Barbra

Barbra Report 22 Jun 2017 12:41

Well are the DUP talks still on ? or are they demanding to much any one any idea Barbra :-S

Dermot

Dermot Report 22 Jun 2017 12:48

The mixture in the cauldron is bubbling nicely as expected.

News reports from the experts indicate that a decision is likely to be made sometime during the current millennium.

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 22 Jun 2017 12:53

They wanted £ 2 bn plus extras as time goes by as is customary for the D.U.P. Who see "agreements" in much the same way as the Danes a thousand years ago. The D.U.P. have become nervy that the Tory govt may not be long for this world so now they want the money up front or some kind of binding commitment that would outlast the current regime.

May is also up against lack of trust from the EU who later today will politely reject her plan for the Home Office to look after their 3 million citizens living in the UK.

Maybot will prob survive until 12 Aug but after that the guns will be out.

Barbra

Barbra Report 22 Jun 2017 13:12

Agree don't think Mrs May will be long at no 10 but who will lead the Country ?..its just a sham. Dermot :-D apparently 600 high rise flats unsafe ? they are all being checked .disgusting putting peoples safety last suppose in an ideal world four stories high is enough ?

Caroline

Caroline Report 22 Jun 2017 15:01

All those probably unsafe flats is outrageous. It's said the unsafe stuff was slightly cheaper well often cheapest isn't the best as is proven here but how come no one tested it properly in the first place.
As Barbra said who will lead if not May?...not saying she's the only one capable just who would take over none are obvious outstanding stars.
Rollo comment obviously goes to the Glorious 12th but why use that...just say come the end of summer she's gone or some such not she's going to get shot and killed.

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 23 Jun 2017 13:30

Seen on pub copy of the D.M. Today...
J.C ahead of May in polls
D.U.P. In talks with Labour and LDs - Labour has no problem spending £ 2 bn
D.U.P. demand open border with Eire written into law.

elsewhere May proposal for EU residence rights gets null points.
Maybe 12 Aug was overly optimistic.

Caroline

Caroline Report 23 Jun 2017 13:35

You read a copy of the Dail Mail wow did lightning strike??

Still calling for the PM to be shot then I see.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 23 Jun 2017 14:01

Yes, obviously the DM.

There are three papers who claim the DUP have held 'secret' talks with Labour:
The Daily Fail
The Sun
The Express

One question - if they're 'secret' - how do these rags know about it?
All three are well known for being 'economical' with the truth, particularly when it comes to politics.

No mention of it in the Independent or Guardian.

Good to know a 'reliable' source is used for issuing views as though they were statements of fact!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 23 Jun 2017 14:23

I believe it when I see it re polls, newspaper articles etc

Caroline

Caroline Report 23 Jun 2017 14:33

Well to be fair it was I think 34% for him 33% for her and 30% no idea

So not exactly overwhelming and what is the error rate?

ElizabethK

ElizabethK Report 24 Jun 2017 10:52

Jeremy, Ed Balls & Yvette Cooper all at Glastonbury - would this be classed as "grooming" :-D

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 25 Jun 2017 00:44

Barbra

Barbra Report 26 Jun 2017 13:15

Dermot

Dermot Report 26 Jun 2017 14:31

Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.

But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones.

(Donald Rumsfeld 2002).

# May be appropriate for these latest political shenanigans.

Utterly shameful.

Barbra

Barbra Report 30 Jun 2017 10:47

No decision till Monday now with DUP is it going to work ? our country needs stability .just seems to me a sham .Corbyn not much better sacking his party members & one resigning ..who could do a better job David Davis he should be our PM .sorry I don't think Mrs May is up for the job .off out now Bye

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 30 Jun 2017 12:27

The election result amounted to "none of these" which was about right.
At least the leader of the LibDems had the decency to resign.
The DUP was on nobody's shopping list. Pushing through brexit and budgets with them is wildly undemocratic and will destroy the Tories.
So we continue to continue with both major English parties an inchoate rabble divided amongst themselves.
David Davis is as thick as a plank. He will continue to demonsrate this in the brexit "negotiations". Pride cometh before a fall.
A u turn each day keeps elections away.
Ps: UK passport holders wishing to remain resident in the EU as of right post Brexit will still have the option of Eire where they speak English (after a fashion), drive on the left and like tea and bacon sarnies. emigrants from the UK can get some practice at using the euro which has a 50% chance of being adopted by the UK on current trends.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 30 Jun 2017 12:51

Well, I've given up politics and it's all because of what I saw in Parliament the other day with the younger version of D Abbot sitting next to Corbyn who could not keep her mouth shut as Corbyn rose to speak.

Corbyn had the brass neck to ask what someone was doing over the week-end, meaning helping those who were affected by the fire. He was the ageing would-be rock star, along with McConnell, at Glastonbury.

I know this has occurred before but have we really been so bad that we deserve this calibre of politician?

InspectorGreenPen

InspectorGreenPen Report 1 Jul 2017 09:24

None of this is ideal but anything that keeps Corbyn and his idiots out of power is the best of the bad job.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 1 Jul 2017 09:46

Agree IGP.

Isn't today the day that yet another march was planned?

I have got fed up with people having a dig at May. It's been constant harassment, accusations and blame for everything going on at the moment but she has had enough nous to withstand it all - no doubt to Corbyn's chagrin.

I think it's known that I am a swinging voter but I do wish Labour would have the good grace to let her get on with it.
