hi brenda I do believe there is a bad tooth fairy about this site, after having a dentist for 40 yrs he has gone and retired so I am seeing a new one on oct 17th, when I was a little girl in england I had a bad experience with a dentist and have had a life long fear of them, my son has already told this new dentist to expect the worst when I arrive for the apt, the old one used to come out on the street and bring me in terrible or what, it is midnight here I have just finished watching inspector linley one of the ones after havers gets shot and helen looses the baby, so glad to see this series backplus tow glasses of low cal wine how boring. it is a week since anne went back to bury and I am feeling at loose ends so was checking this site to see how everyone is. anne called this morning and the weather has seemed to have improved in bury, she was off to the market lucky person and for a visit to marks and sparks. well enough from me I should go to be goodnight all dorothy canada

Hi everyone, Well I am back again after not feeling too well again for a couple of days which I think is due to the medicine I am taking for the fungus I have in my mouth. I kept crying yesterday and today and am feeling sick. Made a piece of toast for breakfast and boiled egg, but could only eat the toast, no dinner either. Will try and see the doctor again tomorrow about this medicine as it is not like me to be so depressive. Yes, must be something in this dental demon, as not me, but Johan has a loose tooth. I am so cross because he decided to change his insurance last time saying 'I never need treatment' so am not going to pay for full insurance. Now, he comes with a loose tooth. He has changed his insurance again, but that doesn't go in until January so he will just have to hang on to his loose tooth. Beautiful weather again here today. Have a nice evening. Sylvia xxx

Hi everybody, Well not many people around, are there? I went to the doctor today and she told me to stop taking the medicine I had as I was feeling so sick. She hopes the six days would have cleared the fungus in my mouth. I also have a letter for the throat specialist. I made an appointment via internet and was lucky there was a free place on the same day as I go to my gynaecologist, which saves another trip into town. We have beautiful weather here and Johan and I are going to Almelo tomorrow to one of Johan's sisters. It is in the east of the Netherlands and about 2 hours' drive. They have asked us to eat which is nice of them. Not that I have an appetite at the moment, but did manage to eat a little today. I had my help in today and we had planned to turn out a cupboard in my kitchen but she knew I was a bit 'down' so carried on doing other things for me which I didn't feel like doing, such as dusting the sitting room and bedroom. She is so nice. Well hope to see someone on this thread tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Hi everybody, Well Johan and I didn't get our day out as Johan started to lose blood last night from his anus. He has also diarrhee (spelling?). We went to the house doctor this morning and he had to go to the internist at the hospital. I have been hanging around the hospital with Johan all day. Johan has to stay in hospital a few days while they carry out some examinations. This evening I went again to the hospital and took some clothes etc. for him. My neighbour took us this morning to the hospital and took me this evening to visit Johan. I do feel alone at the moment. Tomorrow my granddaughter is coming here direct from work and will drive me to the hospital. Brenda, I do hope you pick up soon. I am a little better and must cope now, but still a little sick feeling. Sylvia xxx

Hello Sylvia, So sorry to hear that Johan is unwell, it is hard to cope alone especially as you have not been so well yourself. I will be thinking of you and praying for a swift recovery for Johan and trust you will feel better yourself. You are always so busy, lively and cheerful. Hi to everyone, not going to add more as I tend to lose my connection around this time every night. Takes a few minutes to get reconnected but it is annoying when it happens in the middle of doing something. Don't know why it happens just one of those annoying little things. God bless all Love Kathleen

Sorry to read about the illnesses. However, I am pleased to see that John and Mavis are renewing. John - I saw Judith Bennett recently. She was in England for a conference, and she came to Bournemouth for a few days.

Hi Sylvia. So sorry Johann is not too well - thinking of you both especially as you yourself are not too well. Chin up Sylvia - we are with you in our thoughts all the time. I have had a pain in my rib area for 5 days - went to the Doc and I have a cracked rib., Pretty painful but the Panadol helps. Not sure how it happened. Also had a cyst on my eyelid which the Doc removed whilst I was there so I now have a very sore eye. Apart from that we are fine!!! Still a very cold wind here in Papamoa but beautiful sunshine. My Begonias are beginning to grow now - can't put them outside until this wind warms up. The strawberries are cropping really well - should be able to make a couple of jars of jam. That is if I stop eating them!! We have blooms on a couple of our runner bean plants - the ones which we left in the ground. They are doing well. I have plants ready to put in the gaps to complete the row. All for now - will be praying for you and Johann Sylvia. Love Mavis NZ

Hi everyone, Well Johan has been drinking litres of some horrible fluid to clean out his bowels ready for the examination tomorrow. We hope that he can come home in the afternoon when that is over. My granddaughter came and picked me up this evening to drive me to the hospital, but she doesn't finish work until 6 o'clock so we were late at the hospital. We did stay longer though. I went on my scootmobile to the chemists today to pick up a prescription and then went on to the shops to get a couple of odds and ends. It has been a very long day and too quiet for me. I went to bed at 1.30 am but managed to sleep round until 8.00 am this morning. Thank you all for your kind messages. It does help to know somebody is thinking about you. Sylvia xxx

Having trouble with my neck and shoulder at the moment so I can sympathise with you. Doesn't help with the sleeping problem either does it? Off to bed now as I am freezing, it has turned so cold. It took ages to find the thread. God bless all love Kathleen

Morning all from a nice mild Newcastle on tyne, where Fred is having a cup of tea before going out to do battle with the gardens. I was told last night that i had the day off to day,and made the mistake of telling boss lady,so i now have a day of garden to do ,plus housework [waaah] but it isn't all bad news ,i have been promessed a chinese tonight[ not a young lady ,sigh] but chicken, done cantonese style done in beanshoots with a fried rice base ,yummy. the boss said i could have a portion of chips too ,but i decided to be a good boy and turned those down.hee hee. Has anyone started the christmas cakes yet?[only 10 weeks to go peeps] ,liz is starting ours next weekend but we are having the christmas puds that we had last year, simple to mix the night before use,and cooked in the microwave and only taking a few minutes,as nice as the traditional ones ,really tasty and no hassle, cheaper than the shop bought ones too,so if any one wants the recepie ,sing out .Okay? i think i will kick off this morning with the lawns before starting clearing the flower beds out,and sweeping May's chalet out ready for the seedlings. I have sent a stinking e,mail to the Ayreshire c.council, and their local enviremental agency about the state of their waterways and local harbour, but i won't hold my breath [as i did in the harbour]lol, but i have also sent an e,mail to friends of the earth so i reckon the council will be getting some grief next week[seves 'em right too,it is not acceptable to be pumping raw sewage into the sea in this day and age. Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend, take care all,'specialy Sylvia,i hope you get some good news over these tests love,i have my fingers crossed for you as ,i'm sure all your friends on here have See you all later when i get the evening off for good behaviour lol.Fred

Hallo everybody, Well I am still a 'grass widow' as Johan is still in hospital. They want to make sure he has no new blood in his stools, but because he has had a day of not eating he cannot produce anything to look at. Let's hope he can now go to the toilet and we will know what they are going to do. If he still has blood they will do an operation by taking away a piece of his intestine. It will be keyhole surgery so won't involve a lot of cutting. I am not sure if they will do this operation soon or whether he will come home first and then return to hospital. My daughter from Eindhoven is coming tonight and together with her partner we will all go to the hospital. I hope tomorrow night my youngest daughter will be able to come. Today I went to the shops to buy some gift vouchers for the neighbour on the third floor who has just come home from having a kidney taken away. Usually we would give flowers, but I thought she would get so many bunches of flowers and that it would be better to give her something she can choose herself when she is able to get out. Annemie was busy helping our new porter clearing the leaves away and using a high powered water hose to clean away the green, so I offered to do the shopping. The weather is very cold and feels damp although it is not raining. Now Fred, don't work too hard. Sylvia xxx

Hello everyone, just a few lines as my arm and shoulder are really aching, have been to doctors it could be a strain or trapped nerve, she is not sure!! have been given painkillers, and told to rest !!! Sylvia do hope you get yourJohann home soon, and everything is ok.Glad you are having your family with you,it does make it easier. Hi everyone. Don't we all get fed up with our aches and pains as we mature!! I am the same as you Brenda - the pain killers make me so sleepy and only seem to work for a little while. I turn over in bed and the pain is back. Poor you Sylvia - do hope they fix Johann up soon. It is such a worry and you are not too well yourself. But you have a caring family by the sound of it. I had Fred's recipe for the quick Chrissie Pud and made it last year. Really tasty and equally as good as the traditional recipes. Will make it again this year. Have been to an 80th birthday do today. Bert (a friend from Wolverhampton) is here in NZ for 6 months staying with his sister. Had a great meal and a beautiful cake. All us oldies there today and next week it will be a Barbie for the youngsters (and us!) with another sister of Berts. Bert comes to NZ every other year for 6 months. He is a widower. He loves our sunshine. Have been watching the Netball Test Match on TV tonight. Australia and N.Z. Very fast and exciting match. The N.Z's won - just. One all now and the final match will be on Monday. Go the Silver Ferns!! Still very windy here but lots of sunshine. More gardening to do tomorrow - getting things under control again now. All for tonight. Love Mavis NZ
