I too am new to the board and find that I have had a hostile response form some members. Its a pity really, as I am sure that not everyone is like that. Hi Tara and to all those who read this. Debbie |

Bev, I admire you for speaking out, as I have others in the past. And agree totally with your observations........as do many other members I'm sure! It has become a minefield of tempraments, and childish tantrums over recent months, and so disappointing that a great many members are no longer enjoying what in reality, they too are expected to pay for! However, for as long as Genes are not prepared to regulate and monitor some peoples behaviour on here, it will remain up to the individual member to choose who they speak to or not. I too have taken the decision to avoid contencious and/or childish threads...........which in principle (apart from stirring, upsetting and bullying) only provide mindless entertainment for those participating! Apart of course, for those members on the receiving end, that goes without saying! At the end of the day, this board is not the 'Be all and end all' of anyone's life.............when one has a real life to live in society. In this kind of 'set up', even 'so called' friends can be quick to turn on each other, if the other party is not in total agreeance with their mindless, uncaring/unthinking coercions of others. Which let's face it, are only practiced to try and make themselves appear popular! How sad is that?................what a way to make friends. These are purely the type of relationships, that will eventually peter out with a great deal of acrimony on all sides...............Who wants or needs that kind of friendship in the first place? I certainly don't. I think the majority of the members are astute enough to realise those members amongst us who are totally genuine and want nothing more than a quiet life high-lighted with laughter and genuine friendship. Enough said I think........lol..............if someone presents me with a real soap box............I do make the most of it! Jen |

As I said on another thread, Bev - I am, by nature, a happy person. I type friendly threads and posts. However, I have seen posts addressed to me and to others that I have not been happy to see. Irrespective of these, I shall continue to be friendly and to welcome new members to the site. Joy |

I dont know what was posted late last night as I went to bed, and for the last week, was not online as I was in Cornwall. Regarding the 'Us and Them' situation, I certainly do not want to be part of a group of people who delight in bullying and upsetting the board. I want no part or association with them. If that makes us into two camps then so be it. If members continue to witness the bullying and nastiness that others are conducting, then decide that in their opinion, that its right for those people to bully and be nasty to individuals on here, then they go on to support these people time and time again ...and themselves trying twist facts and words to make the victims in all of this look the troublemakers....then they must expect decent folk on here not to agree with them. Decent folk also have the right to opinions and to express it. It also makes me cringe regarding the innocence portrayed by people who act as if they were never involved regarding recent upsets on here in the first place (before anyone jumps, im not pointing the finger at anyone in particular ) What goes around and all that.... Heres to a nice peaceful Friday Elaine x |

I agree with Elaine. I have been on here for about a year now. It seems to me there are a lot of genuine lovely people on here and a few who like to stir with a big stick. However my motto now is I join in with the genuine and ignore the threads that will cause trouble if added to. |

Nothing has changed then!! This site is brilliant for the records boards and tips but the general board is like a different site altogether and can get very nasty! Linda (who doesn't post these days because of all the nastiness which keeps cropping up on this site) |

Oh Bev, I'm sorry you are made to feel that way. I and may others tend to get ignored - like when you enter a conversation and the chat bounces over your head and continues on like you never said a thing - they tend to hog the board. Yes I would agreed with you that some threads can be a little clickie like you have to be initiated into a hush hush sect to enter into the conversation - and you have to know the secret hand shake or password :) If it upsets you, then don't bother even attempting to wiggle your way into the conversation - start your own thread, and let the closed camp keep to their own 'Little' world after all the thread might be all they have. Have purposely kept out of this and kept my head down following a few nasty experiences. However, I have changed my name as suggested and thrown off the person who was being nasty. Since then I have had lots of fun on the board and 'talked' to some really nice people. It's been a real giggle and I have learned a few things along the way. All I can say is don't be put off, the good far outweigh the bad and to those who enjoy making trouble - get a life..... Actually, am now making a stand - my name is Gilly and if the person who was sending nasty pm's dares to contact me again I will report it and not let it drop this time! Have a FANTASTIC day everyone :) |

If you know your own mind, then you post what you want, where you want, when you want. Its a bit like going into a pub, not everyone sits at the same table and talks in a big group - some you'll aviod, some you'll pass the time of day with, some you'll ignore completely, some you'll chat all night to. I chose , of my own volition, not to talk to some. Jess x |
