Hi Dutch,

I have not come across any Morgans in my tree so cannot help
I'm afraid.
I've only been researching for 40 years so may come across some yet.
Some others on here may be able to help.

Emma :-)

I have one family called Morgan in my tree.
Although they lived in Ayrshire from 1841, this Morgan family was... Irish.

A Poem - A Scottish Christmas Fairy

It's nae joke bein' a fairy
The job's beyond belief.
You've got to go roon' the wean's beds
An' lift their rotten teeth.

But o' a' the joabs a fairy gets
An' I've mentioned only some;
The very worst is sitting up a tree
Wi' pine needles up yir bum.

When a' the fairies meet again
By the light of' the silvery moon,
Ye can tell the Christmas fairies
They're the wans that canna sit doon.

The Christmas tree's a bonny sight
As the firelight softly flickers
But think o' me I'm stuck up here
Wi' needles in my knickers.

So soon as Christmas time's right by
An' I stop bein' sae full o' cheer,
I'll get awa back tae Fairyland
An' I'll see yous a' next year.

All 3 daughters were heading off to Edinburgh this morning, on a Christmas shopping trip.
They decided to travel fom Motherwell train station rather than Glasgow Queen St.

Driving through Motherwell, I spotted quite a few banners and signs for tonight's X factor final.
I had forgotten that finalist, Nicholas McDonald was from Motherwell.

Good Luck Nicky!

FRESH DUG

Now that's taking roadkill a bit far!

Reached the sign............. next to a table of freshly dug sweet potatoes $2 a bag, with an honesty box.

To the memory of all those who died in the Lockerbie Disaster 25 years ago today <3

On the evening of the 21st December 1988, Pan American Flight 103 bound for New York, was blown out of the sky by a terrorist bomb and crashed onto the Scottish town of Lockerbie, killing all 259 passengers and 11 people on the ground.

I drove past Lockerbie a few days after this happened and when I saw the devastation I was visibly shaken.

May the 270 people who died on that terrible day R.I.P. - My thoughts and prayers today go out to their family and friends and the people of Lockerbie <3

On reflection, the last year was not too bad for me.
I still have everything, and more that I had when we started 2013 and already have a pretty full calendar for 2014.

One too many brandies ( and one all over me) tonight, so my best wishes go to you all.

'Scots mind their language & hang on to braw words'.

This is the heading of a lovely short but informative piece in today's Times explaining that the Scots remain fiercely proud of their vocabulary.
