Hello everyone My wife sells Avon and her latest order caused a bit of giggle and panic. Instead of order 1 set of 10 books she accidentally entered 10 sets of 10 books - the order duly arrived and OOPS - what to do with a 100 books. Fortunately she has managed to on sell them to other agents, thank goodness. We are in election mode down here in NZ, I sometimes listen to talkback and I am getting tired of political chat by listeners so off it goes and I switch on the music on my PC instead. Joy - as the others say ignore those comments. Its definitely spring weather down here, quite warm at nights. John |

Hi All We are starting to have lovely warm weather here, which is good, as I can open the widows and doors and let the fresh air in, I have also started sitting on my swinging lounge on my front veranda having a quiet coffee and looking out at the surrounding suburb and watching everyone going past. Joy welcome aboard :-)), anyone who wants to avoid the unpleasant boards and come here for a nice pleasant chat with no back bitting etc is more than welcome. Fred and June, we are also having problems with our petrol. It has sky rocketed over the last couple of months, we are now paying around $1.35 a litre, a rise of about 20 cents in the last couple of months. It makes you wonder because if anything happens in the middle east and their oil prices go up, so does our petrol, and now with the hurricane in US…. You guessed it up goes our petrol again. People over here are asking the government if they can help by cutting the GST on fuel or the excise on fuel, but of course they can not do that as it takes away the money that is lining their pockets ……. Don’t worry about the poor pensioner or battling young families, or anyone that may be trying to get a family business off the ground. Hello to everyone I haven’t mentioned, I hope you are all enjoying yourselves. |

Hi everyone, Its raining today so I cant do much outside. Yesterday the man came to look how much furniture we have, ready for the move. I think we have just about packed everything we can for now. The removal man packs the PCs, TVs etc for insurance reasons. So we are just waiting for the date. I was very annoyed yesterday, I received a bill for an outstanding parking ticket. Supposedly I had parked illegally and damaged the land, This is on a Retail Car Park! I rand them up and they said they had a photograph of my car with the Fixed Penalty Notice on it, anyway I demanded to see the photograph as I hadn't seen anything on my car when I got back to it. I was also displaying my Disabled Badge. The putcome was that the invoice was cancelled. I told my son in law about it and he said that he had sat in the carpark waiting for my daughter and watched this man in another car, sending this young lad over to every car that parked on the disabled spot, the lad then gave him a signal if they weren't displaying a badge and they clamped the car. I dont think People should park on disabled spots but I think clamping etc is going too far. Fred, I think you may be right, we are being taken for a ride again with these petrol prices. Sylvia, Thanks for the Good Luck wishes. The weather all over the world seems to be doing things out of the normal. Brenda, Looking out at the weather, I think you chose the right weekend to go to Cleveleys. Remember me to Sandra your friend, it was nice to meet her at Leeds. Judy, Camping by the river sounds perfect, especially with a glass (or two) of Chardonnay. I might just pop in to see you one evening, lol John, My daughter has tried selling Avon but has only taken one order and was very despondent, then someone told her that another lady was already covering that area and she got further proof when another house gave her the other lady's book by mistake. We went to an Avon Roadshow last Friday and they had some lovely costume jewelry. Sue,You are so right about petrol prices, its the poor man in the street that suffers, they haven't anyone to pass on the extra cost to. I am in trouble now, I am late getting my granddaughter up for work, so must go. An extra hug for Kathleen and Susan. Have a good weekend everyone June xx |

Hi all, Well it has been a hot, humid day again. I jumped out of bed with a start this morning as I had set the alarm clock. I do hate alarm clocks, but these days never know what time I will wake up. I went to the market on my own and bought lots of fruit. All this summer fruit is so tempting. Linda came at lunchtime and made tostis for herself and Johan. I suddenly felt sick when I was out this morning, so kept off food until this evening, now feel ok again. I had Linda turn the mattresses and lift the heavy bed (with motor) and clean underneath. Only do this once a year as its a major job. I can never do it alone. I took some more duvets to the dry cleaners. My hairdresser came, so at least my hair looks nice. Fell asleep on the bed after dinner. I heard the telephone ringing but was half awake and didn't answer. Thank God for an answering machine. It was Annemie. She had half a bucket of blackberries for me and tomorrow rhubarb. So I will make some blackberry jelly and probably freeze the rhubarb in. Linda brought me her jeans to wash saying that they should be soaked 24 hours in cold water with vinegar first so that they don't lose their colour. I was just up to date with my washing too! Saturday will be a busy day again as it is breadmaking day too. As Johan says it keeps me off the streets! See you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Oh where is everybody today? It has been another hot, humid day here. We had a lot of rain overnight, with thunder and lightning, but today plenty of sunshine again. It is 24 degrees in our sitting room! I have been baking bread again - two loaves and have made 8 lbs of blackberry jelly. I cooked the blackberries last night and let them drip all night. Today I only had to boil up the juice with sugar. Hey presto, delicious blackberry jelly! I did my last coloured washing and ironing and washed Linda's jeans, after soaking them all night in vinegar! Can you forgive me sitting down at the computer for half an hour? Tonight is the lotto show, and who knows maybe I'll win some money and then you won't see me behind the computer for a while. Promise! Looking at the time I realise I ought to be doing something towards the dinner. It's all go, isn't it? Have a nice evening and see you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Hi all, OK, where are you all, hiding from me again methinks. I have just had a telephone call from my daughter who asked if we would like to have their house for a week or 10 days as they are going away. Well they have a big house and super deluxe, everything just rebuilt and all new furniture etc. They are quite near Germany and Belgium and we can also visit friends. Yes, I thought it was a nice idea. The idea came from her partner of all people. I said it's not every man who invites their inlaws to stay in their house when they are away. I am so lucky! We will probably go to them on the 25th September and depending on how Johan is stay a week or 10 days. I am still not dressed as I type this, but am now going to have a shower. The weather is really overcast, humid, sultry. Sylvia xxx |

Hello everyone June - my wife doesn't have an Avon area but still manages to have clients some at our son's work, I use to sell it when I was working and then there are friends at church who buys it. Some people have agents in their street and prefer to get it their Avon from my wife. John |

Hi all, Well I felt that I deserved a rest, and what better than some time on the computer! I have just defrosted our freezer, annual job. I wish a had one of those modern freezers which you don't have to defrost. Dreams! The weather looks quite nice at the moment. Johan is pottering about downstairs, so that is him out of the way for a while. It's nice to have the flat to myself. Johan has been retired now for 24 years, so you will realise how I enjoy some time to myself. I know we are exceptionally fortunate, as many men don't enjoy such a long retirement. Ok, he has had some nasty operations, but he is still here. My dear granddaughter and I have a battle on at the moment. You see, both she and her boyfriend wanted to spend a long weekend in her mother's house whilst she is on holiday and now Janet's partner has offered us the house. Janet has a bubble bath and all the mod cons. Not that I use the bubble bath. If I got in I wouldn't get out again! I have enough problem with their shower. It has so many knobs I never know which to turn and usually turn the wrong one and get a rush of water in my face. Give me my old fashioned shower with one knob! Well going to have a coffee now, so have a nice day everybody. Sylvia xxx |

Hi all, Yes, it's me. Who else do you think has so much time but me. I know June is very busy packing and I know Brenda works, but where is Fred and the others. Don't leave me alone every day. It's real lonely - honest! What have I done today. Well I had to make rhubarb and ginger jam as Annemie gave me some rhubarb yesterday. I also had cucumbers given to me, but they will keep. I thought I had better flick the duster over the sitting room - otherwise the neighbours might think I'm dirty! It was such lovely weather that I thought I'd better get out onto my scooter. I scooted round the harbour and was surprised how many boats there are still around. Now have a nice evening everybody, as I must be getting the dinner. Another housewive's duty! Sylvia xxx |

Hi All Sylvia sorry for leaving you to hold up the board, I havent really been doing much the last couple of days. It is school holidays here at the moment so I have my three at home for this week, then next week Davids 3 children arrive from Victoria for a weeks holiday, as they start their holidays this Friday. So when I can get to the computer I am either busy doing things with my tree or reading messages that others have left, but I never have the time to add a message. I was smart this time I sent the girls down the street to the shops with a couple of dollars each and the boy is visiting friends. Our weather cant decide still if it wants to be spring or winter still, we get a few days of lovely sunshine and a couple of days of good rain, which is usual for spring. Then yesterday we woke up to a dumping of snow on our mountain, ski season finished a couple of weeks ago, and when it was ski season there was hardly any snow about. Yesterday and today we have a clear but cool day. Fred I assume you are off camping or fishing again, June you must nearly be ready to move? Hello to everyone else, hope you are all well. |

Hi all, Well we were supposed to be having bad weather today so when I woke up and saw some blue sky I thought - out. We had just had a lot of folders in our post and I saw lots of bargain bits and pieces for making cards. So sooner said than done, Speedy Gonzalez on scootmobile. I searched the shop only to hear that they were sold out on Monday. Yes, I said, but I only knew about it today when I received the folder. How do all the other hundreds of shoppers know before me. Well apparently you can pick up a folder on the Saturday beforehand. So that's me missed the proverbial boat again! Made me move a bit quicker than usual this morning, so this afternoon I'll get down to some sewing, well, when I've finished typing this. I cannot let Brenda down, can I? Still no sign of our Fred. Shame on you Fred, come back and stop shirking your duties man. June is so busy packing that she has an excuse. Well will love you and leave you again. Have a nice day. See you tomorrow. Promise. Hi peeps.I had the morning off seeing as the grandson was going back today. We made him a Sunday dinner seeing as he never gets one on camp, they don't do a special roast on camp any more it seems, and as he won't be back up for a few months i made sure he got one before leaving. At the same time i stayed off the puter to give him a chance to say goodby to all his mates ,and all,he is'nt connected to the internet yet so he misses the chat when he is down south [can't you tell lol.] All over now ,and back to normal ,and i can now also get back to getting the garden and greenhouse ready for the winter. I had a good look at the greenhouse this afternoon ,and can see no reason why i cannot lay a proper cable without tearing p the patio ,or lawn ,so i will be starting to get the job done in october. I hope this petrol trouble will resolve itself very shortly ,i am due to go down to Norfolk for a weeks fishing in two weeks ,and really fancy my chances with the locals on a pike fishing trip on the river, there are a few other species too ,but pike is the one i am after this time ,but a nice trout would not go amiss. I have been painting the windowsills at the front of the house these past few days, andhave done the porch roof too,all i need now is a tin of weatherproofing paint to cover the top with ,and any left will come in to do the shed roof. It's been a lovely day here ,but is very windy ,i was going to take Chris to fly his kite after school today ,but he has nochance in this,so the first day of better weather ,and my time is tied up for the evening. WEell ,i am off for a look round the boards ,and around the puter to see what i have been missing for the last month ,i am well out of touch now ,and it's going to be a few days before i am back in the swing of things..See ya all later, take care, Fred.PtfA&G&G&S> |
