Pontypandy is NOT in Caerphilly County. Not cheesey at all. It is in Rhondda Cynon Taff County.

Pontypandy is where Bella Lasagne lives, where Tom Jones, Glyn Houston, Stanley Baker, H from Steps and Gordon Mills were born. Where Cwm Rhondda was written. Where George Thomas, the First Viscount Tonypandy was born. And it has a huge University. And a Subway.

Thread getting like a UCAS clearing house :-( :-( Pontypandy University (aka Trefforest Mining Institute aka University of Glamorgan) , with sites in Trefforest and the lovely Nant Garw (vale of the deer) has a huge student population. 550 of the 18,000 students are Chinese nationals. Brfilliant addition to student population at this time of the year. It will soon be the Chinese Year of the Sheep. :-D

My four year old grandson has just told me that fireman Sam lives in Pontypandy, and he should know having spent the last three hours watching it. :-D :-D

FGS, Dafad y Garreg Wen is a very famous song sung to Iron Maiden's Run to the Hills" It is about a Hell's Angel who loves his sheep (defaid), and then slaughters his favourite (dafad) and eats him on Garreg Wen.
Dafydd y Garreg Wen is a rather lovely song, often sung by Male Voice Choirs and accompanied by a harpist who charges £2 a pluck.

When have the Treorchy Male Voice Choir sang anything that resembles "Run to the Hills". :-0 :-0 :-0 :-| :-| :-| Get it sorted!!!!!

Have been out to lunch today in Gyffin Conwy and seen the first newborn Welsh lambs out in the field and there were a lot of Welsh ponies out in the next field gazing at them.....shame ...not a Druid in sight...or a standing stone!
