Oh - and another thing, while I'm on me high horse here. I thought the faith was based on how people treat eachother and other living beings, not what their sexuality is. That's what my parents and grandparents taught my brothers and I. And I'd say that's much, much more important. So there! (I don't know what they'd say about me: being epileptic - though the fits are under control - apparently makes me a child of the devil, according to some churchgoers! That's me bound for Hell, then) |

Ginny and David - lets call the train Pricilla Queen of the Dessert (profiteroles for preference). Get on board everyone, we're heading for David's Nan's place! Jacqui |

On a serious note I would be very suspicious of any individual/institution or organization that tried to tell me who I should or should not approve of. Sadly, organizations like these seem to attract people who are 'looking for something' and their weaknesses and insecurities are latched onto. I,m sure that if it was not affiliated to christianity it would be deemed a cult. |

On a serious note, I know several middle-aged people who have subscribed (is that the word) to the Alpha Course, and before David's thread I had already thought that they were trying to 'jump the queue'...........................why do so-called intelligent beings need to resort to this type of course to gain 'enlightenment' (for want of a better phrase)? Jacqui |

I thought that when you 'saw the light' it just happened, you didn't have to do a course, get a certificate or of course pay your subscription! |

My feelings exactly. Worrying that normal intelligent people buy into these belief systems that are the antithesis of the message of the New Testament. |

The train now standing at Platform 13 is the midnight express to 'Wherever' All those who consider themselves already enlightened individuals with warmth and compassion to their fellows, jump on board. Bigots, racists, etc not allowed. Dining facilities are available (non-smoking compartments are situated up near the engine compartment). We are off on the journey of a lifetime. Jacqui |

Oh My Gawd Ginny - I'm left-handed, too! So that's my brain and my left hand that are condemned, then. Yes, I agree that some people can be vulnerable to this garbage. So let's say Hiss Boo to this Alpha wotsit and let them get on with their sad ways. Mmm, wonder how they'd deal with a heterosexual criminal? Food for thought, eh. |

'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other (or profiteroles!) body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What A Ride!' |
