Ladies,
We enjoyed Mr Bubble indeed though he looked quite tired.. We tapped our feet in perfect time to the music.
Shopped up a storm today. Question : how can items so tiny cost so much...? Beggars belief. Merino all the way dears, there lies the answer perhaps. I did purchase a new top for myself , as in blouse not my own top half. I may wear it to compliment Petunia with her parasol..
Yawn, OH has rugby on the TV..
I am off to make a cup of rosy lea.
Toodle :-)

Good evening dear ladies, how are we all?
Well we are still organist-less. Still no word from Beattie nor Millie. I think we will not hear from them now. They have burned their boats, and are living in a cats home! Such is the price of sin.
We had torrential rain yesterday, and we have had wall to wall sunshine today. The only beneficiary of this is my window boxes. They are blooming marvellous!
We are to hold a bar-b-que tomorrow at the Old Soldiers and Sailors Home. Mrs Berry has bakes cakes, and one of the old soldiers has volunteered to be chef for the day. I have alerted the St John's Ambulance and they are sending two of their staff along for the day, should they be needed. If not, they can join in the festivities. Jolly good.
I wish you all a pleasant Bank Holiday dears, although I shall be working..................no peace for the wicked dears!

Monday morning again.... though that means there are only eight sleeps until 'D' day.,. yikes. How exciting.
I haven't started packing yet, it does sound as though I need to bring my woollies and gumboots and some lighter clothing for when the sun comes out. :-D.
Petunia,, a BBQ sounds like fun... Hopefully the day will be naice and warm. Good idea having the medics on standby.... I must say there is nothing quite like the smell of charred sausages. ;-).
Thanks for your offer Teresa. I am awaiting instructions from the Fruit as to what I may or may not purchase....
I have a busy week ahead of me this week. Roll on next Monday..
Have a good week ladies, I shall pop in before next Monday.

Good evening ladies. Another wet and wild one on these shores.
I do hope the wind changes, our celebrations for the Old Soldiers and Sailors are to start in June. I am hoping our Special Visitors will bring good weather with them.
I am sitting here looking across London dears, the skyline is very murky tonight, and the clouds are scurrying across the sky. The Telecomms Tower is winking at me, and the Shard is covered in cloud. Nearly Summer then!
My orchids are coming into bud dears, I have forgotton what colours they are, so it will be a treat for me to see them bloom into colour. I do so love orchids, they are so exotic.
Like me really!

Ladies,
Do not rely on your visitors to bring any good weather with them :-(...
Petunia, my Papa grew Orchids, when there was a good crop we were given armfuls to put into vases. :-). You must take a photograph to show us what colours you have, what type of Orchids are you growing.?
Today we have had misty fog down to ground level for most of the day, :-|. I am not amused. What a miserable excuse for a day... Yesterday we had a heavy frost. Talk about extremes...
5 sleeps :-),

Ladies, tis Saturday night again, and I have a little soiree planned for Georgianna her husband, Octavia and hers, and a new lady who has made contact regarding the organ playing on Sunday. She has introduced herself as a Mrs Weatherspoon. I dare say we shall find out her given name in due course.
She read my notice on the Board outside the church, asking for organists, and I, being the politess of people, invited her around tonight. As you know Pat-trish-aaaah is not here, so I am a little nervous of asking a stranger into ones home, so I have the backup of the rest of the gang. I shall report back.
Susan dear, you must be looking forward to your vacation dear. What fun you will have I am sure.
Teresa, what is the M word dear? Why are you ducking for cover? Tutty tut dear, do you mean Modesty? As you know, I am the epitome of Modesty. I say YES, if you want something.................have it. We are all a long time dead dear.
I do so hope dear Lesley is tickety boo. I presume she has demands on her time, and we will hear from her in due course.
Pip Pip all, I am orft to supervise the laying of the table for my guests.

Ahem, ladies, may I introduce to you..........Mrs Weatherspoon............Virginia to her friends. And I do hope we will all be firm friends.
Well, there is no edge to Virginia, and no side either. She was very open with us all, both the ladies and the gents. She did not flinch from any question, and Georgianna can be like the Spanish Inquisition when she puts her mind to it!
Virginia comes from Devon. She was in the WAAF. She has been married for nearly 50 years to her childhood sweetheart. She has three children and six grandchildren. All thriving. She has played the piano since she was a child, and she loves to play. She is the answer to all our prayers. Our Vicar popped in too on Saturday night, and he was most impressed too. I am so pleased, I felt time was running out for us all, regarding the concert. But Virginia, or Ginnie as she wants us to call her, has set aside time to learn the music and has even put forward some ideas of her own. I am pleased, as you know, I am very open to ideas, as long as they are the same as my own.
So, that is the news dears, I hope you are as pleased as we are.
Do have a lovely week dears, but pack your galoshes. Susan dear, galoshes, pack them now.

Good evening Ladies, how are we?
Weatherspoons dear Teresa? What are they? If they are some chain of hostelries, then no, I do not frequent them! I do not frequent any kind of hostelry! Tutty tut. As you know dears, I am tee total, and when I do partake of refreshment, then it is orft to the Ritz for me, for afternoon tea. Proper china and silver spoons. Perish the thought.
Lesley dear, how are you? You must be very busy dear, along with our dear Teresa. How lovely to see you both.
How lovely to live in a little village. Where I live, we like to call it a Village, although it is at the top of a Hill. And the bus that terminates there, denotes a Village, sadly it is no so. We have a pond, and a church, and pretty little shops, but when you look DOWN the Hill, we have a view of a monstrosity of a Football Stadium. It dominates the skyline. I am no amused!
But that is by the by, now this opening of the gardens................let me know the date dear, and I will see if I can work it into my busy schedule.
Busy, busy, always busy!

Good morning dear Ladies,
I am sorry for my absence but I am dosing myself up as I have a chill.
As you know we had our celebrations to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Dunkirk over the weekend. Everyone had a spiffing time. Lots of lovely food and plenty of tears, plus wonderful singing. All the old songs, it was truly a sight to behold, all the soldiers and sailors wore their medals, and had a touch of brilliantine in their hair.
As their leader in the affair, I was to dress as Britannia, and indeed I did. It was a little cool in the shade, and as I was not wearing my vest and liberty bodice, I fell foul to a chill, as I am sneezing like there is no tomorrow!
I must get better dears, as our State Visit looms large with our foreign dignitaries coming to see us.
Off to the menthol inhalations once again!
