Police have released a new CCTV image of Tia Sharp in a bid to trace the 12 year old who went missing on Friday.

At a press conference at New Scotland Yard this evening Tia's uncle and two close friends of the family appeared wearing T-shirts picturing the missing school girl and appealed for the publics help in finding her and for Tia to come home.

The picture was taken outside the Co-op on Featherbed Lane, New Addington, on Thursday August 2, the day BEFORE she went missing.

Hmmmm.....how many teenagers go out without their mobile (and money)?
The ones I see appear to have them glued to their ears!!

I believe that she did have money with her.
But was surprised that a (nearly) teenager went out without her mobile phone. Perhaps it needed to be recharged?

Otherwise would expect most youngsters to go back for phone if they had forgotton it.

This is extra worrying.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Aug 2012 12:27

According to reports she only had £10 with her as she was only popping to a particular shop for a pair of shoes. But a 12 year old without a phone is quite unusual I suppose. As Tess said maybe it needed money on it or charging.

Must admit to raising an eyebrow at the thought of a 12 yr old going into town for the first time without a mobile too...especially if she was taking a bus...she would want to fiddle about messaging for the duration of the journey in my experience.

Apparently her own mobile wasn't working and she was using her mum's....regardless...when the time comes I wouldn't let my 12 yr old out to town for the first time a)alone or b)without a mobile...but then children mature at different times I guess so maybe she is more street wise than mine? I dunno.

Just hope she's found soon x

this surprised me to, my littleman isnt allowed to his friends without his mobile, so i can contact him, n his friend is only a few doors away,

i do hope shes found safe and well soon

Julie Report 7 Aug 2012 17:34

Her Mobile is broken & she was using her Mums which was charging

Im the same though my 2 don't go out without theirs if i can help it......My Daughter has forgotten to take hers to school once but if im honest i wouldn't let her go shopping on her own not yet she is still to young

AnninGlos Report 7 Aug 2012 17:48

I see a lot of youngsters in town who, at a guess are about 11 or twelve but they are usually in twos.
