Hi everyone, I'm sorry I have been missing again, I have doing more packing, will it never end? lol Sylvia, I hope Johan is soon well again, as you say his health is the most important thing. Take care both of you. Fred, The dome tents are marvellous aren't they? We do have a large frame tent which was very good when the children were small because in the lounge part of it, there was plenty of room for them to play. The dome tents get used far more often though and as you say they are put up in no time at all. Kathleen, I keep thinking of you and Susan, I hope Susan is improving now. Well I had better take my granddaughter to the train station now or she will miss the train. June xx |

Hi all, Kathleen, how is Susan? Glad to see Fred is back alive and well. You sounded as if you've had a good holiday Fred. Like you, if I lay down flat I'd never get up again LOL We have a thick mist today, at first we thought the bedroom windows were steamed up. Anyway, don't have to go out until lunchtime so hope it clears by then. My two grandchildren had their first driving lesson yesterday evening and Linda phoned me to say it went ok. They want to have these lessons together and can learn from each other's faults they say. Not much news now, but this keeps the thread going. Sylvia xxx |

Hello all, sorry I couldn't manage to get on earlier. The good news is that Susans white cell count is now up to 1.0 so they have taken her off the antibiotics. She had the scan Monday afternoon but had to wait for the doctor this morning (Tuesday) to get the results. She has a number of clots on her lungs and this afternoon they started her on warfarin injections. She had already been having blood thinning injections (in her stomach) poor girl is like a pincushion, the antibiotics were administered using a canula which was much better. Her breathing is still very bad, she needs to use the oxygen most of the time. She did ask the doctor if the cancer had spread but he said it was too early to say. As her white cell count is improved they have suggested that they ask the Oncology unit about completing her chemo on schedule. That is this Friday 9th and again on 16th, at least they can monitor her blood count and act quickly if it goes down again. It has been a long haul from the diagnosis in November last year, two operations plus all the chemo and radiotherapy but she has coped so well and kept her sense of humour (most of the time!!). How long she will be in hospital is dependent on how succesful is the treatment for the clots. The prognosis is - no guarantees, her cancer is aggressive and may well return. As the saying goes 'Hope springs eternal........'. Thank you all for your concerns, your prayers and good wishes it has meant a great deal to us all. God bless Love Kathleen |

Hi All Not a lot has happened in my little part of the world, all the blossoms are starting to appear and more birds can be heard at sunrise, so we must be in Spring. David enjoyed his meal at the restaurant for Fathers Day. It is quiet here at the moment as my children are on holidays and they are at their dads for the first week, they come here on Friday for the second week , then they go back to school and then David’s 3 children will be here for a bit over a week from Victoria for their school holidays. June I bet you will be glad when all the packing is finished, just think you have to turn around and unpack it all when you move into your new home, lol. At least you can do it at your own leisure with some of it. Brenda I hope you are still feeling better, not much fun when you don’t feel 100%. Fred good to see you back, I would say to have a drink of Lager for me too, but if it is warm, as I believe your beer is I dont think I would like it too much lol, I am more of a bourbon or topshelf drinker myself. It sounds like you had a real good time, it is good if you can go for a few days holiday and like it so much that you stay for a while longer. My Aunt and Uncle are driving around Australia in a small motor home at the moment, taking it as it comes and move on when they are ready, it would be a great way to see our country but I would miss the kids too much. Sylvia it is bad news that you have to put off your holiday, but as you said Johan’s health is the most important thing, maybe you will be able to make a trip when Johan gets better. Kathleen at least you have a bit of good news, here’s hoping that the good news continues. J.A. hope everything is ok in your neck of the woods, it is starting to warm up there? Hello to anyone I have missed, I hope this finds you all well. |

Hi Everybody How lovely to be back with you all.At last my health is getting better every day and whilst I will never be as fit as I would like at least my medication has things under control. An added bonus is the arrival of Spring and it rather looks as if we will have an early Summer, temps are already averaging 20c. I was very sorry to hear that some of you have also been plagued with health problems. My very best wishes to you Sylvia v.O and your Johan,Brenda hope your allergy has gone away and Kathleen special thoughts are with you and your Susan. Susan sounds like a very courageous young lady. June I can understand Beckham keeping tabs on you, funny how they know when something is up ! Just the sight of a suitcase sends our lot into panic. They do say that moving house is more stressful than giving birth - I'm still thinking about that - One great thing about it all is that even if only for a short period the wardrobes and cupboards are tidy ! Fred lovely to hear about your camping trip beats staying in a posh hotel doesn't it ? I know what you mean about foreign fishing fleets deplenishing the fish catch,we have the same problem down here also from the Japanese and Asian fleets. Best wishes to all that I have not mentioned, you all help to make my world a happy place to be. JudyNZ |

Morning everyone, and Judy, it's so nice to see you back again ,and nice to see you are feeling a bit better. Morning too ,to June ,and Brenda ,Sylvia ,[both of you ladies] and Kathleen and Susan and everyone i hav'nt mentioned. I have been following my son's recepie experiments with interest ,and can now say that i have tried some very nice ,home made soups he is selling in the shop now and very tasty they are too. I was in Tesco's yesterday and found them filling the shelves with christmas goodies, and now ,i will be humming carols under my breath for weeks and getting my christmas menus sorted ,no mean feat ,it looks as though i will need seating for around twenty guests again ,but i love it and am looking forward to the big day already. Liz and i may be taking a few days off in Berwick before the autumn really sets in ,we love the area ,and can now take the tent ,and stay a while instead of having to rush back. I may even take a spinning rod with me and try to catch my supper lol. Must go now and finish the housework before i get my ear bent again.I did try to sneak away from Beadnell ,and leave the missus on the site ,but the owner came running out and insisted that i took ALL my baggage [blast] lol.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S. |

Hi everybody, Well another warm day. I was tidying up my balcony when my neighbour's husband called and asked if I wanted my windows cleaned. I have in the past refused his offer, but it was so tempting today that I succumbed and said yes'. My grandson then came round with his dirty washing, so I am not idle. Went to the dentist today and should have my teeth within two weeks. Daren't think how much I have to pay. The health service pays some, but I think I have to pay some too. It is not something which I have done every year so don't know the cost. Johan has gone to pick up his driving license from the town hall in town. He doesn't seem too bad, but noticeable when putting his shoes on etc. then he is breathless. He is sorting out a couple of trips for us to do. He wants to go away as much as I do. I was so looking forward to seeing the shops in England/Scotland now that Xmas is coming. I don't tell Johan this otherwise he feels guilty. Kathleen, your pour Susan what she is going through. I do hope that after all this she can live a more normal life. Sometimes there does seem no end to things, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. June, when is the actual day of moving? How many of you in your 'new' house? Nice to see Fred contributing regularly again. You cannot go away too often Fred as we miss you. We miss others too of course, but with a memory like a sieve cannot think of all the names - Judy. Anyway, no peace for the wicked. Til tomorrow Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone, Yes I am still packing, lol. We haven't got the date for moving yet but I would imagine it will be 2/3 weeks time. There's threats of blockades at the petrol stations, my son in law left me a note on my PC last night to go and fill my car. I hate it when we also have these things to worry about too. Ann, When we go camping we take those blow up beds with us, they are so comfortable and just raised off the ground. Brenda, I'm hopeless at wrapping parcels, lol. I have written on each box, which room they have to go in. so hopefully it should be easier. Kathleen, Its good news about Susan's white blood cells, I hope her other treatment goes well too, she has been so brave and you take care of yourself too Kathleen, it has been a very stresful time for you. Sue, I love the time of the year when the buds start to appear, everywhere looks so fresh with new leaves, although I am looking forward to Christmas, I always look forward to Spring too. Judy, Its nice to have you back and feeling a better, You have the Spring to look forward as well, Beckham has gone very soft, I have just sat and cuddled him for 15 minutes, he doesn't usually stay still that long. Joy, Just let it go over your head, dont get involved. Fred, You never know, we may meet up on a camp site yet, lol We are the ones with the blow up beds, lol Where does your son sell these soups, I like the sound of those. Sylvia, I'm pleased that Johan has got his driving licence again. I hope they soon have his breathing sorted too. I dont know when the move is yet, there will still be four of us there permanently, 5 most weekends, my grandson still needs a bedroom for all his belongings. Right Brenda, Now that you have practised packing the books, we can find you some to do here, lol Well my peace has now been shattered, there is movement.so I had better start planning whats on for today. Take care everyone, June xx |

Morning all ,just a quickie before i go shopping. We tend to go a bit north on our camping trips ,so i may be seeing those blow up beds yet,but be warned ,our coastguard do NOT take kindly to people taking them down to the beach and falling asleep on them, they have rescued a few nuggets who have done that this year ,our beds are the ones you assemble from a bag, they have a steel frame with a canvas matress ,and are very comfortable ,but don't float well ,if i fell asleep ,i would not only get a bad suntan [again] but get a saltbath too.lol. It looks as though i had better top up my car as well ,owing to the warnings. It's all a load of piffle ,a report on the radio said that the oil was being diverted to america because it is a more lucrative market, what rubbish.the americans have the saME AMOUNT OF OIL BEFORE THE STORM AS THEY HAVE NOW,BUT HAVE LOST THEIR CRACKING PLANTS ,SO IT IS DIESEL ,AND PETROL THEY ARE SHORT OF,AND EVEN THAT IS RUBBISH,HOW CAN IT BE A MORE LUCRATIVE MARKET WHEN THEY ONLY PAY HALF WHAT WE DO IN THE FIRST PLACE [sorry about the caps lock peeps hee hee] These government chappies and chappessess must think us brits are thick ,to fall for that one,it's purely political again. it is not viable to ship oil to another country and sell twice as much ,if they are only paying half the price,i reckon it's around time the yanks stopped whinging about petrol prices reaching $2 dollars a gallon ,and started halving the size of their engines and woke up to the real world, iv'e had dealings with them in the forces ,ans were the situation reversed ,they would,nt do a thing for us,the last twice they have promised money to the third world ,they have renaged and did'nt do anything. It's a beutiful morning again ,so shopping trip over ,i think i will start to tidy up the garden ,after sneaking off to the sons deli to sample one of his new sandwiches lol, weeeell, i do enough cooking at home ,and it makes a change to eat something i hav'nt cooked [ well ,thats my excuse lol] Liz is ready to go ,so i'm off now ,see you all this afternoon,or evening.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S. |

Hi everybody, We've had another warm, humid day, so haven't done much. My pedicurist came and done my feet, so they're good for walking again! Annemie asked me to make a card for her granddaughter's christening, but it was difficult to find bits and pieces for this card. She was pleased with what I did, but I wasn't. I put a church in the background and a baby in the front with angel, cross etc. but wanted a font and a priest but couldn't buy these. I visited all the craft shops and looked on the internet. Plenty for communion, but not christening. Fred be careful camping when these storms come up or you may find yourself across the water on my doorstep. I'd have you cooking me a meal if you did! So Spain have got bad weather at the moment. It seems we cannot have a normal shower of rain now, but typhoons and strong winds etc.etc. Johan has been pottering around in the cellar (his domain where I never go). He is ok doing this, but cannot climb stairs etc. even putting his socks and shoes on he is out of breath. Good luck June and Kathleen with Susan and all our other guests. See you tomorrow Sylvia xxx |

hello everyone, another short message again ,I have been busy exchanging some trousers i bought in Cleveleys at weekend ,but had to go over to Salford which is where the nearest branch of the shop was. Then i had to put the clean bedding on the bed as I stripped it this morning before going out. Then had to go to town to met my friend Sandra, for some retail therepy and a meal because it is her birthday. We also met some other friends,it was really warm this afternoon, and then it poured down when we tried to get a taxi home.I looked like a drowned something or other when I got in.But still we had a good time. Nice to see everyone busy and seemingly happy. Speak to you tomorrow, need to go to bed as I am tired.Take care ,Brenda |

Hi Everybody A special :-) for Joy. Stick with us my dear and fill your day with friendly companionship and forget the few odd nutters that appear elsewhere. Fred, the blow up beds (li-los) are popular here also but I prefer the fold up camper bed also.We are lucky in that we don't have the creepy crawlers that some countries have, jjust the mozzies, and a spot of citronella takes care of that ! My husband is a keen trout fisherman so we enjoy an overnight stay on the banks of a country river that way he gets the evening and early morning fish whilst I enjoy the peace and quiet.listening to the bird life, sipping on a glass of Chardonnay. Ho Hum. Happy thoughts to you all JudyNZ |
