Thank you Stray :-D

I'll probably have forgot about it by then though. If I remember I'll watch it.

Hi Lynda

Really pleased you said the opening ceremony is gonna be great. When I saw the Engish village thingy I thought it a bit embarrassing. so I will certainly be watching now.
I enjoy the athletics best. OH has been gardening most of the day, with me saying leave it till its not so hot. No he said he has to catch up on all his jobs cause after Friday there no chance of me getting anything done for a couple of weeks.

Stray your little man will love it too :-)

Barb, I think when I'm not working at the Olympics, I'll be watching it, so not much will get done at this house for a few weeks either :-D

I'm now a little worried, that people who wouldn't of watched, will now, because I said how fantastic it is, and may not like it, but think of it like a play, I may love it you may hate it, but even if you don't like the content, you will be impressed at all the work that has gone into it, after all most of the people in it are volunteers, and have given up weeks of there time to do it, I applied to be in the opening/closing ceremony, but unfortunately I didn't get in, although I did get to do a second audition, so I know just how much these ordinary people have worked, so don't moan eh ;-)

I will be glued to the TV during the olympics and para olympics the BBC are broadcasting on multiple channels in an attempt to show as many events live as possible.

Tis all a load of hype far as I'm concerned. Apart from late night news and very occasionally a documentary I dont bother with TV

~Lynda~ Report 24 Jul 2012 22:12

Worth watching for the history part Stray, Father in law was at the 1948 games, and talks about it, so my Grandchildren, have a Great Grandfather, and a Nanny who were at Olympic stadiums 64 apart, nice bit of history for them :-)

That's what I like to hear Sue....dedication :-D

That's fantastic Shelley, he'll talk about it for years :-D

It isn't hype at all Ronald, it's spectacular, go on, have a watch, you just might enjoy yourself :-D

Didn't we sort the timing out this morning? Or are the descriptions on Sky programme planner wrong?

According to that, the opening ceremony starts on the TV at NINE pm not 7pm. - from 7 it says there is a two hour pre-ceremony TV programme, which possibly may include Lynda's 'big' thing at 20:12.

If someone could check other sources, it would be helpful.

Shelley, if he is working there, he must have friends with a sophisticated mobile inc camera. See if you can persuade him to have a picture taken and emailed to you.

My Mum still has her ticket from the 1948 London games.....

She watched Fanny Blankers-Kohen race.

We watched a documentary this week on the building of the Olympic Park, amazing, especially the machine that 'washed' the toxic soils clean.

Go NZ !!!! :-)

Joeva

Joeva Report 26 Jul 2012 08:57

How amazing Susan-NZ that your mum still has her ticket after all these years.

Good to see you supporting your Country ! All athletes taking part deserve to be applauded on their hard work and dedication to their sports :-)

Shelley, I think you will find that there will be a photo of everyone there taken, and put on line, where you can zoom in and find yourself, they do this at lots of events now, and I'm sure at such a massive event it'll be done :-D

Susan, what a lovely bit of history the ticket is to have, my father in law never kept his ticket, what a shame :-(

You're right Jo, all athletes taking part, need a big applause for there hard work, and although I want the GB team to do fantastic, above all, I want it to be a safe & happy games :-)

Only one day to go....Wooohooo :-D :-D
