Hi. Is anyone going to the Yorkshire FHF this year? Its on Saturday 30th June at York racecourse.

thanks for letting us know the date. My daughter lives quite near there so maybe I will manage a trip. Went to the Borthwick institute in February which was quite interesting although I never found anything relating to my lot.

although i live in scarborough and i am near enough to go, will be working that day and so cannot go. would love to though! tina x

thanks for that info. I will try my best to go to that. A lot of my ancestors were born around York, Selby. They are the Smith's and Lee's.

Anybody else coming then? I spoke to SBPF Wendy at the weekend and we're hoping to come up together. I've got no sense of direction but I think I can just about make it to Wendy's house! lol. Then Wendy is going to drive us up to York. Jeanette x

I have not been to one before either. Anybody know how much it is to get in? Where abouts are you Angelic Alaina. We will be going on the train as well. We have to change at Doncaster.

I shan't be able to go but I would love to. While we were on a short break in Scarborough last week we went to Helmsley, where one of my grandmothers was born. It is a lovely little town. My father was also born in Yorkshire but I can't remember where just at the moment. Chrissie

I'll be catching the train, as I don't have transport. Will be changing at Leeds for York. Those that are coming by train, could we possibly meet at the York station? Has anyone heard from Jan in York? Will Jan be coming along this year? Gem:)))

do we have to catch one of those bendy buses to get there. If so you need to have £1 coins and 50p's as they have a ticket machine and no conductor.

Hi Gem haddock sent me a txt about this thread. Yes I will be going. As you say Gem if no one else does it we can always tannoy for Haddock at the fair.
