving but not when yet, and in the home we want as well.
Sorry to hear about your dad Carole, you must dread going to see him, wondering what next. I hope he begins to get better soon. Love and hugs to everyone else.

CAZ....... I'm so sorry....
O.M.G..... I can't do anything right.
Caz, I have those bony things too.. is that what they are then? Rheumatoid arthritis? I have had them for a few years now, the first one I had I showed the doctor and he said.. " oh yes... arthritis"... I have to say that I had bigger things on my mind at the time, so maybe that was why he was so off hand.... he was a great doctor. My hands , especially my left one can be so agonising.... and I've mislaid my wristgrip! I find it very difficuly without it. Pain killers are fine, but a bit of support is better sometimes.
Such good news about your flat Caz.... hope you get moved in quickly.

Hi Deanna, go on I forgive you lol. I'm not sure about the bony nodules, I have had mine for a few years and doctor always said arthritis, I have it in most joints so I took it as said. My hands though are more painful, sometimes I dread having to put them in water because it means drying them and the action is so painful. I don't know what made him say that because he was writing a note for me to take to physio for an appointment at the same time. He did spend a long time inspecting my hands and fingers though. Sorry I can't be more help.

Good afternoon....well it would be if it wasn't chucking down the biggest hailstones I have every seen, and thundering to boot...am taking my life in my hands by staying online, but for all my friends out there, I would walk a million miles for one of yours smiles. xxx
But it does seem as if I cannot leave you lot alone for five minutes before you all start getting up to mischief, for instance Caz mentions 'noodles' on the tips of her fingers..Deanna joins in saying she has the same...what the hell am I missing out on, nobody mentioned any 'noodles' party taking place and neither was I invited. lol. Then there is Carole T inferring that Deanna takes on some of the responsiblity of rounding up the 'strays', well I might have strayed when I was younger but I'm a good little girl now...lol to you both.....xxxx Gail...if you lived nearer I would offer to scrub your back lass, xxx and Elaine, enjoy your walk in the rain, t'is only wet sunshine xxxxx Mary....I desperately need any advice on giving up smoking, apart from taping my mouth shut..xxxxx Who have I missed out on, but whoever hi!xxxx I am getting to be a regular wanderer these days, yes I was out again today, second time in a week. wow am looking to break records here.. Needless to say it was to the doc's.. although she knew I was truly in need of something to keep me calm she preferred not to feed me anymore pills and suggested group therapy, I laughed out loud then told her of our thread which she thought was brilliant....and it certainly is.. Then onto the subject of giving up smoking, another group therapy exercise which I will have to attend to enable me to get patches/chewing gum or whatever else one needs? Then it was on to inhalers, as recommended by the Anaesthetist, got a prescription for those. Then followed a examination and listening to my heart (yes girls I do have one) and the pains I am having are just muscular from tension, finally and for good measure she threw in a blood test/s....how's that for a morning's work and I haven't even picked up a duster yet....actually I have been in a while and had my lunch, thought I deserved it. As for our probable new recruit to this thread..I welcome you Kathleen, as we all do..cannot guarantee you will end up any saner but you will certainly get oddles of help, an offer you cannot refuse lass xx
Enjoy the rest of your day and will catch up with you all later.

Caz.... give Joyce some of your 'noodles' it seems she ain't suffering enough! ;-0) I have had these for years too, first noticed them 6 years ago. Also my left foot is just curling up. my toes are so bad that I can't wear an shoes. I have gone the winter in my Cosy Feet Bootee slippers!
Joyce, you sound quite happy just now, hope you are love. and you can have one of my 'noodles' anytime you ask for it. When the doctor gets a hold of you Joyce, she really makes you work for your money. a bit like mine.... my little Rottweiler... she thinks there is something wrong... she never lets go until she finds it. Bless her, and she is not the size of twopence...
I am on the way to bed.... very late as you will notice. But I wanted to tell you all that the doctor phoned me at about 6.50 bless her. my blood is looking good. it has gone up very fast. She wants me to have another blood test in a month, and then when we get my blood to the correct level.... I have to take the iron tablets for another couple of months. the change has been pretty remarkable... you should all get the iron tablets ladies..... ;-0)
So now I'm off to bed.... Good night ladies, and I will see you in the morning. Deanna XX

I'll add more later - but has anyone heard from Liz today??? LIZ yoo-hoo, you out there? Are you OK???? Carole, Colleen's van was fixed as of 530 tonight, it was a water pump and she needed 4 new spring tyres so $900 later . . . . today was not a good day at home, Gareth is now discharged from his therapy and we will have to do everything we can to prevent his sliding backwards, at least he is trying very hard to talk, Sarah only asks when she is desperate, otherwise chooses to hold ones arm and point. Please send Colleen some positive thoughts as she is really distressed over Gareth, why discharge a child who is making progress. I'm at work so must get off the PC and delete the history!!! Tomorrow is my "dump run" having piled loads of "stuff" on the drive, which the town wouldn't take in the garbage, I now have to trail it all to the dump, my van will be full, maybe 2 loads. So tomorrow night I should be exhausted. Have a good weekend all,and if anyone hears from liz please give her a virtual hug from me. hugs Mary

JOP Joyce, I quit smoking "cold turkey" in 1992, I was married to a chain smoker and woke up one morning with severe chest pain, and pneumonia. My uncle had died of lung cancer and I got such a fright I quit. Just quit. It may have helped that I was receiving second-hand smoke, but day 10 was the absolute worst, I nearly gave in. i found if I kept my hands busy (took up knitting again), I was usually Ok. Chewing gum helped when i was really stressed. I think I was NOT on an anti-depressant at the time, there were a few years I thought I was fine . . . May not be the answer for everyone but it really worked for me. I think the bottom line is that if you really WANT to quit, you can. Some of my friends have had success with the patch, others with hypnosis. I was motivated enough to override it. Hope this is some help, Mary
