June Report 22 Aug 2005 08:14

Hi everyone, A rather damp day today I am afraid, it started raining yesterday evening and I dont think it has stopped yet except for about 30 minutes this morning. Yesterday was lovely, sunny and hot, we went to Formby Point to see the squirrels, unfortuneately we only saw about seven, by the amount of nutshells around, there was an abundance of food. I think another time, I would go in the early morning and not during school holidays. We did enjoy ourselves, it's a very popular place. Sue, We have boxes stacked with things that we dont need at the moment, it will be better when we get an actual moving date, then we can work towards that. Dannielle sounds as though she had a good time, I think it is a good experience for them to go camping. Of course we have so much rain here thats its usually hard to go without having rain, whereas I would expect in your neck of the woods, it is unusual. Sylvia v O, The house we are moving to is less than a mile from where we are now but it is twice the size. With 3 generations living there, we need our own space. I'm laughing at you delegating jobs for Johan, thats the way to do it. Lynda, We still haven't got a moving date, I expect it to be about 3/4 weeks away. I can understand you wanting less land, it takes a lot of looking after, Where I am now, its only a small garden, I purposely bought it for that, at that time I needed to down size but the one we are moving to, is on a corner, so it has gardens at the front, side and back. My son in law is a keen gardener, so he will be looking after it, I will probably stick to the patio pots. I hope your dad is still making good progress. Sylvia in Perth,OZ, I hope your Rheumatoid Athritis is soon better, and the spots you have aren't serious. Do let us know what the doctor has to say. Dont worry about not getting on every day, we all only come on when it is convenient. Well I had better go and put the rubbish out now, I will speak again tomorrow. June xx

Hello again, I have just come back from the doctor's and I have to go on Friday to have a biopsy done on one of the spots to see if it is cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma. It is a pretty rare disease but can be fatal so I hope it is not. I am terrified, so please say a prayer for me. Love from Sylvia in WA XX

Hi Sylvia, Hope your spots have turned out to be ok. I had the same and have had them cut away. I wasn't afraid, so hope you won't be. No pain, stitches, but otherwise ok. June, I've learned the art of delegating jobs now. Say 'you do it so much better to the man' and he'll jump to show off - really! I really am an old hand at it after almost 50 years of marriage and married to someone who had 7 sisters to look after him. I had 7 mothers in law LOL I have been to the dentist this morning and am going to have some new teeth made - not a full set, can't part with the few that I have - but a few top and a few bottom. Have to go again next week. Well I must pack our case for tomorrow as we want to make an early start. Oh up early again. Probably won't see you for a few days. Look after yourselves and don't go doing anything silly, such as falling down the stairs. Sylvia xxx

Hi All Sylvia in W.A. my thoughts are with you in this worrying time. Brenda yes Dannielle did enjoy her first camp, they did sleep in the tent on the second night, as it was tooo late to pitch the tent on the first night they got there. I can sympathise with you when you said about your son returning along with the dirt, as Dannielle told me that her leaders said she should get a badge for being the dirtiest scout, but she did like sleeping in the tent even if it did wake them up shaking about as they had some strong winds during the night. June yes we are a bit like UK when we are in our winter we can expect rain more often than not, but the last couple of years our winter has been quite mild with not as much rain as we used to get. Well it is only short today as Dannielle is home from school for the day. The school has problems with the toilets and only the staff toilets could be used so they asked if as many of the children that could go home for the day be picked up. Anyway hello to all that I havent mentioned and I do hope Fred gets his puta up and running soon, I miss his messages on here.

Dear All Hope everyone is well. I am good here and still trying to get everything done to put the house on the market, but between babysitting my 3 year old granddaugher 3 days a week, it doesnt leave me much time to finish the painting and everything else I want to do. Kelsea is a little pet and she is just so adorable you cant help but love her. She conned me good this morning. My daughter dropped her off on the way to work and said Mum she has only just got up so she needs breakfast. So I offered Kelsea Weetbix and she said she didnt like it, usually she will have cornflakes or something similar, but my pantry is bare. I didnt even have bread to give her toast. She asked for an ice cream cone, and I thought better than nothing, at least until I can get to the shops and get some food later. She ate it and then I came back indoors and there is the little monkey at the breakfast bar with the weetbix. I said do you want some? She said yes. Little Con merchant and only three. My husband laughed when he got home and he said she likes weetbix you know. No I didnt, but as I told Kelsea you only get to con grandma once, no second chance. Brenda, I am glad to hear your Dad has had some respite Hope all continues to go well for him, Sylvia in Perth - Good luck and my prayers are with you. Our climate in Aus is so harsh for our skins. Perth is a beautiful spot we lived there for 3 years when my husband was in the Navy. June - I would stick to the patio pots - and let your son in law do the garden. Great Idea! I just wish my son in laws were into gardening. My son in law got the mower out one day when they were living here and I thought great hes going to mow the backyard (almost 1 acre) Silly me how wrong was I. He simply mowed a cricket pitch for them all to play cricket. Another time, he my son and husband got out the mowers and again I got conned thinking they'll get this done in no time. WRONG!!!yet again. This time they did a mini golf course, complete with roughs and finely mowed greens. Just cant win can I. lol. Gotta love them as the saying goes. Thank goodness the horses have the other two acres!! Take care and look forward to another chat,. Lynda (Qld)

Hi everyone, I'm a bit later than usual, I took my granddaughter to work and the barriers at the level crossings got stuck. Then I took my daughter for an interview, so fingers crossed that she will be successful this time, Usually employers dont want to know disabled people, which she is since her car accident. The sun is out now, we had a dreadful downpour earlier. JA, Lovely to hear from you again. I hope you are keeping well. Sylvia v O, I must try that delegating trick. I hope you enjoy your few days away. Brenda, Yes we have sold subject to contract, so we have all our fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong. I hope your car passed its MOT ok. Sue, I wonder which one pushed something down the toilet.lolI dare bet it was a boy. I dont suppose Dannielle complained though, lol Sylvia from Perth,Oz, I'm pleased you are feeling more positive. A very good idea to see the Skin Specialist. Fingers crossed for you. Lynda, You granddaughter sounds as bright as a button. I think she has a bright future ahead of her. Hi Joy. Well I think I had better get some more packing done now, so see you tomorrow. June xx

Hi All Just a quick message as I am still a bit sore, I had a fall yesterday and took the tip of my middle finger off, it had to be my left hand and Im left handed :-( and also bruised my hip pretty bad, apart from having trouble typing I am alright, it will teach me to take a bit more care when on uneven ground. June mmm I wonder who did sabbotage the loo's. Dannielle actually wanted to stay at school, because most of the kids did go home, the ones that couldnt be sent home had an easy day, and Dannielle was just about to start playing a game that involved maths problems, so at least it was learning, but I am lucky as she loves her school and hates missing it. Just before I go, I have just found out that there is a Family history Fair near where I live at the weekend so I thought I might go and have a look as I have never been to one before. Does anyone know much about these events? If so what can I expect, and should I take anything like information on my family with me?

~*sylvia*~ Report 25 Aug 2005 10:55

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and Sue, I hope you are not feeling too sore. Aren't you a bit young to fall over. I have had several falls but am much older than you. I went to see the Specialist today and he said he didn't think I had anything to worry about but thinks I should still have the biopsy done tomorrow. I am feeling much more positive now and am sorry to have made such a fuss but I really was scared at the time. I will let you know the results when I get them. I'm sorry I haven't anything very interesting to talk about and am such a bore. Will see you all again soon. Love from Sylvia XX

Hi everyone, We have a mixed bag of weather here today, sun wind and rain. We have been to the airport and picked my grandson up, he has just gone to see his friend from early schooldays, he had arranged to speak to him on the internet but surprised him by walking in on him. Sue, I hope you are soon better, Good job you dont live here people would be teasing you and telling you to take more water with it. lol The Family History Fairs over here have CDs and Old Maps and books for sale, all to do with Family History of course, so you had better take some money with you. There's usually different stalls dealing with different parts of the country so you often can gleam a little bit of information from them. I hope you find it interesting. Sylvia in Perth Oz, I'm glad you felt better after talking to the skin specialist but yes its as well to have the biopsy too. I think we all feel that our own lives are boring and yet to others they are interesting so dont worry about that. We love hearing from you. I'm off now, see you tomorrow. June xx

Hi everybody, Here I am, like a bad penny, back again from a few days away. Well on Tuesday we left here 10.00 am and arrived at my daughters at around 12.00 noon. After a quick bite we went further south to visit an old friend whose husband died a short while ago and then to Johan's sister who has had 2 strokes and is struggling to walk again. She is 82 years of age. My daughter Janet drove us there fortunately which gave Johan a break. Tuesday morning after breakfast Janet, her partner Henk, Johan and I drove into Belgium to a large shopping mall. Janet had borrowed a wheelchair for me and took it in turns with Henk to push me around. It was lovely to see different shops and different articles. We had coffee and later a nice lunch there. We arrived home so late that Janet asked us if we were hungry any more and we said no, so she opened a tin of soup and we had that with bread. Janet and I played cards for a while and when football had finished on tv Henk joined us. Johan never plays cards, but Janet and I like to. Now today we travelled home and did it quite comfortably with no queues of lorries like we had going down to Janet. Annemie has already been down to see me and we are going to the market tomorrow. In the afternoon I am going to my hairdresser for a permanent. I always have a permanent at her house as it is more convenient, but for a blow dry she comes here. Sorry I have not mentioned anybody, but I did read all your messages, but my simple mind cannot remember who is who. Sylvia xxx
