Afternoon Island and Emma. Had to have a cup of tea before I came back on here. :-D

Sweden is far too cold for me :-(.

We had a big dog, he was a border collie but a similar size to a German shepherd. I'm similar height at 4 ft 11 ins or 150 cms. Our dog used to put his front paws on my shoulders and look down on me :-D

'Emma' Report 21 Apr 2015 13:53

Hi Pat, I had a German Shepherd years ago and being only
5'2 could never hold him up.
Now I'm content with my Westie, knee high is fine these days :-D

Don't have a pet now Emma but, as you may have seen from on here, one of next door's cats has adopted us :-D.

Mozart is a biggish, black, neutered male cat. He answers you back when you speak to him and often pops in during winter when his owners are at work/school. He likes company and comfort and the odd scrap if we have any ;-) In fact he's a typical cat, cupboard love to whoever will look after him :-D

Well...... I'm up with the larks today :-D already done the 'walkies' and heading for the shower soon ;-)

The sky's a bit hazy at the moment, but the temp is up a tad :-)

'Morning to Dizzi and Pat and everyone joining in ... I'm off into town later on so won't be back until later.

Hope you enjoyed your meal last night Pat - ('normal' is in sight - for a while, at least) Our dog has a cat friend - she is black all over.... still waiting for her to give us some good luck...ha,ha !

How's it with you Dizzi ? I'm always pretty impressed with the guys using the precision equipment to maneuver large and awkward articles.... takes me all my time to get my Mums rollater out of the cupboard :-D
And as for parking the car :-S .... don't even go there !! ;-) :-D

Must go now, or I'll behind schedule .... have a nice day, all :-D :-D <3

Morning Dizzi, Solrosen et al. :-)

Great meal last night, most of Brenda and Russ's goodbyes now said. They have a couple of people they have to see this morning. We are eating late afternoon down on the beach near us. They don't fly out until 22.25. So we'll leave here about 19.40 as we're only 40 mins from Paphos Airport. They are flying into Gatwick someone will pick them up there. They are back on 7th June until sometime in September.

We are out on Friday so only Thursday off but we'll be busy cleaning and washing Thursday so it'll be pizza for OH and I'll very likely have an omelette with any leftovers. I know we've some bacon and 1 mushroom so they'll go in. :-D

It'll be a shopping day Thursday/Friday as well. Back to "normal".

Very strong winds again today, birds having difficulty flying. It's 18 C and isn't going to get much warmer. There are dark clouds gathering up the mountain.

Solrosen my next door neighbour is from Finland. Meena works as a tour rep for TUI, she is married to a Greek Cypriot. Their daughter, who is now 11, speaks Greek, English without the slightest accent and could pass for a Brit and Finnish and has done from 2/3 yrs old. She was thought to be a Brit in the first nursery school she went to. :-D

Looks like I could have a busy 48 hrs :-S. Have a good time today all of you. :-)

Good Morning to all - Dizzi, Pat, Emma, Sue, Island and Jem...Phewww the list is growing :-D <3 and that's good ain't it ??

Weather report .... High clouds with a medium breeze, 7C at present

Had a good day yesterday... did my errand, had a look in the shops and finished with coffee and a bun (last bit being the best bit)

Today I need to find that bit of triangle shaped metal with a handle - I really need to iron today.. my pile is getting ridiculous.

Could do with that Dizzi !! Actually, I don't drive when I go into town as its easier to take the tram - and enjoyable too, because I can relax and take a look around while I travel.

Gosh, Pat... I wish I was of an age where picking up another language was easier - though, when I think about it, I wasn't even that good with French when I was at school. Lucky for me that folks are patient :-D
Your neighbours daughter seems talented in the language department... think how many opportunities this can give her in the future!

Right, can't put it off any longer.... I'm off to a board meeting (ironing board) :-D :-D

Have a nice day everyone :-) <3

Morning all :-)

It would be wonderful if we could go around the world on this thread.

Yes Anna is talented in languages, very good for here if she wants a job in the tourist trade. I do think she'll go to uni but studying what? Too early to know I think. She's also a talented dancer. :-)

It's quiet this morning. Wasn't a few hours ago, almighty thunder storm during the night. Mozart is here because of the high winds again and he's looking for Russ and Brenda, told him they'll be back in a few weeks so now he's on the chair all curled up. It's shopping and cleaning day. Putting off the washing until the wind calms down as I won't have any clothes left if I put them out to dry :-D

Weather forecast for today is for lots of rain anyway, it's wind and low temperatures today, only 12 C at the moment. Tomorrow looks very different, much calmer, lots of sun and 22 C :-D :-D :-D

I have at least 4 lots of washing to do tomorrow, I don't mind the washing but the ironing!!!!!!!!!! I'm with you Solrosen, I hate ironing. Can't buy lots of things that don't need ironing as you need cotton clothes in summer here. I'd rather iron though and live here in the warmth - especially when we have a "normal" winter that's mild, not like this winter :-(

Hope all is well Dizzi :-), all of you have a good day. :-D <3

Morning All :-) (I concur Dizzi)

Just put out third lot of washing, only 2 more loads then all washed :-S

I have 2 take my blood pressure twice a day. I had trouble sleeping properly and the sleep doc said take it when I get up. It's always at it's lowest then, I know I've slept OK and I have had that deep sleep you are supposed to get. In the evening it's to see if I need my second BP tablet. Most nights I don't have to :-).

Don't take your blood pressure after an argument as it could be sky high. Someone we know in UK has a very temperamental daughter and she is still living with her parents well into her 30s. She was being very difficult a couple of years ago. Friend had just taken her BP and it was OK, daughter came home from work and caused a big argument so BP was done again and daughter was shown the 2 readings. Daughter not so argumentative and difficult these days ;-)

It's 20 C here, sunny, blue sky and no wind but it snowed up the mountain yesterday :-S. This may be the start of the warm up. Clothes drying quickly so low humidity. Hope we've got to spring :-D

Solrosen Report 24 Apr 2015 11:10

Helloooeee.... Bet you thought I'd got lost, eh ?? :-D

Morning Dizzi & Pat

Well, it doesn't look very good outside... it's bright enough, but them there clouds seem to be a-rollin' in .... (always fancied talking like Calamity Jane :-))

Dizzi, Hope you've found your BP unit and that it all went well with your doctors appointment yesterday. Managed to get a bit of ironing sorted out yesterday, so now I've started I've got to continue.

Pat, Let's hope that the weather is improving ... yours should happen soon, surely? and yet 20 C sounds like summer already to me! :-D

As you know it can be very cold here, but during the warmer weather it can be really lovely - and of course our summer days can be very long.

Lets cross our fingers that we get all we want to do today, done ... so that we can enjoy the weekend.

I'm not hanging about right now as my iron is ready and waiting - bye for now....
:-) <3
