'Cariwch', medd Dafydd, 'fy nhelyn i mi,
Ceisiaf cyn marw roi tôn arni hi.
Codwch fy nwylo i gyraedd y tant;
Duw a'ch bendithio fy ngweddw a'm plant!'
'Neithiwr mi glywais lais angel fel hyn:
"Dafydd, tyrd adref, a chwarae trwy'r glyn!"
Delyn fy mebyd, ffarwel i dy dant!
Duw a'ch bendithio fy ngweddw a'm plant!'

'Bring me my harp', was David's sad sigh,
'I would play one more tune before I die.
Help me, dear wife, put the hands to the strings,
I wish my loved ones the blessing God brings.'
'Last night an angel called with heaven's breath:
"David, play, and come through the gates of death!"
Farewell, faithful harp, farewell to your strings,
I wish my loved ones the blessing God brings.'

Also thought I saw a man in a long white dress gazing out from one of the parapets on Conwy Castle as I passed it on the Trefriw rd..frightened me a bit,

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 6 Jan 2013 22:22

Brenda. That must have been Russell Grant. No other men in Wales would dress so provocatively :-D ;-)

BrendafromWales Report 6 Jan 2013 22:26

No John .this man...or mirage ...was much taller and certainly thinner than Russell Grant...Think he had R L embroidered in big letters on the front of his habit.
I was so near to the castle as I turned the corner that I could see his thin features quite clearly.

MrD Are old memories coming back?

"Oes gafr eto?" is a favourite kid's song. Gets faster and faster as you build up the goats. Gafr wen (white goat), gafr ddu (black), gafr las (blue) until about 8 goats needing milking - heb eu godro.

Gwersi Cymraeg am rhad ac am ddim (free Welsh lessons) ;-)

I know a lady Druid living near Conwy...perhaps he was having a secret tryst with her....before heading back to Nefyn?...reminiscing about his teenage years catching crabs!

Suzanne - Oh! You are naughty!!! But I love you !! (Apologies for the plaguirism!!)

I still want to know who sent me the catalogues, though...just found another one that was caught in the letterbox - "Dillad isaf ar gyfer defaid". Must admit, not really into underwear for sheep :-S :-S :-S :-S
Any takers -its quite, umm, small ! ??

JustJohn Report 6 Jan 2013 22:50

Certainly R L has got no mussels. Wonder who this Lady Druid could be from his childhood. Think my mil (95 last Thurday :-D :-D) is safely at home in Holywell? Not 100% sure, though. :-( ;-)
