#tuts and clucks and hoists thread back to its rightful position#
Tutty tut, Ladies, we are slacking are we not?
I am sorry for the doggie dear Susan. Trickey herself is a little poorly now and again, and I fear for her mortality. Please send your Mama my best regards.
Teresa dear, afraid of P and P? I was more in fear of The Beakles! I do believe there is an exhibition at the V & A, but I will not visit as it will only depress me.
Pat-trish-aaaaah is in Spain dears. Did I not say? What with all the performance with Millie and Beattie, I may has missed telling you.
She is visiting her Papa and cousins. As you know her dear Mama died a few years ago, but she is still in contact with Pa, and spends a couple of weeks with him each year.
Sorry dears, but just off to church. We have the gramaphone again as Beattie has done a bunk, I do hope the Reverend keeps turning the handle this week.
Anyway, I have done my bit to bring us up to scratch.
Where is Lesley by the way? I do hope she is well.

Hello Ladies,
Lesley, I had a wonderful weekend away. No work is always a bonus... Retail therapy another, nice luncheons also most welcome.
My spa was divine. I was lucky enough to be treated by a dear little Japanese girl. How she has the strength to pummel all and sundry I do not know. She is but a slip of a girl..... She had a wicked sense of humour too :-D. We tripped the light fantastic on Saturday evening, why my over indulgences virtually disappeared in front of my very eyes. :-D.
That said, I have been partaking in 'morning teas' this week and I shouldn't have :-(.
I am stuck here at work later than I would like to be today . I have a feeling our dinner is going to be a tad on the late side this evening...
I did forward you all a pm this morning..

Dear Gels, I am SO pleased that we are like Georgianna's bloomers. Harvest Festivals her dear husband calls them 'All Is Safely Gathered In'!
We are back to full numbers now dears, and we have VERY important things to arrange off-line! Slowly, very slowly, all is coming together. Hurrah!
Still no word from Beattie and Millie, I think that chapter is now closed. How very sad. The Captain is devastated.
Pat-trish-aaaaah has decided to stay a little longer, and spend time with her Spanish Cousins. Mrs Berry and dear little Cherry are beavering away downstairs, as we have visitors later in the week, and all is right with the world.
I do hope you had a lovely weekend dear Susan. I trust your massage was not as 'exciting' as mine. I dont think I could have stood more than another moment being pummelled by a half-naked man, I definitely had a touch of the vapours!
Tis tipping it down here. My dear little flower boxes are looking decidedly limp!
I hope one and all are well, and dry. My felicitations to you all.

Auntie dear,
I have been a pondering all week, it is of a rather delicate nature.........
As you know Ladies do spend a lot of time, money and pain in getting rid of hair which should not be on show. The poor gal who won asongsforeurope/wellweloveourneighbourseveniftheysinglikeawailingcat contest, well Auntie, did you notice the poor gal had forgot to get rid of some unwanted "wispers" facial hair :-S :-S :-S
if you had been there with dear Graham, Ken etc you would have taken her aside to have a quaite and descrete word before she performed.
Tuttyttutut and more tuts.
it just shows that Mr Norton does not realise that a gal has to do things "in the best possible taste"
Orf to continue with the unpaid housework toil.
yours, very confused
Teresa ( hunting for some veet and a postal adress for the poor gal)

Ladies I have been lying in a darkened room since Eurovision, fanning myself with a wet lettuce leaf.
I am pondering and fretting. The more I ponder, the more I fret.
I am totally confused.
Someone help!

#waves letter in the air triumphantly#
There now, I knew I was right all along. The stamp is franked in Spain, so I KNOW that Pat-trish-aaaah is still over there. She has said she wants to stay with her cousins for the Summer. Seeing as she is neither use nor ornament here, I have agreed that she should come home in September. Her Papa has also confirmed that she may stay, and help with the olive picking, and harvesting the grapes. It will do her good to be in the sunshine, also her grasps of Spanish needs a little encouraging. So all in all, a good idea all around. I never imagined that Pat-trish-aaah could be, singing and showing herself on television. #shudders# perish the thought!
We are still looking for someone to tinkle the ivories now that Beattie has done a bunk! Not only for church, but also for the Centenary Celebrations at the Old Soldiers and Sailors Home. We are having celebrations all through June, so we need someone who can at least vamp.....................any offers anyone?
Not long now until we have Royalty landing on our shores. Such fun. I am all aquiver.
I hope everyone is keeping cool in this humid weather. Keep well dears, and we will speak soon.

Morning Ladies,
Well, what a pea souper we have here this morning... Fruit and I walked the pup in the dark and fog :-D, I wouldn't have gone out by myself.. I hope the sky clears soon as Fruit has work out of town this morning, I don't like her on the road in bad weather... :-(.
The days are racing by, goodness me. Panic hasn't set in just yet, probably by the end of next week things will be a little hectic.. I am sure it will all come out in the wash... it jolly well has too.
Fruit and I are off to the big smoke tomorrow afternoon. We are off to a Michael Bubble concert :-D, also a bit of baby shopping. Now that will be fun. :-
Petunia, how lovely for Patty to spend some time in Spain, all those lovely Tapas and vino... Oh, she is picking the grapes. Pardon me. ;-). Patty will be as tanned as a nut by the time she comes home. Lucky gal. I am more a 'glow in the dark' complexion :-|.
The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain..... rats, that is going to be stuck in my head now..
Humpty Dumpty has been sold for $11000.00 dollars at a toy show, he is one of three original eggs from the TV series with Jemima and co... Crikey, where does one put a 'Humpty Dumpty" ????, why would you even want a oversized toy egg? Each to their own...
Time to face another day, roll on tomorrow afternoon.

Ah Auntie, im glad Pat rish aaaa is doing good works in Spain :-D. Its such a relief to know it was not she who was making such a show of herself the other weekend.
It is very odd but there were many tubes of veet on sale in the local branchbof the chemist. I wonder if a new trend is on its way :-S :-S :-S :-S
Now as for the matter of the church organ, I suggest dear that it may be prudent to put a notice in the small ads. Of course you need a person of quality and breeding but desperate times call for desperate measures :-D
Mr Bubble Susan, how loverly :-D he seems like a naice young man, I have a CD of his Christmas songs, played of course all year round :-D Baby shopping, how lovely. If its clothes you are after there are some wonderful things not only in the high street but in the bigger well known supermarkets here. Keep a small corner free to fill ;-)
Now Aunty, back to the practical matters you are so good at. I have a very special event on the horizon. Im meeting some very special guests and a lady of some breeding and decorum. What would one wear in such a situation?
I was thinking of the" Essex gal" uniform................ the orange glow, big hair, heals that are impossible to stand in, make up that takes all week to apply and even longer to remove, oh and of course, a handbag of designer proportions and a small dog to pop in it :-D
yours looking for the make up brushes

Oh dear, I can feel a migraine coming on!
The Essex Uniform. I dont know if I can bear it.
White stillettos figure greatly I believe, along with mini skirts and tattooed eyebrows!
I, of course, shall be the model of decorum.
I am favouring a hobble skirt, a fitted jacket, straw bonnet, and high button boots.
You may laugh ladies, but you aint seen nothing yet.
Susan, you must be bursting with pride at the impending birth. How lovely for you.
Orft to sort out the millinery cupboard.

I am so sorry dear Lesley, I forgot the vogue was Jammy Chews, or Manolo Blankets. Silly me!
Our Susan must have longer arms now, buying all the necessary stuff for the new arrival. How lovely for her and her family. A new baby smell! All warm and talcum powder. Aaaaaah.
There is, I believe, an advertisement starring said Mr Bubble. What a patronising advert it is. He ruffles another man's hair, as if he is a child. I think I would smack the bounder back!
However, back to the question in hand. I do so hope that dear Susan had a lovely time.
We have resumed work on the Ark after this afternoon. Such rain! Stair rods!
Inspecting my tootsies again, for webbing.
Toodle Auntie Petunia.
[if any of the new 6 peepers who have looked in on us would like to join us for afternoon tea on this thread. Please do]
