Unbiased as to these particular articles, that there has been a lack of a central 'hub' if you will, to co-ordinate the relief efforts and provide info.

Caroline Report 17 Jun 2017 23:57

This must be the first lesson to be learnt then, she's admitted there have been problems...though at the end of the day for hands on day to day action should this be the PM and the Government dealing with it....if it had happened in Liverpool for instance would they expect the PM etc to be there dealing with it?

BrendafromWales

BrendafromWales Report 18 Jun 2017 10:58

I do agree with supercrutch and Caroline...
What a month the PM has had.

I wonder if the results of the election would have been the same had these disasters not happened?

She had to cope with her affairs of government as well as electioneering,Corbyn could go about on his campaign without these extra duties.
It was one thing after another, and how could they put the whole blame on her,she has only held the office for a short time?

Leave her alone and don't fire up this vendetta against her.
These tower blocks should have had some sort of fire escape as hotels have had to have for a good number of years. One staircase is ridiculous.

Caroline

Caroline Report 18 Jun 2017 11:15

But who would replace her Dermot from any party? Better the devil etc maybe?

supercrutch Report 18 Jun 2017 12:46

Didn't see the original but if that's what Rollo said it was a cheap shot.

I am in touch with many Muslims on social media and some are saying that they are very uncomfortable being labelled as the social poor and disadvantaged.. They have enormous pride and would give their last £1 to charity.

How to further push a wedge between racial divides from the perspective of the 'other side'. (and I phrase that with care).

Caroline

Caroline Report 18 Jun 2017 12:47

For the record I didn't RR it.

RolloTheRed Report 18 Jun 2017 13:17

The Maybot is needing a way out a fire escape.
The exits are blocked by steely eyed brexiters, business remoaners and balaclava men and women bearing armalites
So as a vicar's daughter she has turned to prayer.

I made no mention of Islam or the the people living in and near Latimer Rd.
Some of the posts here were very odd posting Web offers to rent for burned out flats for example. What were they getting at?

Over the last year I have often posted my support for Islamic people living in the middle east and their human right to be accorded refugee status in the EU. To say the least of it not a popular point of view on these boards, with HMG or the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea which is on the edge of being suspended.

So now mine is RR'd and you re print some version of your original ?

For the record my one only said his first two lines were in bad taste.

"Over the last year I have often posted my support for Islamic people living in the middle east and their human right to be accorded refugee status in the EU"

I believe you missed out the word SOME - from 'my support for Islamic people'.

Not good to try to give the impression you embrace all, when evidently you only 'support' those who agree with all your bull.
Those who question your statements are regularly insulted and castigated for 'not having an education' - whether they are as educated as you (or in some cases 'better' than you).

To attempt to mock a person on their education is akin to mocking a blind person because they can't see.

People are allowed to have a different view - this doesn't mean they are wrong.
People have different experiences - these mould them.
They may not be allegedly 'high flying' 'loadsa money' experiences - not everyone wants that - but they are relevant - and not put out just for you to snort at them, just because they're not your values/experiences.

Attempting to 'boast' that you've " often posted my support for Islamic people " - so what?
The major element missing from your 'statement' - and many others, is humility.

Sort of reply you'd expect one word.

And as you haven't denied it you must have RR me...for what exactly?

Caroline

Caroline Report 18 Jun 2017 13:51

How long before you delete your comments on this thread too...seems to be a habit lately mass deleting or amending of questionable contents.

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 18 Jun 2017 13:52

Did the Girls Club throw you out?
Not paid yr subs?
:-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 18 Jun 2017 13:54

Sorry who was that comment to?

Not quite sure how that's not being childish but hey ho you say I'm in the infants.....

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 18 Jun 2017 14:02

Of course it's 'Tosh' to you Rollo.

Why would you bother listening to anyone else's point of view when yours is the 'right one''.
No considered reply?
I rest my case.

You see, I'd also question your statement:

"Over the last year I have often posted my support for Islamic people living in the middle east and their human right to be accorded refugee status in the EU"

On 8 June, on a post you then deleted you wrote:

"Yes but the two crossed swords are on the Saudi flag for a reason".

This was after decrying Wahhabism - the implication in your post being that the swords represented violence.

I have explained in reply to that post that this flag is the EMBLEM of Saudi Arabia, not the national flag - and provided a detailed account of how the two swords and palm tree came about.
You didn't deem in necessary to thank me for explaining this to you - just ignored it, as it contradicted your (false) view.

Hence your post should read 'my support for SOME Islamic people'.

JoyLouise Report 18 Jun 2017 14:06

Now Rollo, I ain't having any of that.

This building was really built as a Girls' Club.

Although I am a sociable person, I have never joined any club at all - not even Brownies or Girl Guides but I was well-impressed by both the building and the kindness of the man who organised the building.

So tell me, you who are so obviously one of the boys, Cubs, Boy Scouts, Venturers then bar room lawyers?

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 18 Jun 2017 14:16

Dermot, fret not, she's one of the girls, made of stern stuff so she will grit her teeth and just get on with it without any touchy feely stuff.

She won so she does not need to score any points as Rollo will no doubt tell you. :-D

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 18 Jun 2017 14:23

Yes, who is this 'Girls Club'?

Are you making assumptions, Rollo?
Assumptions about my/others' political allegiance?
Dodgy road - I, for one, have not put my view, just C&P'd relevant articles.
Edit: and replied to your insults.

I don't go in for political 'slagging off', well, not on a Genealogical site.
Some of us have the guts to use political forums.

My post - for a 'considered and educated' reply doesn't mention any political view, just questions the validity of your rather boastful and self-centred 'statement'.

Caroline

Caroline Report 18 Jun 2017 15:19

Careful now Maggie he's worked out he can delete his own threads/comments but not others. If we c/p his comments all he has to do is RR them to remove them. Genes being their normal self and it being Sunday at best it might get looked at in future days by which time even if it's restored people might not notice his sick comments.

Anyway if that girls club comment was directed at me, like others I'm not in any club paid membership or otherwise. We little girlies can socialise without having to have rigid rules and regulation etc. If you were trying to be sexist by saying girls rather than ladies that's your problem.

As for not being able to pay the subs....are you inferring that myself and others are poor?.......you can be money rich and yet poor in other ways...but me I'm comfortable thanks. :-)

One person seem to think these posts are all about them and their views. WRONG!!! that's very symptomatic of either a control freak or someone who suffers from victim syndrome.

I mentioned my Muslim friends and their feelings, that's MY post.

I mentioned the costs of renting from the privately owned flats in Grenfell Tower, that's MY post.

I take ownership and I stick by what I say. No deleting or amending here.

It's like a kids' playground some days and I feel like holding someone in detention

:-D
