Dave can I just say, I went on Alpha course and all I can say is it is how you define things in your own head;; My cousin who was gay just died recently and I know he has gone to a better place where God loves everyone warts and all;; Why do I know ??? because there was nobody who wished anyone any harm like him on this earth;; and it all boils down to ;; do to others what you would like done to yourself;; God loves all irrispective;; (spelt that wrong I bet) Babs

David I have to go to the 'hot spot' as that is were all my friends will be! As long as there is a bottle (or case) of Captain Morgan (do you think ice would last long down there?), a pack (or carton)of Rothmans and some good grub, I'll be a happy camper! Cuzzy Deb Shall I bring my Karaeoke machine? We may as well party.

I had never heard what has been said about left handers, so I did a search on the OLB and found the following. 1.) But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab. 2) Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss. Both quotes are from the Old Testament book of Judges. David

Hold on a min that Jesus guy hung around with 12 men I do believe. Maybe the odd lady of the night every now and then. Even his father wasn't the father if you know what I mean. There is a place for everyone in the other world otherwise we would be in this one would we?

St John's gospel chapter 3. verse 16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Harlow girl don't worry - it's only my updated version on what went on. It's true to the book so no latter day man of 12 wearing a hood is coming after me.

I would like to defend the only person I know who has been involved with the Alpha course. The church playleader who runs the playgroup, and does remind people of the Alpha course running later in the day, is the sweetest most welcoming lady I have ever met. She is quite beautiful. Not balding, spotty or geeky - slightly hippy-ish in her stripey jumpers and Doc Martins maybe ... As a hypocrit who attends church playgroup 'cause it's the nicest, I say 'Be good to others'. I don't reckon anything else matters.

I believe If there IS a god, then he will be a loving god, who will accept any creature on this earth into his kingdom I don't trust the bible, it contradicts itself. Many of its devout followers preach it down to the last word, but many also use quotes from it to their own advantage when it suits them. I used to work with a lovely black lady called 'vera'* name changed.. At the time Keith blacklock was murdered on the Broadwater farm estate in tottenham, in a riot started because a black woman dropped down dead when her home was raided by police we were having a discussion on the events. I said that it was awful that the copper was killed. (awful that the black lady had died as well) She said 'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.' meaning, one of our people was killed, so its right one of yours was as well....revenge.. But the bible states, as I pointed out to her 'Thou shalt not KILL'. as said, people will use whatever part of the bible for their own gain, and ignore the rest which contradicts their point. Not saying there are not some great followers out there, who find great comfort in the bible.

sorry... couldnt resist it folks We can have a gay, meat eating, fur wearing party here (But smokers will have to hang their fags out of the window... as its warm enough wivout the fags) and we can sing some...warm songs to go with the decor. THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN - 'Fire' I am the god of hell fire and I bring you.. Fire, I'll take you to burn. Fire, I'll take you to learn. I'll see you burn! You fought hard and you saved and learned, but all of it's going to burn. And your mind, your tiny mind, you know you've really been so blind. Now's your time burn your mind. You're falling far too far behind. Oh no, oh no, oh no, you gonna burn! Fire, to destroy all you've done. Fire, to end all you've become. I'll feel you burn! You've been living like a little girl, in the middle of your little world. And your mind, your tiny mind, you know you've really been so blind. Now's your time burn your mind, you're falling far too far behind.

Thanks to everyone for your comments:) I do realise that not everyone who attends or instructs on Alpha courses are bigoted in this way - I know a few others who are all very nice people. But it is, I've since read, a belief of the founders and part of the belief system. Sheila & Jen - well wherever we are going we'll all be together lol Jayvee - I was always taught that that is one of, if not *the* most important passages of the Bible. It sums up what my faith is all about.
