Dizzi, I remembered one thing.... I was asking you whether you were really interested in motor bikes? I'm not... but that's because I can't even ride a bicycle properly... I've got one but I wobble about too much :-D :-D :-D .... pity really because there are lots of cycle paths here.
'Morning to you too xxx

Afternoon all :-)
Lovely morning been sat outside 23 C and sunny. Clouding over now though.
Oh Solrosen! I'm waiting with bated breath for your tome. I didn't do much over weekend but I am going out with friends tonight, it's RAFA tomorrow and out Friday.
I wanted a bike to go to school on but never got 1. My parents were both cyclists. Dad used to cycle to work up to me going to junior school. Mum who was in the ATS in Nottingham in the war used to cycle home if she got away for a few days and the weather was ok. She came from Walsall so that's a fair way.
I eventually got a bike when I was 34 and spent the next 6 years racing around taking the children everywhere they wanted to go. Son went to cubs then scouts, finally ATC, children's club at a local church, local youth club and a cricket project all come to mind. Daughter, brownies, ATC, children's club, piano lessons, violin lesson, choir and schools orchestra on Saturday morning. We all had bikes but I did twice their distance as I dropped them off then went home then back to collect them. The music lessons and orchestra I stayed there. When I finally got a car and learnt to drive I was 40 and son was old enough to do all the trips on his own by then anyway. He had a car and was driving a year after me so he took his sister to ATC.
I must have done a few miles around Newark in those years. :-S Kept me fit and out of trouble. OH at this time was away from home Monday - Friday and then it became home every other weekend. He had the car and anyway it was far too big for me to drive - I could see out the windscreen OR use the brake/clutch/accelerator pedals. Had to wait until we could afford a car for me. :-(
Haven't been on a bike for sometime now, it's too hilly here so don't think I'll get a new one. :-D
Enjoy your day :-)

Morning all :-)
Lovely morning, breakfast in the sun 24 C at the moment.
Now out Thursday as well so that's every night until Saturday.
Friday night is a fund raiser for Nepal. A singing group and a musician are giving their time free and we are having a Nepalese buffet. There is a minimum charge to pay of 15 euro, we have been told food will be 10 euro per person so at least 5 euro per person will go towards the fund, you can give more if we want to. No doubt other things will go on.
We are always being given spirits that we don't drink. Some in fancy boxes so we're going to raffle these off. :-D
Hope you all have a lovely day. :-)

Good Morning All :-D :-D
Well.... am I fed up of this changing weather?? :-0 It doesn't seem to know what to do from one day to the next. We've got intermittent pouring rain at the moment and it's also a bit windy.
I still can't recall everything that was lost in the post that went Whoooshhh - I know that on Friday 1st May I was playing guest presenter on the Smilers thread... Mersey and Fly encouraged me to partake :-D :-D .... I had forgotten that it was a holiday day here so I had to make sure I didn't get up late. We did manage to get out for lunch and then take a walk in the nature (meaning the trees and lakes etc.,) So all in all Friday turned out rather nicely.
Saturday and Sunday were spent visiting people that we can't always get to see - not living local to us.
Monday and we were back to normal again and Tuesday and Wednesday seem to have disappeared.
So here we are.... Thursday :-0 ... How did that happen ??
Actually.... I've been quite busy... tinkering here and there. I like to move things about occasionally, and more so when we are expecting visitors. My Mum is coming next month so getting ready for her visit.
Pat... Thanks for the shoe allowance :-D I don't know why I still love shoes... but I think me and my Mum used to have such a hard time getting our size (at one time) that anything we see that doesn't look like a childrens style gets a good look at!! I stopped growing at a size 2 and Mum is still that size. I, on the other hand and for some unexplained reason, have grown a size within about the last 10 years. I must admit though, that there is now a much better variety available to us, but it's hard to break the habit :-D
Dizzi... I remember Mods n Rockers too :-D :-D :-D
Have a nice day everyone :-D <3

Good morning all :-)
Beautiful day, am washing today and I think it's going to dry quite quickly as it's already 24 C, looks like a high twenties day today.
I take size 3 Solrosen and find M & S a great help. They have stacks of 3s and in wide fits as well. Take a look at their site. If I want shoes I look at M & S find a pair or 2 required for that year order them and send them to the next person coming out here. Have done this several times in the 10 years I've been here. I did buy from there prior to coming out here so I knew they were a good fit. When I went to Wolverhampton last year went to their large M & S and they had a huge range of shoes. Your mum might have a problem though as they start from 3. Smaller sizes in the children's dept don't have VAT on them. My dad was size 6 and he used to get his shoes from the children's dept. :-D
Enjoyed the meeting last night. Had a talk from the man who runs the local auction house.
Doing some spring cleaning in our bedroom/en suite today :-(. Washing walls and woodwork down. Will also be sorting out drawers as we are preparing to put our winter clothes away soon. :-D
Hope you're sleeping better Dizzi.
Have a good day all. :-) <3

Now 27 C :-D
Yes we're back to just the 2 of us. Next lot the beginning of June but you never know. The phone has been known to ring late in the week and someone announcing they've just picked up flights cheaply and will be with us in a few days. As long as we get 24 hrs notice it's fine. One day it'll be just boarding see you in 5 hrs. :-S.
I've had a cousin find a very cheap winter holiday and get 3 weeks for 2. She was based in Limassol and got on a couple of buses to get here. She was going to just knock at the door but couldn't find the house. We had to retrieve her from the local café. Our street doesn't have a name plate so no-one knew where it was. :-D
All washing out having a drink before going upstairs :-(
Dizzi it doesn't matter what day it is, I don't know most of the time and to be honest don't care :-D.

'Morning All :-D :-D
Not much change here, weatherwise, really. Not raining at present but it's not warm and it's quite cloudy. Can you pulleeeze send us some of your sunshine Pat.. come on... you can spare us a bit, surely!! 27 C indeed !! :-0 ;-) you got loads !! :-D :-D
Thanks for the tip regarding where to try for shoes .... I just might pop in next time in the UK though sometimes the fit varies, doesn't it?
Anybody doing anything this weekend? I think the farthest we shall be travelling is to go and get the dogs food - we normally buy it once a month and go as a special journey ( the place is about 25 mins drive there ) That way the weight is not added to the weekly shop.
Can't stay longer today, people, so I'll wish you all a very pleasant week-end (I might pop in, but not promising) .... laters potaters xx :-D :-D :-D <3

Morning all :-)
Have Classic FM on this morning as it's the least election news station we can find :-D.
Solrosen look at the M & S shoes on line so you'll know what they do. You'll also know if you like their styles.
Will be out at the fundraiser for Nepal tonight. Don't usually go out Saturday as it gets very crowded. Many restaurants are taken over with wedding parties during summer. May go out Sunday evening to the club as they have entertainment on.
It's only 24 C, very cloudy with a cool wind today. Still unsettled but hopefully it'll sort itself out soon. Solrosen I'd send you a bit of sun but it does go your way after it passes us :-). You also have the sun most of the day and night in summer. The sun goes at about 8.30 pm and it's dark by 9 pm in the middle of summer here. We do have more sun than you in the winter though.
It's Friday 8th May Dizzi. I know because a man on the radio told me as it's VE day. Hope you had a good night. Are you off somewhere for the weekend?
Have a good day all. :-) <3

Morning all :-)
Where's your paint palette Dizzi you can flick paint all over your bedroom and redecorate it yourself. :-D
Not suggesting you do this :-0 but my husband had quite a lot of old clothes that were well past their best before date, every time I suggested he got rid of them the excuses flowed and they stayed. I took action and every now and then out went something. When we packed to come out here very little was left and he wore them around the house whilst working and discarded them as we left. He never noticed that about 75% had already disappeared. :-D
Sentimental things are different, would he like a cupboard for his birthday - you can choose where to put it :-D
Hope you stop being grumpy as it doesn't do your BP any good. Get Momma Mia and sing along with it or other feel good/funny film and relax. If you get bored with them you may fall asleep. :-)
Have a good day all :-) <3

Hello Dizzi
Reading about your GRUMPY o.h, and with you feeling SLEEPY today it has reminded me of the 7 Dwarfs in the Walt Disney cartoon film. There are 5 other names left:-
DOPEY DOC BASHFUL SNEEZY HAPPY
Perhaps you would like to chose another name for yourself for today? Enjoy your day whatever you choose Dizzi. xx
