Oh maggie, it is cold here too ! fingers & noses turning blue ! cars were frosty three days running so folks were scraping instead of sunning ! scarves, once put away, now back, and gloves & hats taken off the rack ! but it won`t last, I`m sure it`s true, before long there`ll be skies of blue............. now I know the skies are blue right now, but they have lost their heat somehow ! enjoy your holiday, have fun, & when you`re back then I have one !!

We have had a broken boiler, The house was cold as ice getting up in the morning Wasn't very nice!!
We had electric heaters And a real coal fire at night We phoned the boiler menders To explain our plight!
Did they rush to help us? Although the boiler still had a guarantee. No they would not repair it We hadn't had it serviced regularly!!!
But now the weather has turned warmer, Things are not so dire. Though in the late evening I still like to sit by the fire.
Maggie is off to Scotland, Woolly jumpers she will take. Mountains, lochs and brooding skies, Maggie, have a wonderful break!

Maggie, I do.love.Scotland But it is so far to go. When I was younger we visited Every winter, in spite of snow.
We would drive up after Christmas, See trees covered with fairy lights, Pop in and out of shops like Jenners And visit nearby sights.
In summer we took the high road, Visited Crieff, Oban and even Skye But now it all seems so far away. I really wonder why.

Scotland is so far away if travelling by road But we make a day of it to relieve the 'heavy' load Stopping off for picnics taking photos on the way It may seem such a journey but you can make it in a day Then a nice B+B later take the road bridge to Skye or a Calmac ferry from Oban and hear the seagulls cry On the way to Lewis in the Outer Hebrides Oh Chrispy you can do it It would be such a breeze !

Phew, Chrispy, hope your boiler is fixed but you won't need it now The temperature has soared today Hotter than Spain, somehow ! The garden is parched of water So the hose pipe comes out soon
Then sit with a glass of sparkling wine 'Til the sun is swapped by the moon

Well, at least it is cooler now Plenty of cloud here today Last night was so sticky I wanted the heat to go away !
I wished it warm in winter but that was just too much I want my childhood summers back with just a tender touch
Of summer warmth and a cool breeze blowing Was that global warming without me really knowing?
Chrispy ,you are a saint To save roses as you do No doubt about it Off to Chelsea flower show for you !
Tina, I raise my glass But I will pass on the red My favourite tipple will be a Chardonnay instead..lol

And I will raise a glass to you. Hope you are all well. I need a little relaxation. Maybe you can tell!
My hallway is so dark. It has been so for years. Now I've got the paint out, It's driving me tears!
I've painted all the walls, Dulux Jasmine white, And painted the coving (It does look nice and bright)
But the radiator is chipped, The glosswork is past its best, I had hoped a wash would do the trick, But I think I'll have to paint the rest!

ahhh Chrispy, thats the way it goes, you think you`ll do one bit, but that shows up the next bit.... oh, it makes you want to sp*t !!
Is it better not to start ? al least all looks the same, but once you touch it with new paint well, thats a different game !
AND it does`t stop there !! no..... it just goes on... curtains, carpet.. all look drab & then all your money`s gone !!
But have a rest whatever you do, a glass of wine has been earned by you !! Tina x

Oh Tina, you are quite right. Carpets and curtains look so old. And even the pictures look dated and tired I need something a little more bold!
Now I'm glad to see you here And Maggie comes along. But we are missing our old friend Ron And where has Stella gone?

I popped in quick just to see if you are all ok ? I wanted to put a line on here before my holiday ! we are off on another cruise, and leave on Wednesday, what a shame the ship can`t stop and pick you all up on the way !
we don`t have to fly this time, to board the ship will be easy, this time we leave from Dover... (choppy water could make you queasy !!) we set sail for Copenhagen, then off to Germany & Estonia, then, before Stockholm & Finland we have two days in Russia.
Twelve days in all we will be gone, not too far from the land of the Midnight Sun ! I`m excited now, should really start to pack.... but before you know it we`ll be on our way back. Sighhhhhhh

Oh, I tip toe on to here You are as quiet as mice Tina is away I know In countries full of spice
I will tread the footboards of the Rhyming Threads stage and do a little reading of our world famous sage
'To be or not to be' and did Romeo murder his mate? And if I kill this thread I will put it down to fate!
So come on fellow rhymers 'tis not hard to write a line First one to write a line or two will be the first to share my wine!
So, I tip toe silently off here and open a bottle of red And if no-one wants to join me Then it's an early night in bed !!
Maggie xx
